Very, very few bluegrass/country groups are good now. But-- none now or ever -- wiil equal much less top the Osbornes!!! Almost unbelieveable the voice of Bobby, the best. RIP Bobby & Sonny.
I can remember these guys from the 60s & 70s... The Osborne Brothers were so popular...they were total ROCK STARS!!! Bobby Osborne's voice is RIDICULOUS & AMAZING all at the same time. My dad loved The Osborne Brothers...my mom still has a few of their albums & she still listens to them...she says when she listens to them they bring back GREAT memories of her & my dad. Dry Branch hosting (In reality - just Ron Thomson) Vassar, John Duffy Seldom Seen, Peter Rowan, Jimmy Walker in his Widow Maker, and the Osborne Bros, anchoring Sat afternoon into early evening when Bobby held that Ruby note for what seemed like 4 mins (my girl went to the potty and came back, he wuz still goin) we all went nuts hooting and hollering and throwin stuff... And when he was thru we all laid on the ground to spent to move - where there at the foot of the stsge was a heap of our blankets coolers and chairs. Somewhere in a box is a cassette tape i made of that set on my boom box, a tape I played for years over and again in my truck to and from work
Wow!! Gene Wooten's amazing dobro talent really shines around 6:10 in this video, with perfect intonation, amazing slant-bars, and string-chokes.... !!! He was the best at this point,, and a perfect fit for the Osborne Brothers!
i have never heard this osbourne brothers song before--but as usual they have outdone themselves. my parents- my nephew-my 2 late husbands--and now in a nursing home my mother in law mary. getting old is a bitch --but I am knocking on that door. where does the time go?
