this is one of few things that isnt necessarily humans fault. cheetahs have always struggled because of their lack of strength, they usually get food stolen.

I saw the race video, I am not an expert on cars but after seeing this video I have to say that I really appreciate the message behind all this.
The more i watch cheetah videos, the more i wanna quit my job and go experience the wildlife in person. Then i remember im not that rich.

Cheetah can stop immediately after reaching maximum of 120kmph rather than a F1 car..... amazing creation by nature.

That’s an FE car not an F1
F1 cars have a top speed of 230 mph or around 370 kmh, of course it would take longer to slow down but from 70-0 mph for an F1 car is probably about 2-3 seconds
That's an FE car, which does a maximum of 170 mph, if I'm not mistaken.

About 2 seconds for a full stop at 120kmh for the FE car. That's an extremely highly engineered machine and the Cheetah can pretty much match it. It's just ridiculous.
Think an f1 braking time from ~200mph is roughly 4 seconds? Idk

Im a very big fan of cars but the cheetah wins this race i know the car and the cheetah were really close at the finish line but the cheetah is a living naturally fast animal on the other hand the FE car was built and its programed ( i think i spelled it wrong) and made for that type of speed or acceleration. So if you think of it the cheetah really wins. Hope u guys understand stand what I meant and also that car is sick af lol
Don't forget two things 1) the humans decided where the finish line would be. So even a dog would win a race with cheetah if you get to decide
2) IF IT WERE AN ANIMAL, CHEETAH WOULD'VE CAUGHT IT BEFORE IT ACCELERATES FURTHER.

After seeing the that this was in fact produced without CGI.. this is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
I am a huge automotive enthusiast. I drive classic cars on the daily, but it is a catch 22. I really love the message FE is putting out. Though internal combustion engines will always peak my interest, I do hope that EV becomes more popular. Maybe I’ll make my Volkswagen Fastback an EV 🧐

I'm from the Philippines, and we have experienced the 300km/hr super typhoon leveling everything.
My City, Dumaguete, experienced a month and a half of no rain, caused by Climate Change and Excessive Fossil fuel burning. In my lifetime (now 43 yrs old) we have not experienced such drought. The heat feed the storms and our city was hit with a 200 km/hr wind on spot.
I was able to evacuate a day before since I used scientific analysis in determining the path with datas provided in the internet. Not everyone anticipated the path like i did. Even the Coast Guard was caught unaware. You need to know what's happening regarding climate change to anticipate anything like this to happen. Climate Change Deniers will caught them unaware.
The reason I am supporting the drive to replace Internal Combustion Engine with EV.
I support it too, especially Teslas. But some people don't believe in Climate change, often in areas like europe with only minor natural disasters. The topic is really not that easy and hopefully all find a solution.
That's been happening in your region for hundreds of years - hence why the Cheetahs are in Africa.

This is what I love about Formula E. Bringing forward real problems to the general public and helping to solve them. It also puts into perspective how personal most drivers are. I can't imagine Lewis Hamilton doing this unless clad in Hugo Boss and Monster logos and paid millions.

I think the cheetah would've been way faster if it had higher stakes, for example a hungry cheetah chasing it's prey, hunting down a gazelle or something. the Mindset alone would've affected the overall performance
Oh man.. so many dumb comments, I can't believe it. If someone thinks to be an expert in electric mobility by watching Grand Tour, he is just an idiot. I am electronic engineer and have all the data. There is no ecologically better technology than e mobility as long as the electric vehicles are powered by renewable energy. If you consider that the lifetime of a electric vehicle outruns the lifetime of a combustion vehicle by far and doesn't need service for the engine, the vehicle is even by design a lot more ecological friendly.

I think fuel cell cars come really close if not slightly better if you produce the Hydrogen using renewables. But youre absolutely, with state of the art and renewable energy battery production electric cars easily outperform combustion vehicles.

When you compare this to other races of machines against any humans or animals, you can always notice that the human/animal is always faster in the beginning.
Why this is feel like a war ( human , robot , and animal ) ?
What i loved the most was the concern for the cheetah and what this represents!! Cheetah are the underdog of the big cats and catch it from all sides. I love all big cats but there is something about the cheetah and snow leopard have a big piece of my heart. They are lower in numbers then the others. I glad people are coming together to try to make a better place for our wildlife. Without our wildlife we cant make it. I have said this a lot, we have right now to get the ecosystem right, if we fail our wildlife we too shall fall!!

It's 2 am in the night and I just finished watching this after reading the comments on the original video. Cheetahs have been one of my favourite animals since childhood. Its so sad to see their numbers decreasing so fast. Amazing video and production. I just hope co2 emissions reduce in the near future else someday humans will be on the verge of extinction as well.

Arguably one of the most elegant and beautiful animals in the world.
Incredible video, with a truly incredible message. I cheered the cheetah as if I was cheering my local football team. Alas, it lost but only by the slightest of margins. But when you consider what it was pitted against, it was a truly remarkable achievement. Also, perhaps as pointed by other commentators below, it probably would have gone faster if it had real prey, most especially if feeding her family depended upon that kill.

There are some moments I got emotional for mother nature in this video. Formula E is going to be important for our kids, maybe around summer I will purchase my first car and the Formula E engagement so far in my life is making me seriously consider an electric car. This technology has so much potential, like who knows in 50 years if we'll be using rubber wheels or magnets.
