It's really cheap. But the problem is maintaining a castle, as it takes several employees for cleaning, maintenance, gardening... I believe that only the internal and external painting already reaches 10% of the asking price for this castle.

Il est très très beau, mais un peu trop près du village, ou on peut dire que ce sont les gens du village qui ont eu de la chance de le voir en permanence comme ça. Merci.
Les murs d'enceintes sont très hauts et il n'y a qu'avec le drone qu'on voit le village ou bien depuis les fenêtres les plus hautes. L'allée centrale est bordée de nombreuses dépendances qui font partie du château et l'isolent parfaitement du village justement. Le grand terrain est d'ailleurs orienté vers la rivière, barrière naturelle de l'autre côté ( avec une falaise ) donc franchement ça n'est pas du tout un problème. Par ailleurs au village on peut au moins aller au restaurant du coups. La circulation dans l'artère qui longe le parc est vraiment modérée et on n'entend aucun véhicule depuis le sol ( je suis resté 3 jours sur place je vous l'assure ). C'est un des plus beaux châteaux que j'ai vu ( j'en ai visité des centaines ) et le mieux restauré de tous, une merveille à ce niveau. If I had the option I would probably get a baronial Cassel, and that would be as large as I would go. And still would probably be more of a bed-and-breakfast than a home. Yes, the Chateau is fully surrounded by high walls and there is a large electronic gate. It is in the middle of a village because it used to be the chateau of that village. All the outbuildings you can see next to it are part of that Chateau, so are the surrounding fields. This really is a massive place! This chateau was probably the best restoration I've ever seen, they put such a lot of efforts into making it so perfect (swiss owners previously) that it's almost too much. The place is now sold. I wish I could live in such "odd" location. The Chateau is absolutely not near a main road at all, the road in front of the high walls is the little road crossing the quiet village ( 30km/h maxi area). The main road leading to Paris is around 5kms away. All the surroundings, land and dependencies belong to this Chateau. Including the buildings next to it, the long driveway path, the tennis courts, pool... and below the Chateau there are big rooms for conferences, there is also a spa in the Chateau. A really famous US singer was about to buy it when he sadly died... he did visit it before that and there is a picture of him there.
