      Congrats . I'm waiting patiently for when Subaru releases WRX STI FA24 TURBO with 400+ HP from the Factory.
      I had 2010 STI Hatchback and absolutely loved it . I kick myself in the ass every single day for selling . Oh well the FA24 TURBO should make up for it . Subaru been saying for 2 years now they are releasing FA24 TURBO with 440 HP . So we will see ..

      I am trying to break my 2021 sti in gently but the car just won't have it. Only 300 miles on the clock so far and I just try not to redline it. Forget only 4krpm, i was cranking it up to 6k after day 1 for better or worse. I don't beat it I just drive it. I now see why everyone beats the crap out of these cars though. Going from a 2017 wrx to this is night and day. The sti just wants you to pound it and says give me more. The wrx was a regular slightly sporty car but this is a real machine. I'm not a big mods guy but I wanted more than the standard wrx could deliver. And I found it and then some.

    I wanted in wr blue but I got crystal white. Compared to other cars I used to own, I’m not that thrilled but it’s okay for my daily. Also there’s lots of things I hate about sti such as audio, Recaro seat, mpg, weak HP/TQ n basic functions like no auto door lock. Next time I’ll test drive cars before purchasing and not listening to UA-camrs reviews. Anyway congratulations on your new purchase and new subscriber supporter here because you deserves much more loves.

    If I have a suggestion if I were you, but you don't have to listen... Before starting the car, start the pump first. So hit the start button twice, THEN hold the clutch down and hit start. It's always nicer for the car to get fuel going into the lines before starting the car.

    The current gen sti disproves the 'new is always better (or necessary)' theory. It's a total blast to drive. If they never improve it, it's still be a blast to drive. And it's certainly fast enough, as is, to scare the crap out of yourself on public roads.

    Have you ever driven an audi, bmw, or even the new miata? Compared to those both the wrx and sti have pretty crappy clutches. I love my wrx 20 prem and test drove sti, but the clutch is lacking even with mods it's acceptable. The new miata clutch bite point and shifter is just a dream compared to our whips. Subaru def can approve in the new gen. Congrats on the upgrade!

    • @jakegelfand759
      @jakegelfand759 3 роки тому +1

      If you’re talking STI, going down to 2nd needs a little bit more of a bump than the higher gears, and it also helps when letting off of the clutch to treat it a bit like first, ease off of the clutch while getting into the throttle

    • @wevy21
      @wevy21 3 роки тому +1

      Should the bump be around 2k to 2.5k when doing it on a 2020 sti

    • @jakegelfand759
      @jakegelfand759 3 роки тому +2

      @@wevy21 it’s more about learning the RPMs at a certain speed per gear than a set 2k/2.5k RPMs vs the current gear. Try slowly accelerating through the RPM band in 2nd and learn what the RPMs are at various speeds for that gear. It won’t take long for it to become 2nd nature. I can’t remember specifically what they are offhand but I’ve learned the feel of it and now I just do it without thinking.

    • @ChristianHudnell
      @ChristianHudnell  3 роки тому +2

      Going from 3rd to 2nd is difficult to learn. My advice, most downshift into second when they are too high a speed in 3rd. The more you drive and feel the car the better. When I go from 3rd to 2nd I release clutch a tad slower and I also allow car to slow down that extra second before shifting. Also, when blipping throttle it doesn’t really need much since rpms will jump a lot cause of gearing of 2nd. That is how I usually like to do it. Hope that helps. Thanks everyone for commenting and watching
