Great video, I think the ones where you actually cut lumber like this one are more helpful then the ones you end by saying something "like now we're ready to cut," w/o ever making the cut.
Wouldn't it make sense to use the rip gauge without the extension and set the flip stop with the actual piece you're duplicating? Actual piece + width of the blade.
If I'm correctly imagining what you are suggesting, adding a tab to the extension would create an offset that would make the setting too wide with Rip Stops and Flip Stops.

Why do you put also a tab on the front of the carbon fiber so your wood block will be perfectly tkt aligned?
