Well, I'm not the first and I certainly wont be the last. But I'm glad I was able to get my perspective on the matter out there. It's not my intention to go big on UA-cam, but I hope that others who are passionate about the Super Mario Universe will find these videos and that it can bring some joy to them.
Do you plan on covering Mario lore after this series ends? I really dig this research and I think it would be interesting to tackle other lore bits and theories.
I'm glad it's been interesting for you. There's honestly not much more lore that I feel the need to cover beyond what is already contained within the Super Mario Universe Timeline. For the purposes of this timeline I only chose to include information found within the games and their instruction manual. There are oceans of supplemental canon that could be considered Mario lore. I found all of that to be difficult to include in the timeline for various reasons, but maybe my videos will inspire someone like yourself to forge your own interpretation of the lore of the Mario Universe.
You are correct, and either way it wouldn't really affect anything else in the timeline. I simply believe that in universe it is more reasonable to believe that he is DK Jr's brother than it is to assume that his name is Jerry and that he is just his friend or something. But I wouldn't fault anyone that thought otherwise.
No where in game or in the instruction manual does it identify the main character. I assume it to be Mario simply due to similarity in appearance. Funnily enough Ossan does appear in Captain Rainbow which is covered in chapter 7.

I can't remember where but I recall it's been stated DKJ takes place right after DKA and that DK Snr. was caged for his crimes, and probably implies DK Jr. existed before DKA. It doesn't really change much about your timeline. I one of my previous responses to you I mentioned the plot of DKA so I would note DK Snr. isn't really evil. I'd note while DK94 seems to have originally been intended to be the og game but expanded upon because of a dev interview with Miyamoto, due to the canonization of the Classic Suit among other things it's probably best seen as a separate event. As I mentioned in one of my previous responses I mentioned the plot of DKA, so I would disagree with is when Pauline's romance with Mario began given they are intended to already be dating, and DK Snr. just kidnapped Pauline Mario's girlfriend to get a rise out of him. I think the Pink DK Jr. is a color swap equivalent to the Luigi color swaps in Luigi's Mansion and not actually a canon character. Since Mario is stated Mario watches the performance Mario probably doesn't run the Circus let alone with Donkey Kong but is watching DK perform. I believe this is where they met and Mario ultimately would purchase DK from the Circus leading into DK Hockey and eventually DKA. Big Ape City of Big City is probably just what New Donk was called before it was title New Donk. Note, Big Ape City is not a name found in the Japanese and is just Big City. Peach in SMO mentions she wants to head back tot he Big City. I think DK94 takes place sometime after Lost Levels due to him wearing his Modern Outfit. I don't think Mario moves to his castle after DK94 and that he got his Castle and the land Mario Land in the Mario Party game that features Mario Land.

In this timeline I only include information found directly in the games and their instruction manuals. Yes, I wouldn't fault anyone for not thinking DK Jr II is DK Jr's brother. I simply believe that in universe it's a more reasonable assumption to make than it is to say that they aren't related. But it doesn't really affect anything else in the universe either way. Since there’s so little information given in these earlier games, I just assume them all to take place on their release dates. I think it’s important to be consistent and say that their date of occurrence coincides with their real-life release dates since there’s no concrete evidence suggesting otherwise. I simply consider New Donk City and Big Ape City to be adjacent cities. I’m not sure if I would use something like design choice to move the date of occurrence for a game.
@@prizm9515 on the later part the Classic Outfit is something acknowledged in universe to be what Mario used to wear. But it's also referenced on the website. Mario is like Sonic in a way. Where the Classic Sonic and Eggman designs changing to the modern ones is something that canonically happens in universe.

Isnt the character in Golf seperate from Mario (I think his name was Ossan or something like that)
