TRiDENT was formed the same year as Band Maid as friends right out of high school. They started as a four piece with another guitarist but she left the band after one album and one video. They were formally known as Girls Rock Band Kakumei (Revolution). They change the band name after Junna the drummer left the band. Asaka (Vo & Gt)) and Serina (Ba) are the original members. Nagisa the current drummer is from the band Quince. She is very similar in style to Junna. They are a very loud and energetic band. They were probably the prolific band of 2021, releasing four albums and EP albums. They are releasing a mini album this autumn called D-X and their just released song "Spoopy" is a must listen.
@P in D² Yeah and their GRBK channel was spelled out in Japanese didn't help find them. Plus they have removed several early video with Junna and rerecorded and released some of their earlier material. I think there is still versions of "No Regret" on their channel to compare.
favorite band right now.. luv watching u rock on as you watched... they are just sooooo accomplished and amazingly gorgeous and kewl. all they need is exposure and they will be ridiculously huge.. girl power!
I came across Trident a couple of months ago and had a similar reaction as you. I hadn’t seen this video but in the ones I have watched the drumming was insane. It isn’t as evident in the video as the drumming is mostly straight up. Check out the video “Spoopy.” Great choice and reaction.
"God damn!", Thanks Ryan you said it for me 🤗 What a powerhouse trio, woo hoo new band for me to explore, as we said in Oz - rippa - cheers, peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎤🎸🍻
They started out as a quartet in 2015 as Girls Rock Band Kakumei but the 2nd guitarist left in 2016 and they stayed a trio. The original drummer was Junna (yes, the pint-sized beast of drum covers) but she left in 2020. They got a new drummer Nagisa, who is pretty awesome, and renamed the band TRiDENT. They've always been good but with "Ambivalent" and "Spoopy" I think they have stepped it up a notch.
I was just about to write pretty much the same thing about ex-ガールズロックバンド革命 and Junna, and yes, stupid title notwithstanding they outdid themselves with Spoopy.
TRIDENT’s best song. Pretty cool lyrics about self actualization. Live performance video paired with studio recording. Thanks for showing me how to play the bass line. SPOOPY is their latest and hardest video.
Ngl TRiDENT is a bit of a hit or miss for me, not everything i've listen from them makes me go "whoa". But when they hit, like with Ambivalent, damn it feels really good!
Most underrated band... I LOVE TRiDENT! Band-Maid is my favorite, but most of my playlists are with Band-Maid and TRiDENT, i love their energy :) And i love the fact NAGISA is their new drummer... YES, JUNNA is freaking amazing, but she is not a drummer for an band IMO and NAGISA is also on an insane level and fits perfect!
Love the bass. Already had Trident down as another band to check out following seeing them once on a stream with Wave, and this certainly enforces that!
Hello. I went to a live concert on June 18th (Shunan Japan)! It was a small venue with an audience of 30 people. I was dancing almost like a party. The playing ability and cuteness of the three people are excellent! "Especially Nagisa's drumming, Asaka's vocals, Serina's slap bass) They value live performances in local cities in Japan very much. It was a very happy night 😊
As I hear more and more great bands, I like to make new playlists for myself. Trident is one of the bands that go on all my playlist, they are a really good band.
I found TRiDENT before I found BAND-MAID.....They were the first Japanese band I had ever listened to....And instantly found them appealing..Despite not knowing what they were singing...Great catchy tunes and excellent musicianship...Plus the MV's were fun!...My.. "Japanese Ladies Rock" playlist consists of BAND-MAID and TRiDENT tracks (with Cluppo & BAND-MAIKO..extras..hehehe).....I haven't taken to BABYMETAL or LOVEBITES..Of course I have a number of BAND-MAID playlists...Each to suit the depressive mood I'm in when out....I know there are more Japanese female bands.....but I don't feel the need to investigate them. TRiDENT..woke me up....and BAND-MAID gave me reason to be thankful I was still alive.
Trident really is great, I feel like they get a bit over looked sometimes in the sea of great musical artists coming out of Japan. Which says more to the level of talent coming out of Japan than it does of Trident.
I love this band. Re this song, is it just me or are there some riffs and licks here and there that sort of sound like a certain band that dresses in black and white, po? And yeah, the layers of beautiful sound out of just a 3-piece band is really stunning.
They are awesome, this is a great song but I like more "Just Fight"...and the shiny new "Spoopy" (and more heavier) in close second place. Great reaction!
I only discovered them about a month ago, and that song just blows me away. Nope - no guitar solo. BUT - I can kind of trade that for a whole song of Bass Solos!
Haha great! :) Well done on the bass line! Please check out their song "Alive" for another great bass moment AND a guitar solo! Not to mention amazing drumming, too!
I am so glad I found this music I've been listening to this about 5 years ago the first thing I listen to that got me checking around, Ningen ISU , heartles scat with lyrics
The more I listen to their 1st album, the more I feel some "old band maid vibes" (brand new maid and just bring it albums) on the sound, structures & vocals !
The crazy thing about this is, the main hook is ONE NOTE repeated three times (dotted-quarter, dotted-quarter, quarter). But they can get away with it, in fact it probably hits harder, like a drop but four times per chorus, because everything else has a contrasting complexity.
I’ve been b!tchin’ the last 15 years about no good new music out there. I guess I have been living with my head up my a$$. The women of Japan are something special! Thanks for this introduction to another amazing band 🤘
Stumbled across these ladies a few weeks ago. These girls can play. Another killer band is Rolling Quartz out of Korea. Another all female band that I believe has a brilliant future.
Just came here from your Spoopy reaction. Yes, Trident are the real thing. I left a little history on the Spoopy reaction. Their problem is the sheer overflow of great bands in Japan. How on earth does one compete in that ecosystem?
Waooo!!!....Congratulations my friend Ryan!! ...I want invite you to give us your opinion, reacting to who is considered the best singer of the world...His name is Dimash Kudaibergen, a young singer who handle 7 octaves and 3 semitones of vocal range (An alien)...He has been singing since he was 5 years (he is 28 now) and he can sing in more than 15 languages...But if you decide to react to Dimash for the first time, please don't do it with his most recent songs ... I recommend that you go to the year 2017 and react to the song that made him a global idol ... I mean the performance he did of the famous French song called "SOS D'un Terrien en Détresse", when he participated in the famous Chinese reality show The Singer in that year 2017 ... With that performance Dimash earned the reputation of being the best singer on the planet, so I recommend you start with that one...You have to be prepared because you are likely to receive a flood of views, comments and new subscribers....And I have to give you a warning: Never react to The World Best videos, because they deceived him and treated him very badly.!...I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Dimash....Here you have the best high quality video of Dimash performing S.O.S. Live 2017.....ua-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/v-deo.html
Junna was the beast behind the kit early on and her version video on voltage is still out there....I know wade has done alot of vids on her....you mentioned last Sunday how kanami was on the cover of guitar world....junna is rated #2 drummer ahead of Akane and 6 years younger.....and apparently doing a project with Marty freidman
Dude you ned to listen to more TRiDENT. I love them, they are my go to when I got to walk somewhere. I put TRiDENT in my ear and makes the journey so much better. Oh and a fun fact, The singer in TRiDENT before they were called that was the rhythm guitar player, before they other guitarist quit the group.
Ryan it's never too late, just put some time every day to practice it. dedicate yourself to getting it. I can tell by what you played so far. Just remember that famous line in Water Boy. .......You can do it !.....You can do it, all night long !.....Getter Done !
While we should no longer be amazed at what's coming out of Japan, the next Japanese band we hear would just proceed to wow us anyway. Heh. I'm sure not complaining.
Trident is a really good, really underrated band. Personally, I'm glad GRBK didn't work out. If Junna couldn't be bothered to even put the band's name on her Bass drum, she probably never really considered herself a member. They are better as Trident with Nagisa.
Interesting - I actually knew about and listened to GRBK after I discovered Junna's drum cover videos. I liked them a lot at the time. Didn't notice the connection with the 2 former members in Trident. For some reason makes me an even bigger fan of Trident now🥰
I don't like to mention other bands on reactions but you seriously should listen to, if not react to, Gacharic Spin performing "ALIVE" live. So different.

Listened to them a few times since discovering Band Maid and my Jrock journey. Trident is always awesome.
The drummer nagisa is a beast

Ryan you should know by now that there is a never ending supply of fucking awesome female Japanese bands!!
It's like waves at the seashore!
For this kind of music, Japan is now the only place to be (for me at least).
TRIDENT’s best song. Pretty cool lyrics about self actualization. Live performance video paired with studio recording. Thanks for showing me how to play the bass line.
SPOOPY is their latest and hardest video.
Glad I watch this this is great I haven't seen this on UA-cam
Ngl TRiDENT is a bit of a hit or miss for me, not everything i've listen from them makes me go "whoa". But when they hit, like with Ambivalent, damn it feels really good!
Yeah, same for me. I struggled a lot the the sound of the kick drum. But in the newest songs it seems to be better
Nice!. They have dropped a new single "Spoopy". For me, their best song to date. Good job Ryan!
awesome song, long overdue reaction.
Wow! That was great… tease on the playing though! And I love that truck/guitar shirt at the end when you played… encore please! 😁
Most underrated band... I LOVE TRiDENT! Band-Maid is my favorite, but most of my playlists are with Band-Maid and TRiDENT, i love their energy :)

Wow, they are great! Same as you Ryan, why didn't I check them out earlier!
Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, And TRiDENT! I think the top 4 groups in Japan.
I'm going to TRiDENT Live in Shunan, Japan on June 18th.
Awesome! You must let us know how it was!

"Just Fight!" is amazing.
Excellent, you finally got to them !
New subscriber because of this video. Thank you 🤘

Great song. Seritas bass is incredible, they all are.

The outside writer for Trident worked on a lot of older Band-Maid songs, so this makes sense. I like pretty much this entire album.
Yeah.. These day my playlist is all female japanese band.. 1-2 songs from Nemophila, Bridear, Trident, Hagane, Humpback and still a lot of Band Maid 😁
Same. I'm a metal fan but my top 1 band was Band Maid

Yessir... no shortage of talent!
Stumbled across these ladies a few weeks ago. These girls can play. Another killer band is Rolling Quartz out of Korea. Another all female band that I believe has a brilliant future.
Trident 🔱
Basa solo is amazing.

A guitar playing singer with a lightning bolt guitar strap.
Check out Snoopy. It's a real banger. Love it!
Dude, you need to get back to Trident! They have so many great tunes

Just when you think you have seen most of what Japan offers in rolls another couple Bad Ass bands with hooks that just drive Hard.
Pop goes the sushi.
Ryan it's never too late, just put some time every day to practice it. dedicate yourself to getting it. I can tell by what you played so far. Just remember that famous line in Water Boy. .......You can do it !.....You can do it, all night long !.....Getter Done !
How on earth Asaka's guitar can sound so big?
🤘🔥🤘
While we should no longer be amazed at what's coming out of Japan, the next Japanese band we hear would just proceed to wow us anyway. Heh. I'm sure not complaining.
Next trident just fight
Try Hades ...bring it on .
Trident is a really good, really underrated band. Personally, I'm glad GRBK didn't work out. If Junna couldn't be bothered to even put the band's name on her Bass drum, she probably never really considered herself a member.
They are better as Trident with Nagisa.
I thought I would miss Junna but Nagisa is great. Yeah, the Junna branding on the bass drum was a bit nuts.
Interesting - I actually knew about and listened to GRBK after I discovered Junna's drum cover videos. I liked them a lot at the time. Didn't notice the connection with the 2 former members in Trident. For some reason makes me an even bigger fan of Trident now🥰
Li-sa x looking up to you she's 17 she's been playing since she was two ,you got to check this out that's the name of her song, looking up to you
Try voltage by them.
structure reminded me of linkin park - faint
Spoopy next
Braceprot, they're good from West Java
I don't like to mention other bands on reactions but you seriously should listen to, if not react to, Gacharic Spin performing "ALIVE" live. So different.
