The headlights are way too busy with all the neon light eyelashes. Same for the rear, too busy for something supposed to be iconic and timeless. Alfa romeo should take noted from the GMA T.33

Haven't seen a car in a long time that made my heart flutter and left my mouth open, leaving me pining for it. Last one was the Bentley ESP10 Speed 6 concept, but it was never made. This is rolling art, something you go out to seek at a car show just to see. My favorite detail is the rear end profile, the tails integrated into the cannons that protrude out from the side, with the led accent, continuing into the intake and finishing in the strake like a wing, it looks like it's packing missiles under it's haunches...amazing details, bellissimo.😘
3:29 I do: seeing as though the 33 Stradale and the MC20 both share a platform, and the MC20 is set to receive a Folgore version, it stands to reason that Alfa Romeo decided to take advantage of that
I was waiting for your vid about it, such a graceful way to modernize classic lines inside and out. I bet only 3 cars are electric, 1 European, 1 American and 1 Asian, and the 3 know nothing about the original haha
I generally like it, but the rear end needs more wide body and proportion control. The rear taillights are a bit oversized and the haunches on the old one have more energy and tension. I do love Alfa styling and those rims should never be swapped.
Im not sure if it's the nostalgia speaking but I still prefer the original by a little bit. I think the longer tail suits the overall design better and it's got a pointier nose. But to be fair I wouldn't even have noticed the nose being shorter if I didn't have a side by side comparison here. The new one is very easily the most beautiful modern car I have seen. It really makes it feel special to see just how much of the original had been carried over into the new one. The way everything opens, the doors, the headlights... Everything. But it really does feel like they've made the butt a bit too stubby. Or it's all just so beautiful that I can't help myself but wish those shapes would continue flowing for a few extra inches. 😂

It is worth noting that the Maserati MC20 is the Alfa Romeo 6C project that was produced by Alfa Romeo from 2017 to 2019 and then for less than a year by Maserati 2019-2020. So it doesn't really "pull mechanical parts from the Maserati parts bin". After the death of Sergio Marchionne who commissioned the project the new leadership decided that this car can sell more with the Maserati badge. There was an article a few years ago about the MC20 and how a lot of its parts were Alfa Romeo designated including the engine. And how Maserati lied about the car being "100% Maserati" in their PR while they worked on the car for less than a year. All of those articles today from automobile journalists about how this is a MC20 copy are a joke when it is the other way around.
True, but I still think that giving the project to Maserati was the right call. An Alfa Romeo 6C would not fit with the current poor line up while the MC20 is a more rational addition to what Maserati represents. I just hope that eventually we will get a new Alfa Romeo Spider or a new 4C for real enthusiasts.

Agreed, the De Tomaso is on another level. The P72 is more hypercar, the 33 Stradale is a supercar if that makes any sense. The P72 has a V12 as a concept and TT V8 for production, whereas the Alfa Romeo is based on the TT V6 of the QV.
My only criticism is that rear diffuser. I wish they had exposed some of the internals like the original car (a modern example would be the Mclaren Senna). Other than that, what a magnificent piece of art. I reaaaaaly hope Alfa brings a prototype or whatever they stick in the museum around the world to car shows/events/etc in the US. I got to the see the original 33 (not the prototipo sadly) and it was just stunning. It would be a shame if it only sees the inside of a garage.

Mad props to the mad genius who dared think (s)he could tackle the Stradale design. Sure, the original was not for everyone, but it was so utterly perfect for it's market that improving it is a huge ask. Only 33 of them, though... Stunning... Pity I probably will never get to see it. Alfa should get it's act together when it comes to cars that mortals can afford, not just these insanely expensive cars
They did do that with the Giulia, the best car in its category in my opinion. Unfortunately that didn't sell nearly as much as it deserved. Before that they tried going even lower with the Giuletetta and the Mito, which also didn't bring them what they needed. So I'm not sure what it'll take for the world to see how amazing Alfa cars are.
Totally agree with you. Appreciate how you take the old and new in same slide for comparison point by point. I only have one problem with this car. And it's all me. Just looked at the articles on TG and MT and in the dashboard shot I got the impression that the instrument gauges are cartoon eyes, the horn button a big cartoon nose, and the bottom metallic steering wheel spoke a cartoonish giant tooth inside a bog grin made up of the bottom of the steering wheel. Now I cannot un-see that cartoonish face. Still, amazingly beautiful car.
have seens this car in real last saturday in monza after the formula 1 qualifying a fantastic car ! ! ! front and rear hood opens same as at ferrari 512 BB
Im actually really surprised at how so many people are liking this.. I mean its not like its a bad design but come on; Look at the headlights?? They look like some sort of cyborg eye with their many pieces and creases and light strips... The side view looks pretty good actually if it wasnt for that ugly vent behind the door. Like why is it a half circle? With a straight line in the middle?? The shape is not dynamic at all and doesnt fit the rest of the design. But now the rear view.. I think if you would just look at this from the rear you would never ever recognize this as a 33 Stradale. Nothing here fits and none of the details resemble the original. So yeah, by no means is it a bad design, it is actually pretty good while not revolutionary. I just think its not a very good retro design. I know that creating a good looking retro design is hard but there have been a lot better examples recently (Countach for example) and I think that many just freak out on this because its an Alfa, because it looks quite alright on itself and because of the name tied to it.
There's only two car brands that I consider artistic: Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin. Others can design beautiful cars, but those two are in a completly different level. No other brand can touch them design wise.
The reason buying an electric one, i supply and demand. If they make 33 and 26 are ice(gas) and 7 are electric, then the electric will appreciate in value more. If its 16 electric and 17 are ice. Then the gas will prolly hold a better value. Itd be possible that less than 5 would be electric and that would make it less than 10 made. Dividing the power options may make this even more collectable. There was a ferrari once that had a recall most people went to get it serviced. The ones that didnt their cars went up in value alot more than the ones that got the recall service done
Thanks for post this very beautiful car. This is a video about a car and people want to see the car. There is no need to have the narrator in the video at all. It's like watching your favorite sporting event and having the commentator in the frame of the video the entire time. No one does this because its unnecessary to put it mildly and you are loosing subscribers.
YES! Finally bringing sensual design back to high performance cars rather than just another overly aggressive looking brute. See, car companies? You can make a car look incredibly sexy and tremendously powerful without making it look like it’s pissed off.
That makes it sound like I’m calling all the other aggressive designs bad, but I’m not. But it’s tiring when that’s *all* you see nowadays out of high performance vehicles. (And it’s also not to my tastes, so if I was in the market for something in that price range and level of performance, there’d be pretty slim pickin’s for me.)
The people I've asked have said that they'd get the electric. Because you don't need a beautiful sound when the design does all the talking. They think it would be cool if this beauty sneaks up on you.
Hmmm... wasn't sure about this thing. Light clusters and certain details seem incoherent and fight with the otherwise harmonious and cohesive proportions and line-work. Looks like a car designer did the overall body form and a man with rabies did the detailing - while he was on cocaine... and probably drunk. And blindfolded. And very angry for being asked to do it. This is MUCH less mature and resolved a car than the 8c - are you out of your mind?!
That’s not a car… that’s art. Incredible job bringing that classic design forward into the modern era!

There's only two car brands that I consider artistic: Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin. Others can design beautiful cars, but those two are in a completly different level. No other brand can touch them design wise.
Gordan Murray and Pagani. Idk why you mentioned Aston Martin
Check out the new De Tomaso, feels like an even better successor to the older Alfa Romeo
Piece of art ❤, Please do the pininfarina pura
I wish the front grill is a little less square
The reason buying an electric one, i supply and demand. If they make 33 and 26 are ice(gas) and 7 are electric, then the electric will appreciate in value more. If its 16 electric and 17 are ice. Then the gas will prolly hold a better value. Itd be possible that less than 5 would be electric and that would make it less than 10 made. Dividing the power options may make this even more collectable. There was a ferrari once that had a recall most people went to get it serviced. The ones that didnt their cars went up in value alot more than the ones that got the recall service done
Ohhhh I was gonna say it looks a lot like an MC20 with that grill
I really want to see the Alfa MC20 now
1:03 the person who would choose electric wants to keep it longer than 10 years and still be able to drive it.
Gorgeously beautiful! If only it had the Ferrari V12, it would easily be one of the greatest car of our generation.
Wow, Alfa has another winner. Much nicer than the MC20. A real standout design.
Lamborghini MUST make a retro modernazed INTERIOR like that.
Amazing but the 60s rear look i think its way better
Hmmm... wasn't sure about this thing.
This looked like the Alfa Romeo version of the mc20
