They were a big influence for Jamie St Merat who might be the best metal drummer in existence. Check out his band Ulcerate they're really something special.
You gotta do a full album reaction of this, In case you didnt listen to the full of it yet by curiosity, The whole album is a Beast from start to finish
I’d never heard anything like this when it came out. The riffs are technical but memorable. Flos drumming set new standards. And Lord Worms vocals are totally unique. The whole of None So Vile is a masterpiece
Beast of an album. Cryptopsy basically pushed the Suffocation formula to its extreme, its totally overwhelming at first listen but the energy, intensity and those small groovy parts peppered everywhere makes you come back for more. Its very brutal and extremely intelligent at the same time, very very few bands can pull this off, it sounds genuinely unhinged.
I think you hit the nail on the head with that last part. So many bands try and fake the funk but Cryptopsy just comes off as legitimately disturbed. Only other band that does this that I can think of is Deicide
Hell yeah :) Now for a serious, serious Technical Death Metal classic. One of the greatest albums. And the best part is that the songs get more intense and complex as it goes. Lord Worm has a rare range. 8:30 perfect analysis. "Angel in the dark", you nailed it :)
Definitely, the unhingedness is accentuated by Flo sometimes speeding up or slowing down the pace during certain sections (as opposed to in between sections)
I remember a year ago watching some Cannibal Corpse reactions and seeing your freshly posted “first metal band” reaction and thinking “hm I wonder if she’ll stick with it” but I haven’t followed the channel at all and forgot about it. Now a year later I decide to search some Cryptopsy reactions and see you fully digging some of the heaviest stuff out there with all this metal merch in the background and rocking an Aborted tee. Absolutely insane progression for someone who is only a year into their metal journey. All the respect 🤘
THIS. THIS. Whisper Supremacy would be a much refined and interesting listening experience. Lots of dumb, senseless hate for MIke Di Salvo. I can get it, his style is not from everyone, fine. But the performance, songwriting, arrangements and most importantly, Cryptopsy's violent bursts and explosions of brutality are showcased in this album in the best way possible.
Grave of the fathers is my personal favorite track from the same album. Flo Mounier on the drums is so fucking insane on this album, he really helps set the groove.
Do a live video with the lead singer eating worms. I remember one show where he fed worms to some (willing) person in the crowd and she nearly puked right there lmao. Instant regret!
I remember going thru a stack of cryptopsy albums with my uncle, and reading out loud the album titles : me: "None so vile" my unle : "and there ain't" me : "and then you'll beg" my uncle : "and you will" 😂😂😂
Nobody said it so I will. "As Gomorrah Burns" > "None so Vile" lets be real None so vile just has a lot of nostalgia fan boys which I totally respect but the modern production and refined sound win all day long.
I hope one day you check out Intestine Baalism’s debut, “An Anatomy of the Beast”. Then eventually the rest of the catalog (only 2 other albums). The best true melodic death metal out there.
Kudos to this girl for not taking the easy money-making route of sticking with the same stuff to react to like Jinjer, Slipknot, Nirvana, Metallica, Lorna Shore, etc. Hopefully the lower view count isn't discouraging. Sometimes you get more out of the art you ingest if you seek out what hits you the hardest, rather than what will garner you acceptance and popularity.
So just kinda throwing this out there, but if you dig Cryptopsy, you'll be instantly attached to Neuraxis. I recommend the song "Of Divinity". That track in particular kinda reminds me of Vehemence too.
Cryptopsy was at the top IMO. I think their last great album was Once was not (2005). After that, it's been hit or miss but nothing truly outstanding. If you really want to know what Cryptopsy is about, Whisper Supremacy would be a much refined and interesting listening experience. Lots of dumb, senseless hate for MIke Di Salvo (their singer on this and the follow up album). I can get it, his style is not from everyone, fine. But the performance, songwriting, arrangements and most importantly, Cryptopsy's violent bursts and explosions of brutality are showcased in that album (Whisper) in the best way possible.
I have to say, i used to hate those two albums, but now i think they are great. It was the vocals, and im glad i could see past it and actually enjoy the vocals and the albums. Edit. The albums being Whisper supremacy and Then you'll beg. You sir know what you're talking about.
You need to hear the best and most up-to-date death/thrash metal from Brazil. CRYPTA and NERVOSA. Bands formed ONLY by WOMEN!!! With diverse influences but rooted in classics like Morbid Angels, Kreator, Death and outside the box from Brazil like Sepultura and Krisiun.
Unless they give you a pass for the b word they are one of the most representative band of the old school death metal genre wich lose all its sense if you label them as b***** death metal they are not the type of band that came out with a video for their first song.
You haven't done any death/doom and Gothic Metal, yet. Paradise Lost - Gothic (death/doom) Anathema - Memento Mori Anathema - A Wish to Die Crematory - Tears of Time Theatre of Tragedy - Bring Forth Ye Shadow/Cheerful Dirge The Sins of Thy Beloved - Forever (live) Tristania - Aphelion
What are your thoughts on Cryptopsy? Thanks for watching! ❤
goats
Classick Technical BDM!!! 😀 👍 ❤
They were a big influence for Jamie St Merat who might be the best metal drummer in existence. Check out his band Ulcerate they're really something special.
A huge influence to a lot of new bands, the first albums are classics. Too bad the new stuff is too modern, but alas.
Best Canadian DM out there.
a must have record/cd/tape in any metalhead collection, no matter your favourite genre
You need to hear Phobophile as well.
The song that got a lot of people into Cryptopsy haha
@@omarlopez1372 me being one of them I guess
That's the best!
I used to think phobophile was the best but I can't deny Graves of the fathers. Phobophile is still my favorite though
Graves of the fathers ❤

Eric bass is also genius, the solo, the slapping technique he put in this album is an orgasmic experience to be had.
None So Vile is one of the best death metal albums of all time, would be cool to see a track by track review

@@xpropriation8505other is Defeated sanity...in this realm of course...because unhinged is PYRRHON but that is ....too much for startes!!😅
@@isaackmojica8302 Dying Fetus too, technical and brutal just like all the afformentioned bands
None So Vile is hands down a top 10 death metal album
Please do the whole album, its amazing!
Might as well just spin the whole album, it’s a banger 🔥
that little bass solo at 3:51 followed by that riff always gets me going. Its so crunchy and the riff is so filthy
Flo is such a killer drummer.
\m/
I discoverd this record half a year ago and it absolutely stands as one of my favorites.
Cant believe this is around *twenty seven* years old. Legendary track, legendary album
A None So Vile deep dive would be fun.
Love this! One of the best and first albums that got me into metal! ❤ 🤘🏻
I do that rather well, don’t you think?
You started really deep into it
Hell yeah :) Now for a serious, serious Technical Death Metal classic. One of the greatest albums. And the best part is that the songs get more intense and complex as it goes.
Lord Worm has a rare range.
8:30 perfect analysis. "Angel in the dark", you nailed it :)
You should do deicide next
YES, Deicide is legendary.
This song and album are monumental. At the top of the mountain among others worthy.
Everything on None So Vile is very raw. Probably was recorded without a click, so it has that organic feeling.
Definitely, the unhingedness is accentuated by Flo sometimes speeding up or slowing down the pace during certain sections (as opposed to in between sections)
Oh you out here listening to the real deal stuff on a lot of your vids. Subbed.
Heaviest album ever imo, also my favorite death metal album.

Masterpiece of an album if you’re able to understand.
Do a live video with the lead singer eating worms. I remember one show where he fed worms to some (willing) person in the crowd and she nearly puked right there lmao. Instant regret!
Lord Worm rules!!! 😀 😎 👍 ❤!! He's a English teacher in CANADA!!
Best album ever. Shits on everything else.
And thanks for reaction, btw.
I remember going thru a stack of cryptopsy albums with my uncle, and reading out loud the album titles :
me: "None so vile" my unle : "and there ain't" me : "and then you'll beg" my uncle : "and you will" 😂😂😂
Banger
This is the best reaction because I react with the same expressions a little crisper air drumming to Flo's drumming parts.
Old school kataklysm, songs like the rays of Ra or dead zygote... Sure worth it too
Read Lord Worms lyrics on this album if you haven't yet!
The Snare Sound is perfect.
Nobody said it so I will. "As Gomorrah Burns" > "None so Vile" lets be real None so vile just has a lot of nostalgia fan boys which I totally respect but the modern production and refined sound win all day long.

Graves of the fathers is another banger from this, super fun to play on guitar
💙💛
One of my favorite songs ever
Lord Worm really is the best extreme metal lyricist. Or at least I think so. Beautiful and fucked up!
All hail Lord Worm !!
yearrrr....one of my loving album

@@kasubarukun22 I'm glad you gave those two albums a chance. Most people didn't. Their loss I guess jaja
Seen them live 2001 I think. Was the last show I Feared 4 my Life🤘🤘💀
Nearly perfect commentary
There's nothing better than old school death metal
Phobophile is a must
I love Cyrptopsy! 🤤
Classic Bolt Thrower back out there...
Best album of cryptopsy is "and then you'll beg" and best song ever is we bleed of the same album
How do you like the new Brodequin single Of Pillars and Trees?
I wish you would do Benedictine Convulsions from this same album next 👌
You should do a deep dive into once was not.
Lord worm. The OG vocalist came back for that. The 5th album.
Got the same shirt beautiful! 😊
Cryptopsy is very good
Thier demo is amazing. Listen to that
hell yeah \m/
You should listen to Origin band , their album Antithesis , Iit Is brutal death metal AND groovy
Origin are awesome. Unrelenting and fast.
Buckle your seat belt
What's the song playing in the background when you were talking initially???

Funny how you have loved Cryptosy so far yet so many life long "metalheads" and "core kids" would hate this
Watch a video of John Longstreth drumming to an Origin song next. Similar level of inhuman.
goooood u like cryptopsy 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nile on steroids!
I love you!
This album great.
Sorry they did this to you😂 it is very Hard to feel, cause flo mounier breaks rythm very often
U need to listen to mortician necrocannibal u will like
