I was just telling my husband (who doesn't listen to DM) how I love the fact that DM stays fresh. They even change up their past songs just enough during the concerts to make them even more enjoyable.They seem to put out new music that is infused with various elements that make the music fresh in their own way. It will never be "current" like what you'll mostly hear on the radio. And, YAY for that!!🎉🎉 But, I can hear the "one off"-ness that Martin spoke about in this interview. This is one of many reasons why they are at the top of my list and have been since 1988.

Love Martin. Been a fan for 42 years. Seen them loads of times over the years that my favorite tour definitely was the Devotional and Exotic tours. Glad I had the opportunity to meet all four guys. All nice and easy to talk to.

Je retente ma chance puisque ma première réponse n'est pas passée. Pas de chance, j habite à 700 miles de vous, à l'extrême Est, près de l Allemagne et de la Suisse à 12 miles du site renommé des Eurockéennes au pied du Ballon d Alsace en maison eco friendly.
L humour est la politesse du désespoir et il nous en faut pour survivre. Oui je suis nostalgique et passionnée par l histoire de la musique 🎶, l archéologie, la faune, la flore, littérature, mythologies. Yt surtout pour y mettre à jour vidéos, concerts, interviews, documentaires à voir durant mes insomnies ...une chaîne prête à Craquer tant je suis addicte depuis mes 5 ans à votre musique anglo saxonne d abord puis de l Islande à la Suisse. Australie aussi...
Aucune vidéo par moi même trop timide ...Bien à vous et bonne restauration des Heaumes moyennageux. Vive BRAVEHEART vu et revu en anglais avec accent écossais et vieil anglais de circonstances...

What a nice Interview, Martin is so natural, honest and authentic, I love him.
To me there was a special concert, 9/11 they played in Vienna.
I was afraid the band might cancel, because all other cultural institutions in Vienna were almost closed that evening, but they didn't.
Depeche Mode never let their fans down, never, whatever happens.
I'm so grateful spending my life with Martin, Dave ,(the unforgetable Fletch) Andy and Vince and Alan.
Martin knows it, we are cult, the fans and the band together.

Every time I see Martin interviewed or actually anywhere, He comes across as one of nicest human beings.And I feel that I can read people very well.It makes me smile to see someone like him who's given us so much beautiful Art and is so down to earth,prosper in life,hopefully in the happiness aspect the most.In my next life I would love to be in a band with someone just like him,Dave comes across as really cool as well,as I'm sure Fletch was.I really appreciate DM.

I went to see DM in Sweden and it was a lot of polite clapping and people drinking coffee where I was sitting. But it was a massive arena. I’ve seen some pretty live shows in North America.
Well...then you might want to go to Germany - there´s not so much coffee drinkning 🙃🤣😉
I honestly struggle to believe you on that for many many reasons.
I've been to at least one DM London show where a large German flag was held aloft ( I'd prefer a message in Deutsch than flags - it's not sport).
It was Nice to see them here but we've known for ages they've been huge there ( & reason for such popularity if DM there causing Germsn group name KMFDM ?).
@@ToHaveAndToHold The one gig in Germany, I went to, Berlin Olympiastadion 2013, had a surprising and disturbing amount of weed smokers on the floor where I was. Not a couple but they were everywhere.
Also, several guys were loudly screaming and threatened each other with a physical fight if the other didn’t move or some bullshit. Some fans had clearly been drinking and using a bit to much that day and it was also during an insane heat weave which always causes people to be weird. The night of the gig it finally started to rain a bit.
I had never ever seen that level of aggression on a DM concert and I don’t care if people use whatever they do but the appropriate way is to not bother someone else and keep it private, not using nonstop in a packed crowd.
I must have been to the odd German gig lol
That sounds a bit scary! Ya, when you are surrounded by a lot of other people, you want that crowd to be “happy”, but not out of hand!! Sounds like a rare thing for a DM concert I would hope!

The local hospitals would be inundated if his fans stood up for the whole concert . Multiply that worldwide & the health systems wouldn't be able to cope ( some can't already..)!

@@glennoc8585 Yes but he has had 3 long terms relationships with 2 effective marriages but many one nightstands when they began to become famous worldwide like Dave already married to his 1st wife mind you.
So shy as a teenager, Martin looked up for lost time but was straight despite rumours. According to Wikipedia and interviews, during the conception of SOFAD, Dave back from the US introduced to them his second spouse, a pretty tattoed brunette junkie who made them drink too much, Wilder was against Dave so addicted to heroin, delirious and unmanageable and Martin who was often drunk in studio, very kind but always naked yes true...They had fun until Dave was on the brink near death and almost lost his voice. Fletch suffered silently. So high morality.
All in all, they are now devoted fathers and husbands without any addiction, except to 🎶...and get on so well. The latest tour is out of this world !!!
Ironically Fletch who suffered a terrible nervous breakdown after the release of SOFAD died of a massive heart attack. They said his heart literally split into two pièces. So unfair...
