Mariah’s solo F6 whistle note left me speechless😱. And Then that double whistle harmony, was amazing🤯🎤I’ll always be greatful for Mariah Carey. And Ariana and Jennifer killed It . But when it comes to the whistle register. Mariah and Minnie Riperton for me in particular, were the legendary vocalists who made the whistle register capability seem above expectations. Even though Ariana can hit whistle notes. She’s only recently started doing them more often. Whereas Queen MC has been using her whistle register throughout her entire career. Besides that it was everything🎄🎶
Ariana has only been doing them recently because when she attempted to use them in her music before and they compared her to Mariah and said she was trying to be her, because of her using her whistle registry. Ariana did a cover of emotions years ago and everyone said she was trying too hard to be Mariah. Now she's in a point in her career to where she doesn't care if people compare her to Mariah. I'm sure now she'll be using it more often and we'll see exactly what she can do. Her song "my hair" was the first time she ever released a song singing words in her whistle registry. Minnie Ripperton was great, bust she was not able to sing words on her whistle registry, just sing like a bird. That's what made her different. Mariah was the first recording artist to sing words in whistle and she mastered it and is still able to do it today.
