I have already seen Band-Maid and Scandal in NYC (2019 & 2018) I hope I can see both of them live again, even if I have to go to Japan! :) and more like Aldious and Polkadotstingray and Fern Planet / Rick Rack and Lovebites, etc. haha, so good, the all-women rock scene in Japan is on the rise and I've been enjoying every minute of it for more than 5 years now, so good.

Having BAND-MAID, LOVEBITES and maybe BABYMETAL as headliners considering they're by far the most popular overseas, asides Scandal, which you've already mentioned. I would go to NYC if I could but my mental health isn't good enough for big trips and I'm 7 hours away from the Big Apple. I live near the Upstate NY border, just a bit farther north... but NYC is much farther away than that. My best shot at getting to see some of my favourite groups/bands from Japan is definitely if they visit Montreal, either at a venue or for Heavy Montréal or something (BABYMETAL was there in 2014 but hasn't come back since :")
Anime definitely drove their popularity overseas, but I've seen the pillows three times in San Francisco. Only one of those shows being directly linked to the new FLCL series. Also saw Shonen Knife a few years ago but they had their peak of popularity in the US in the '90s after being mentioned by Kurt Cobain. Still great now, but several members have changed.
Koga is godlike! But you are right, Serina moves into the same general stylistic direction which is awesome! Really like this song. I think it sounds more developed and mature compared to the early videos.

WOW. excellent song. so many people say things like "That girl band rocks" close your eyes is it still a girl band, NO, the mastery of their instruments is so good and tight. TRiDENT and these other Japanese bands, don't sell sex or simple music, they don't use autotune. They rock!
Regardless if you close your eyes as you say you still her a female vocalist so yes it still is a girl band. Some people prefer girl bands over guy bands some it's the opposite and some like both regardless if the music is good.
I think it's worth mentioning girl or female band. There is definitely an overtone in rock that it's a guy's genre - you can see it in that most live audiences are majority male and also majority of bands are male. Being a rocker and excellent rocker shouldn't mean you're manly or masculine, and these excellent musicians here are a prime example of that. Rock is for everyone!
@@Entilogue I can get behind that. Especially for male-less bands like TRiDENT, Hagane, Nemophila, and Hanabie that are building their fanbase by working their arses off performing and being excellent - oftentimes with women members who bring their own individual fanbase to the band.

I knew Serina had this kind of performance in her. You could see little bits of it in Voltage, Splash and No Regret. I take nothing away from Asaka and Nagisa as they shine as well. I can't wait until March for the limited edition from Tower records.
Hi Ramair! I knew Serina always had it, Too! Asaka writes the songs. Interpersonal interaction has a lot to do with it. Asaka has gotten back to sharing the limelight. Maybe there were differences on a professional level that didn't mesh between Asaka and Junna. It will be interesting to see how things turn out for Junna now that she has joined Nocturnal Symphony. @@ramair3judge Ramair: Thanks for the link! I've heard them before. With the exception of the lead singer, Nocturnal Symphony is tighter than Unlucky Morpheus. The musicians are great in BOTH groups. To be honest, I'm a little disappointed with the vocals. I think, over time, Nocturnal Symphony will improve. Nocturnal Symphony is already up there with their non-vocal work! Russ
