My favourit Mario 1 glitch is "Small Firemario", it is done in the same way as "Bowser Glitch Trick" but you need to be Fire Mario. And you guessed it, you are Firemario when small Mario!
There is another trick for SMB 3. This one allows you to take away Bowser's fire. You must enter his castle with a 'P-Wing" and keep it until you reach Bowser's Lair. Once you enter his lair immediately fly up the left-hand wall. You will eventually get to the top. Once you do, walk all the way to the left. Then turn around and go back to Bowser's lair and he will be fire free.
In regards to SMB2's "instant death" trick by pausing the game and pressing "Up A&B" on controller 2, was put in the game's code in case you wanted to start a level over or in my case, pissing off your little brother. This trick also came in handy as bugs were discovered while fighting some bosses. The two biggest culprits are Fry Guy and Clawglip/Clawgrip. The thing with Fry Guy, we all know that once you hit him with the Mushroom blocks the initial four times, he splits up into four little ones. Where the bug comes into play is if you were to hit all four little Fry Guys with one blow, there could be a chance that the exit door will not appear. As for Clawgrip, this too can happen, but it is a little harder to have the door not appear. On occasions, when you throw a rock back at him, it just might hit a rock he just threw giving you a double hit. If this is done for hits four and five, there just might be a chance the exit door will not appear. Once these bugs were discovered, NOA updated the ROM in later productions of the game.
"In regards to SMB2's "instant death" trick by pausing the game and pressing "Up A&B" on controller 2, was put in the game's code in case you wanted to start a level over" Cool... and why should I believe you?

Hey Gruz. About the dying to Bowser and killing him at the same time trick in SMB1, would be cool if you would have mentioned small fire. You probably already know, but if you are big Mario and take a hit while defeating Bowser at the same time, you will be able to become small Mario with fire if you collect a fire plant on a next level if you don't take damage again. It tricks the game into thinking you are big Mario while using the small sprite.
Is anyone else gonna talk about how at the end of the video he says “you’ll defiantly wanna check out this video where I went over all the must know tricks of the original super Mario trilogy” which is the EXACT video you just watched.
FYI, a large bulk of these tricks were originally posted on my site back in the 90s. I even did a video on the history of the discovery of debug mode as well.
I love videos like these because as a kid i used to do these things and not know how i did them…they just happened but i didn’t know the circumstances. no one could explain how or why….now there is. Thanks!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Regarding the hidden 1-ups. In addition to warping and collecting all the coins in the -3 level that proceeds it, if you continue after a game over, the 1up will also be there.
I forget where I read it. When you spit-kill Bowser in SMB1, you see what enemy he actually was. That's why when Bowser dies at the end of worlds 1-7, he's STILL ALIVE into the next world. Only in World 8 is it TRULY Bowser.
Learned about most of these features previously from watching Kosmic and Mitch. They don't regularly play smb2(u), so some of those glitches i have first seen in this vid. I remember the waterfall logs being launched by throwing pow blocks in my casual game play of ages ago, but really wish i had known enemies could be also launched upwards in another way. Overall favorite detail is the smb3 debug mode with game genie. Really good compilation, hope to see Gruz man return with personal in your face videos again some day.
SMB Bowser Hammers: I'm 97.6% sure it's not that the fact the hammers are thrown backwards but that only the first few hammers have a hit box due to limitations in how much space is available for hammer hitbox locations and the ones that are thrown backwards are always the last ones thrown.
I never got how people learned these back in the day my brother he was older but some how knew about small fire Mario and the turtle jump ultimates lives
So that thing with Bowser in SM1 and killing him with fireballs? I didn't know people thought that was a glitch. I knew about the fake Bowsers since the '80s.
😂😂😂 this is so cool. Why didn't you show the two glitches in Mario 1? The first one you can make mario glide by jumping out of a pipe in world 1-2 by pressing AB at the same time and moving left and right. The second glitch happens at the top of any vine simply climb to the top and keep pressing up and mario does a funky electric dance.
You forgot the johnny apple seed trick where u hit the ax and bowser at the same time with the fire flower. Youll turn small but on the next stage get a fire flower and youll be small mario with the fire flower power and whats neat is when u shoot a fireball he turn big and the shrink back
Hey maybe you'll see this message. In SMB2 there is a 4th stage warp that never showed up in Nintendo Power.. and as such.. has NEVER appeared in any video like this. It is on the stage after the second warp everyone knows and involves skipping the door to the end of the stage and using a potion to flip to a secret tunnel.

I learned wall clipping in the 80’s and thought the kid that showed me was a genius. There were other glitches that are not shown on Super Mario 1 in this video. Still a great video.
In SMB 1 you can jump over the flagpole on stage 3-3 to experience a never ending castle wall. Also if glitching through the wall on 1-2 the warp pipes will be stage _-1& 5-1and _-1, the _-1 stage is a recursive waterstage very similar to stage 2-2 & 7-2.
My sister and I always loved "stinky cheese head Mario" it's a glitch that would happen if the cartridge was dirty seemingly and would make his head look like a big old block of cheese haha
One of the places you can clip thru the wall in Bowser's Castle you end up getting stuck. I remember doing this as a kid. I had a pwing and was upset cause I had to wait out the timer to die.
If you take that first glitch shown in here, you'll wind up in the second room that leads to Bowser if you took the lower path. You WILL get stuck if you try it there as the screen doesn't scrool to the right as it did in the other path.
