How to Make a Wedding Bouquet

  • There've been moments when I've been in a pinch and needed a bouquet for a photo shoot. It could've been because I was on a tight budget or I simply couldn't get a bouquet professionally made in time, but I wanted to share how I made a bouquet on a budget for a recent shoot. Before you watch the video, please take into consideration that prices for flowers depend heavily on your location and, when possible, use a professional florist since she's best suited to create a stunning bouquet. But if you need to make your own, I hope this helps!

I love how humble you are , definitely did a great job..
I have been a florist ,mainly weddings for a few years now..Getting the right combination of flowers and texture are a big thing,u nailed it..
I see some DIY brides and I cringe , I think to myself ekkk your photos for a life time..😂😂😂
Just a hint though, when u are about to finish your ribbon make sure u have worked out what side is the most photogenic ,then finish with the pins on the opposite side..
That way u can always tell your bride pins to the back when holding..
    Hope that makes sence...😁

It's also important to instruct brides in how to HOLD their bouquets, when going down the isle, and recessing back. Too many brides look like the "Statue of Liberty", and hold their bouquets like TORCHES, instead of in FRONT of their body, just below the waist.
Remember: a bouquet is NOT A TORCH!

@Abiya Syed Actually I know people who have been married 4-5 times so it depends on how healthy the relationship is and such. Plus, you can also have a "redo" wedding incase yours wasn't up to your standards the first time like my parents. Also just depends on what your beliefs are as well. :) like for me personally, I could care less about how perfect the wedding is because to me it more so matters about the relationship I have with my spouse.

Also the thing about flower arrangements and bouquets is that most people at your wedding, won't remember exactly what you picked anyway. I was looking at wedding pics from my sister's wedding and I totally forgot that she gave us (bridesmaids) faux flower arrangements. They weren't the best looking but no one, not even the people holding them, remembers them. As the host says, you need to appreciate your bouquet as it is when making it yourself especially on a budget

Well, I'm not going to be mean. I'm sure that, since this is for a photo shoot, you will find your angles. Something to think about, though. Why not make a fake flower bouquet you can use over and over again. I got married in Korea--my wife's country--and they were really good at making fake stuff look real. The photo shoot was so cheap that way!

Would be a good idea to take a short floristry course or two.For a start to learn spiralling so that your bouquet sits properly instead of flat stems. Also to learn proper flower placement , collaring and how to wrap properly. Not a bad job, but definitely not good enough to make an instruction video off.
