Good morning to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR Thank you 🙏 for your feedback. Wishing you all the best in health and warmth during this THANKSGIVING WEEKEND. Stay warm and stay safe. Happy birding 🦜🦢🦩🦤🦃
Will keep these spots in ming if I ever make it that side of the world. Thanks for the share. I visited Kruger National Park in South Africa around June, my favorite birding hotspot.
I know you are probably tired of me saying this, but Huntington Beach Central Park! Full list of rarities and my favorites seen there. 1. Red Naped Sapsucker/Red Breasted Sapsucker Hybrid 2. Red Breasted Sapsucker 3. Black and White Warbler 4. Brown Creeper 5. Sora 6. Virginia Rail 7. Wilson's Snipe 8. Summer Tanager 9. American Redstart 10. American Pipit 11. Tropical Kingbird 12. Mallard/Gadwall Hybrid. Anyways, amazing video as always. Can't wait for you to come to California in December!
I had the chance to go to Jug End in Western Mass to the Berkshire Bird Observatory banding station. A joy and delight to see and release so many birds. The chukar was my fave front his video-striped wings!
I get so jealous of some of the western birds, especially the grebes since I love them, whenever they appear on your channel. This year has been slow for me since I haven't been able to travel much. I've only gotten 18 lifers, but so many of them, like my first short eared owl, and Canada and Wilson's warblers, along with the St. Lucia Thrasher and my former nemesis bird St. Lucia Oriole, were simply wonderful. But my favorite place I birded this year must be the Des Cartiers Rain Forest Trail in my native St. Lucia. I dipped on the St. Lucia Oriole the couple of times I visited, but saw the national bird, the St. Lucia parrot, and one of the prettiest birds in the region, the lesser Antillean Euphonia. I'd always heard about the euphonia but never thought I'd see one. They're stunning birds and that really made my day.
Haha, greener pastures are everywhere. I feel the same about many parts of the world I haven't been too and their birds. What an awesome trip! Sounds like a really amazing place to go birding! Thanks for sharing!
Good Morning to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. May I please ask what is the difference between Swinhoe’s White-eye and the Warbling White-eye (both commonly known as the Japanese White-eye) . They both look the same in appearance. Though the population of Swinhoe’s White-eye is an introduced species throughout Southern California. It is found in east China 🇨🇳, Taiwan 🇹🇼, north Vietnam 🇻🇳, the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. The Warbling White-eye’s specific epithet is occasionally written japonica, but this is incorrect due to the gender of the genus. Its native range includes much of East Asia, including the Russian Far East, Japan 🇯🇵, Indonesia 🇮🇩, Korea 🇰🇷, and the Philippines 🇵🇭.
I like it a lot! Although I am trying to upgrade sometime in the nearish future (just to give people the best possible bird experience on UA-cam). The camera is great for mobility (super light) and has an incredible Zoom. The pictures are not very sharp though. The 950 is definitely a bit of an upgrade and probably has better features than mine (P900).

Indeed. I used to referee over at that park. Though I'm glad I don't do that anymore.

Good morning Mark! They differ in size and they have a different song as well.
My most prolific sites for birding in 2024 would have to be Mitchell Lake in San Antonio and Hornsby Bend in Austin.
I'll have to check those out someday!
I need to go to Garr ranch. I never realized it was public. I might be blind. Lol
Yeah it's public! Just walk right in and go straight to the back towards the East to the forested area. Good birds there!
How do you like your Nikon for birding? I've been thinking about getting one (p950)
