If you are a beginner in Grasshopper, this Paneling Tools tutorial is made for you. Here we are going to talk about a plugin for Grasshopper, called Paneling tools and we are going to start with the basics first. First, we will learn how to divide the surface into subsurfaces using different division methods. You'll learn how to create rectangular, diagonal, triangular panels, how to modify these panels using point and curve attractors.
In addition to that, with Paneling Tools for Grasshopper, you can create a custom pattern of panels on a curved surface that is more accurate than if you would use mapping on the surface.
Furthermore, we will share how to create 3D panels which can be used to generate truss structure. You can also use it to create a custom geometry that can be equally distributed along the surface, something similar to the Morph component. All of these techniques can be applied to any architecture element whether it's a facade, ceiling, floor, door etc.

you lost me at 1:38 haha I guess I am a more beginner than even this. watched it twice from zero to one had the general logic at first and then now will try to apply it myself play around for a bit! this would be super suer useful for my upcoming design project at uni ! thanks mate!
this video is gold
Thanks Fabian, we appreciate it!
Great video!!👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Sharon, glad you like it!
Hey bro! Make a video about how to do a Stadium in Rhino please!! 👍
Gracias.
You’re welcome
Hi, I'm making a model of the Heydar Aliyev Centre using GH for the panelling, I'm trying to find some way of connecting the panels into one geometry so it can be 3D printed. If possible I would greatly appreciate your help :)
Im using a surface which is more triangular, so the grid flows off of the surface and creates "incomplete" grid panels. How would I go about trimming the surface to include the pieces of panels that land within the surface boundaries?
thanks ahead bro!
One general question...
How would one make these panels to physically construct a real work? The panels have to connect to each other and they are at an angle. Will the edges be cnc at angle? In that case if the angle of the panel is positive and negative to adjacent panels, CNC can't be done from both sides. Hope my query is clear.
Hey brother this question isnt related to this tutorial but i hope you could answer it
Could you please help as my rendered viewport shows strecth marks on the surface of the model which dont look good at all
please could you help with the solution
Screenshot would be helpful?
i don't have your setup. Can't find Y size and V count ...
I am stuck at 4.47- My list item only allows me to output one item. How do i add more please?
Simply zoom in on the List Item component and click the plus sign to add more outputs
"My output from ‘divide surface’ does not come out as dashed lines, and because of this, after ‘flatten tree’ and ‘pull points’, my output is not double-lined! I have checked everything milioooooooon times 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 and did not understand the reason, and another question is, can I have your file?
