Yes,I am racing this boat this season. the engine started life as a Evinrude 70hp fishing motor and has been extremely modified. The song tittle is "Miki's Lush Beehive" from the MERMEN CD "California Health and Happyness Road Show". Thanks for watchin !
Thanks Jeff, Had another good season this year, lots of fun !....Building a D hydro this winter and hoping Santa will bring me a video camara to put in the boat for next season....fingers crossed...
I work at a Johnson/Evinrude dealership. the banner was part of a promotional deal a few years ago. Ask around at a dealer near you , they may have one ! Sorry to say, mines not for sale. Thanks for lookin !
I think it was a little over a year..(I didn't work on it every day)It could be done much sooner if time was not an issue! The model is a JDS formula E, or what is now known as 850cc modified outboard
I am looking to build a hydroplane like yours but on a smaller scale and I can't find any plans for this model. IF you have a website I can go to please add it on.
This is not true, Jon was interested in the designs and continuing to supply my kits, but this did not happen, he never finished the acquisition, therefore does not have the design information, nor the rights to reproduce them.
The 3 cylinder outboards make a lovely noise.I remember hearing a Crescent 3 cylinder running over here in a hydro at Oulton Broad in the 70' s.
Very Awsome photos of the boat.......!!!!!
Great results too....
Thanks 🤙
When I was a kid I had a class B hydro and that baby of yours must really be a thrill to drive...
Great job, winning is in the details, and of course the driver.
Wow that brings back memories. When I was growing up my next door neighbor built one of those and put a 85 merc with a short drive.
