Thanks for taking the time to make a video on the tC. to .Thanks for sharing tricks to make it easier. I would emphasize cleaning the magnets inside pan, wearing gloves, and pointing out the need to torch the bolts correctly.
I just did this on the 2008 that is to be my son's. I used 5 quarts of Valvoline trans fluid, plus 1 quart of Lucas automatic transmission fix additive. I let it run for a while, kept checking it, maintaining in between the lines on the dipstick. There was quite a bit of metal gunk stuck to the magnets in the pan. 😮 I did a cleaning of everything, and ended up using 6 quarts total counting the additive. Couldn't really get a straight answer online as to exactly how much to use total for this process. You obviously used more than 5. I read 6.4 on a reddit thread. Anyone else's thoughts on this?? Thanks for the awesome video. It runs way better than it did before.
Glad the video helped, normally you have to give account to what remaining fluid that’s still trapped in the Torque Converter and in the Valve Body. It can be + or - 6 quarts
@@Radstreetdaily Anything to do with preventative maintenance or repairs. I got an 08 with 122k miles that to have it last for a while. I really like your teaching style!
Did you do the change yourself? If so do you remember how much quarts it took? I got 6 quarts of toyota type ws oem fluid but wanna make sure i dont fall short
Hey guys, after taking my 2012 scion tc on the Rally, the transmission started to slip the next day. I’ve changed the filter and fluid. Then I took it to the gym and not it pop the check engine light and traction light . I’m currently working on the video, step by step to solve the problem.
@@Radstreetdaily I had a p0741 come up and today it’s gone so I’m gonna change oil and hope tht what was it. If you ever had this problem please give me a recommendation :)
@@Radstreetdaily sorry for the late response 200+ and I don’t notice anything with shifting or the transmission heavy shifting or anything I haven’t noticed much of a difference after the light
@@Radstreetdaily Awesome. Was concerned if this would cause any slippage since it was a bit higher mileage but in that case, I will be doing this soon with similar mileage Scion TC. Thanks!
@@CNL1203 The one I have, I bought it years ago from Harbor Freight. I checked their website and its discontinued, this is the closes one I found amzn.to/3ro0Vke

I will look into it
Link for the filter? Or part number?
Very nice video. Can you tell me the type of oil you put in your Scion? My TC is due for a transmission fluid change already, thanks boss!

I was about to ask the same thing, I’ve always had a fear of changing my transmission fluid since everyone always says it cause slipping
How much oil total I only put 5 in mine
Just about 4 quarts give and take +-
Is this on a auto or manual? Does it matter? I have a manual
Automatic
Hello, sorry, what difference did you feel when you did that? Thank you😊
There was no difference, I drove great
what are the specs for this specific filter?
I got it from advance auto - OEM
What about the 2005 do I check with the engine running also?
Yes
That was very helpful 👍👊
how often do you do this
Every 150,000 miles
Toyota recommends every 100k miles for the tc
🙏 thanks
Auto or manual ttanny?
He forgot that little detail
It's an auto
It's auto. The shifter area shows the PRNDL setup when he was shifting through the gears💁
Nice
Thanks
