  • This video shows how to set up your PC to record the IP address of a 'Windows Support Department' (or similar) support scammer.
If more people could record their IP addresses, the more prosecutions we can secure the fewer calls we will get and the fewer victims they will rip off.

IF they had any guilt they would shut down show emotion when confronted more often than not. instead they double down. make excuses ofc get angry so on. mad they lost, were out played. that is a sign of narcisist so on. big ego etc. not the mind of someone who has guilt for doing what they are doing.

I offered one a job in my IT Company (I don't have one! ) and asked him to send me his CV and said I would pay his fare to come for an interview. He was ecstatic and thanked me but when I asked him if he thought I was telling the truth he said he did. I asked him if I should believe what he was telling me and he assured me I should. SO I told him I was a liar and a thief - he went berserk!! He ranted until I got bored with his limited ability to swear long enough in English and hung up on him.

I would feel like shit if I did that, you did give him some good payback though. The fact that he was so excited really shows the truth which is that a lot of the scammers (not the owners or those that run the company) are just normal people trying to make a living. I feel like most of them have grown accustomed to what they do. If I could I would definitely help people out of these situations because as bad as what they are doing is, there is some reasoning behind it.
Edit: I in now way support scams, but I do realize there are some genuine people behind the phone.

Unfortunately, it works well enough to be worth their time. According to some reports I've heard, these people get paid about 2$ an hour (plus bonuses for meeting goals), so if they scam 200$ or more from somebody, it is going to be quite profitable for their bosses to keep the scam going. With the sort of money they are pulling, they can probably afford to bribe the Indian cops as well.

Some scammers use a proxy to prevent people from looking up their IP. I once tried doing this and got multiple IPs from France.

    • @KingDuken

I'm sure it's not impossible to find their actual IP. Any tips on how to persuade them to use Teamviewer instead of those other places you mentioned?

You know what would be funny? making a program that edits the batch file they upload to something saying that your computer is not infected or something along these lines.

This is just hilarious. They get so cocky but then you call them out and "no I wasn't downloading all of your files" and close the window. It's like a kid hiding a broken piece of his dad's tools under a rug.

Actually simpler than I thought, using wireshark to monitor incoming network connections. Nice job though!

I remember using Wireshark in my college Networking class, nifty little tool it is.
We were told that if we used it on our personal computers at home our ISP would probably contact us to ask why we were running it.

Brilliant, love these vids. I got a call too. I told him I sold British passports and does he want one. I soon started making the deals with him. I had something HE wanted. I am sorry I did not record it. But that would be a good call if you can do it. Sell them passports, I would love to see you take a paypal payment from them for a passport.

Hey Jim, this Video is quite old now so i hope you will see this.
First of all your doing a great job. Keep this up!
I've got some questions: 1. I want to waste their time too. I already tried calling them and reported some of their Support Keys to fastsupport and talked shit with them. But i want them to connect to my VM too. Is that evering you need, what you show in the video? Aren't you scared of them knowing your IP?
And 2nd what is the best UK time to call them. Usually it takes alot of time till i find someone who answers a call, even if try like 10-15 numbers.
I hope you will see this. Greetings from Germany :)
