I have a road test tomorrow for UPS 10/12/21 for a feeder driver position. I’m nervous as hell. I’ve been driving now for 3 years all local. Pub trailers up to 53’. Ive worked for Pepsi, a beer distribution company, a milk company, US foods, and now a Frieght company. I haven’t worked at this many companies because I suck but I’m looking for the right place.
Damn I want to go feeder so bad. I’m a full time package car at the moment and have been on for about 2 years. I just have no knowledge whatsoever on a semi truck. I’m going to shoot for this pretty soon though.
He would've failed from the start. You check the steps and handrail before you get into the cab. Fire extinguisher, fuses, ez-pass , a bunch of stuff he's missing.
Learn how to drive a manual transmission. Know how to back a trailer on a 45 degree angle (real world backing), need doubles endorsement on license. Good luck to you.
During the video at 7:22 before you said turn the ignition to the ON position you flicked or turned on something what did you hit?...because the camera view doesn’t show us
so whats the point of doing a full pre trip before checking the DVIR for write ups, you could have done that when you got in the cab to turn your lights on, SO STUPID
No, not at all. As a driver with over 3 decades of accident free experience, a proper pretrip on a tractor will take roughly 9 minutes including paperwork . Not 8, not 10, but 9 minutes. We all do it the same way here. Its why we rarely break down and are considered by many in the industry to be the benchmark. Those that join our ranks from Purple/Green, and Orange tell us with regularity that they were never taught to do such a thorough pretip. We hold ourselves to a very high standard. Keep a healthy following distance and be safe out there!
well arent just the GREATEST,well i got 41 accident free circle of honor yrs,now retired, so you just keep going too work and pay those union dues,and ill sit on my fishing boat and collect my pension

This isn't a job as much as it is a career, however when new to UPS, it can be challenging. If you can survive the first few weeks, you'll be fine.

He honestly did more than I EVER did, excepting my qualifying week. He could have also checked tread depth, either using a gauge or a coin.
