@Anthony Marks I agree with your assessment although personally I liked ABBA better for their unique sound and tremendously high quality albums they were able to put out during their short career.
Their first album was not great but all the remaining 7 were
And I’m site Voyage will be up there too.
I do think some of the early output of the Beatles were uneven.
Also please remember that John Lennon famously said back in 1976 that ABBA “ replaced’ the Beatles in greatness and popularity.

@Anthony Marks I preferred when Agnetha and Frida sung apart. "I can't shake loose" "one way love" "there something goin on" etc. I don't care to be outnumbered. the only songs I like of Abba are: 1)Eagle 2) The day before you came 3) the visitors. I dont' like Beatles I prefer single solo singer! :D
@Anthony Marks the song you mentioned was SOS and my favorite Led Zeppelin album ( In Through the Out Door” was recorded at ABBAs state of the art Polar Studios.
Even Johnny Rotten was an ABBA fan.

I’m overjoyed! I watched ABBA with my grandparents win the Eurovision Song Festival on Dutch tv live in 1974. We guessed they would win! I HAVE to go to this concert, even if it means flying from Phoenix to London! This has made my day! I love them all. 🥰
I watched it also -- from Germany. We though Eurovision was mostly a joke, though we knew some acts were serious, even some of the serious acts were laughable. When ABBA came out -- we knew that they were a joke by their costumes. And then, 5 seconds after they started playing we were quiet. And when it was over, no one in my family was speaking -- until I said "They are going to win". It was the first time that I ever thought a winner was so obvious.
I'm confused though. I keep hearing the term "virtual concert tour", like it's going to be a world tour (and Benny even mentioned he asked Bjorn if he actually thought they could "tour this thing"), but then other people talk about it just being a one-off concert in a "purpose-built" venue in London.
@Anthony Marks Not a Zeppelin fan, so I don't know what you mean they did a world tour only in England. But as for ABBA, I was hoping fans all over the world - young and old - who never got to see ABBA in a big, super loud, stadium-shaking concert, surrounded by thousands of cheering fans, let alone seeing the young ABBA members up on huge video screens - would finally be able to do so, in a city near them.
How sad if it turns out that the 'Mamma Mia' stage musical live tour actually gave the people of the earth such a live, local, fun experience, yet a _literally reunited ABBA cannot._ smh

Ah, but Vulcan, their costumes were only a joke if they had had just another plain old song. When they sang, suddenly everything about their act was stylish, stylishly performed, their costumes a clever little allusion, by Frida’s dress, to France and old Europe of the 1790s, and in Agnetha’s dress, to the glam rock craze in England at the time. When the song is good, their costumes must be more kindly looked upon.

I was 10 in 1995 when I fell in love with ABBA, they were not active then. It's so exciting to actually witness them sharing their talent with the world again!!! Thank you for coming back, ABBA!!!

ABBA is the greatest group, ever... The Beatles were, are brilliant but they lacked the wonderful voices of Anni-frid & Agnetha. There's so much emotion, so much life, so much of all that makes us human in Benny & Bjorn's amazing lyrics. As for their music it touches my soul.
ABBA and the Beatles should not be compared, ABBA are the greatest pop group ever, The Beatles the greatest rock group ever. Both are supreme in their different ways.

I read that the top 4 ,when it comes to selling albums worldwide, are The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and then....-ABBA!
And then there is a large gap from those 4, and that goes for everyone else!

Well, the harmonies *are* parts of the compositions and arrangements.

You can't have a glam style group who promoted youthfulness in almost every performance by their musicality and image ..prancing around a stage at pensionable age ...only the rolling stones have mages to pull that one off and that's because males don't have that same matter to overcome like a 70year old woman trying to be 30

@@vivianamor2176 lol i can't agree wirh u there champ...once an artist reaches 75 it is fair to say their musical abilities deteriorate to a certein level...take paul McCartney for example..still a fantastic songwriter but his vocal ability is not there anymore...just like the abba girls here...still good but "less" spectacular...but the SENTIMENT of the occasion is still good..cheers🤗🤗🤗

That chap who interviewed them I have always thought to be part cynical, part Jack the lad and not a really deep person. That changed for me with this as you can tell, just by his expressions how much interviewing them meant to him. The respect for them and their music and how he really wanted this to be a meaningful interview. He obviously at long last had a moment on TV that really meant something to him deeply. And I have seen it with other interviews, huge respect and emotion that is genuine.
ABBA is always a leader in music. They hold the record of having the first album in 1981 (The Visitors) released in laser disc, it paved the way for digital sound and now we have online streaming. Who knows, ABBATARS will be the future of music.
I want to see Agnetha and Frida too. Without both, ABBA is nothing. The fpur toghether.
I understand they use the Abbatars as it is exhausting to go on tour but It would be great to see them in a video being just themselves. Age is just a number, they r young in spirit & would love to see them in real. But… just knowing there would be a new masterpiece im happy

Did this wally just start off by calling the band "Bjorn"? Listen at the 22 second mark.
I think it's the way the video was edited....he was saying all their names and Bjorn was the last name he said.
I like abba from the past, but like very band they always have a few songs on an album that never get any airplay so unknown songs that no one knows unless they
buy the album, and these two new songs sound just like that imo. And a virtual concert where they look when they were young? Well that ain't 'live" to me,
but it could be usefull for bands like guns and roses because then everyone can throw as many beer at axle as they want, because he won't be there for real
so the concert won't be canceled and it will start on time for a change!
I often liked their non hits the best. Some of us never even listen to "airplay" (voluntarily). But I agree on the mediocre quality of the two new songs we've heard so far, and the concert, very cold and artificial indeed.
So, am I right in thinking they won't actually be doing the show in person? Standing tickets £300 and sitting tickets £700+ am I correct?
