I used to this stuff in the atchafalaya basin but it just isn’t the same anymore… getting way back in the jump in holes nowadays, if you can get in them, there’s no water or bad water and no fish…. Back in early 2000’s or late 90’s, it was fun!! We all had boats built to do this stuff….
You wanna actually catch big off the grid bass? Go down to the lower colorado river. launch on martinez lake and go north or south on the river and fish those backwaters. was stationed there 7 years and the amount of 5-9lbrs is crazy. Or go to havasu and launch at havasu st park. Go north into the river and fish those backwateres off the the main channel. Tons of backwater lakes its amazing. lots of 3-6lb bass. Middle of summer was my favorite time to do it. Its hot as heck but worth it.
Would love to have that set-up. Unbelievable what you go through for the thrill and rush of exploring untapped waters. Would love to know the cost of that rig.
Does Keith ever have any issues with land owners while on expeditions through these beaver ponds? In my young days, we just pushed 10’ jon boats to beaver ponds. I never caught much more than a 1-2 pounder. No hawgs.
