I wish I could help you man. Then again I'm sure everyone feels the same way but I have a special set of skills. Lol 🤣😂😂😂
A rubber bumper MGB. Well, not the best MGB ever made. Strangled with emissions, a troublesome carburetor, and Lucas electrics. It's a perfect car for your channel Randy! You'll be working on it forever!
Auto Auction Rebuilds great content Randy I missed these type of videos
That Mitsubishi will fetch you good money after a good clean and cosmetic body work fixed , 5k at most
Show me your before and after results with Keeps and I’ll consider buying it 👩🦲👩🦲👩🦲
Maybe its not the fastest car in the world, but those Mitsubishi engines are bulletproof man. Naturally aspirated, quick throttle response ( with the manual of course ) and i really like the looks of the Lancer. I think its a really sharp looking car. The CVT is ehh, yeah, the stick is much more better.
If it's naturally aspirated of course there would be no turbo lag so a little redundant there lol. What are common issues for these cars?
@@racequad9Sorry. the turbo lag was a mistake, i edited it. Im not an expert or a mechanic, but we had 3 lancers in the family, so thats why i said they're good cars. We didnt have any major problem with them, only minor issues like MAP sensor or some blower motor issues.
@@patwasinginman I was only messing around. But thanks for the info. I want to look at a 2010 2.0 Lancer for a friend of mine for their 2nd home in Mexico. They're nice looking cars and it's manual which I have more confidence over the CVT.
I had a 2011 Lancer I bought new. Kept it until last year when I had the itch for a newer car. Had 121k miles. Never had any issues with it. Might not be big muscle, but great car. I would average 37-40 mpg in mixed driving.
I have 270k km lancer sportback and the car of the men
I would say that engine bay is totally original in the sense that its never been cleaned, ever.
Nice lancer, i had an lancer evolution, and i love it.
Randy clean the battery contacts whit a can of COCA COLA, the soda will clean the terminals
If there's any car I love daily driving, it's a Lancer and I currently have a Lancer GL 2007 with 300k+ miles and she runs perfect with regular maintenance. Great car for great deal . Surely someone refused this car without caring for it. It's worth saving and this is one one the best looking lancer model .
My 2017 limited runs awesome too no major problems so far it has 51k miles
Hi Steve, is it manual or automatic?
@@kwesiassan6402 Auto , though I'd love to convert to racing manual from the Gt's or Evo models but still good in the Auto as well .
@@stevesamuel6603 ok thanks. Would you advise I buy a manual?
@@kwesiassan6402 of course give it a try but I'd say better buy the 1.6L or higher trim model with manual there is a 1.3L model which basically the one I have in Auto but I'm not sure about the manual ones but I'm 100% certain the 1.6 or higher models with manuals are epic and awesome!!! , and best model for a manual option will be a GT . Now one last thing you can do instead is buy an auto and swap it to manual but that depends on your interest and affordability but they anyway are great reliable cars .
Service engine soon is different than a check engine light. It’s really just a light to remind you to change your oil, it’s usually based off of miles. You can manually reset it.
The tpms light is normal for those cars , (download etac and disable the tpms system) I say you got a win for sure, I have a 2010 5 sps and love it ...
I have a 2010 sportback with the 5 speed manual. Of all the cars in my driveway it's the most reliable and has the lowest cost of maintenance.
The sevice engine light it's for an oil change
Those battery connections need to be cleaned before you try charging it, but you know that already...
Man, I cant stress this enough as i just learned, been having starter connection issues so I thought it was my starter kept looking for 2 days and couldn't get car to start so we took cables off and the actual cable was just more corroded than it looked, separated the wires apart and took a brush to them, didnt have any hope this would have worked, but god damn the car started afterwards, so that told me I had to go get corrosion protection, i did and sprayed that shit all over. All good since
service engine soon is your oil check, you have to reset that
This
Yep please see this
For the lancer: try hot 🔥 water+ planger to pull out the dent
Randy I’m glad you’re back to buying and fixing cars that should be fun
Hey Randy maybe you should buy a PDR kit and try to get that door ding out, The kit's are fairly cheap and would save you having to remove the door trim and also provide some great content. Just a suggestion.
I absolutely love that lancer! I have an 03 lancer ES right now
Great content Randy!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Giving you extra points for bringing all the things needed with you. This car is just like every Lancer I have ever seen, rode hard and put away wet. CVT, no way, not touching with a 10 foot pole. Clean it and flip it.
I love how people trash the CVT that has never had a car that had a CVT i had a black Lancer just like that one mine was a 2012 put 200k on it and had bought it brand new no issues at all
Randy, I love this car. I think this will be a very rich in content because you will show ( I know you will) the HUGE difference after you work this car out. I am sure this will be a diamond in the dust!
Put that poor camaro in the garage if its gonna sit at the house there.
Yes.
Makes the place looks like someone is living there. I don't know what's left inside but at least a bed is there.
@6:02 that squeaky door means that thing ain't been serviced or cared for in years, mitsubishi dont make bad cars but a really bad owner will soon make it bad
As a fellow "Lancer Owner" I think you did pretty good. Everything that you mentioned in your video is nothing to be worried about. The 4b11/4b12 engines are strong and easy to maintain/work on. The radio, you can easily swap a touch screen in it for $100 bucks. The bumper, if need be replacing, its a base model so new bumper is $70 on eBay. I would replace the battery terminals and check the battery or replace it. Pop the dent out and sell it for a profit. You did good bro! Love the video, also as a fellow beginner in the flipping scene, im learning a lot from ya. Thanks again!
I had a 2012 Lancer base model like that one that I put 200k on and bought it new had no problems with it or the CVT at all I loved that car
That is a beautiful MGB in the the background. I presently have a 1979 MGB they are a fun little car to drive on back country roads.
Clean the battery connection and fully charge battery ! I’m betting the battery is dead and causing issues 👍
I have had a couple of these over the years. They are awesome to drive and they handle like a gocart
Keep your head up Randy!! A little cleaning and that car is going to look better!!! Do it for the channel!!!!
Regarding all the error codes on the car ,, put a new battery in ,delete the codes and this will fix the issue
Randy being responsible with this one puts it on the trailer to bring home
Randy, pour boiling water on your battery terminals to clean them up, some codes can be caused through poor voltage. Don't think you'll make a fortune on this one but as you say its got good bones
You won a dueschenburger, like the one Arthur got Doug and Cary for Christmas on King of Queens.
If the Mitsubishi run and drive well it’s a good car for someone that doesn’t care much about look.
Lots of people are spoiled and this car in that specific shape some people wouldn’t like it. Probably why it ended there in the first place. I have nothing against lancer i think their great cars. Not forgetting the EVO
There's a reason Mitsubishi regularly finishes top of reliability surveys in Europe, they go forever if you maintain them. Push out the door, fill the bumper with chod and get Maaco to blow that and the rear spoiler over. Clean it up yourself, pick up a used battery at pick a part and move it on.
we'll always support you randy. Your the best of all time. ❤️😘
Keep the excellent copart walk around. And get us new cars form copart. To be honest you copart walk around is very helpful for us to observing the cars closely 🌹❤️
This is why I started watching the channel. Glad to see another car to work on.
$600 in fees!
Thats outrageous. Makes it almost impossible to turn a profit.
Outright greed.
2 things Randy...
Why didn’t you just stop by the gas station when you left IAA and clean up the battery cables before you left home to get the battery back up ?
I know we are all being respectful of your business and all I want to say is I'm really glad things are working out and loving the new garage! A far cry from the shack for the Dart project!
13:40 “She’s a bad boy” Only in 2020 are cars now having gender identity problems. 😂
Hahaha XD
My Fiancée has a Lancer 2011 and it is a great car. If maintained, it runs forever.
Dang pulling in numbers on the livestream.. way to go!
He always says don’t buy a car sight unseen but does it
Wow you were right! Could probably fit six cars in that shop. Need a lift! Lol
You need to clean the battery terminals,,, too much resistance through the clamps
fix it up a bit, and send it on its way, not a bad buy
You can use baking Sosa mixed with water on the battery connections. Will clear it up real good
That Mitsubishi Lancer was the first car I had bought on my own it was a 2012 just like that and I put almost 200k miles on it before I sold it for a new car no issues love Mitsubishi
lol you mean Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance
@@toyoscio no back then it was just mitsubishi not the other ones man lol that wasn't till a few years ago they got with them
The Mitsi may be a good flip car but you expected it to start without a boost with those awful corroded bat terminals? a good idea would to be to carry a cheap battery terminal cleaner with you, they are small and with modern cars having so many electrical appliences a good thing to do.
I would have cleaned the posts first. It might have been a little bit higher in price BUT it IS a contender :)
Did you clean the battery terminals?? Battery won't charge unless ckean....
Hello baking soda and HOT water cleans battery terminals like MAGIC. Clean the car yourself turtle wax cleaner works well.... Thanks Man
Get an Autel MaxiTPMS unit. Saw WatchJRGo use one so I ordered the TS501, no longer do I have to take my cars into a tire shop to program my TPMS when I swap wheels!
Your just teasing me man. The entire video I was expecting this classic dam. Can’t wait on the updates of the lancer
Relatable content. Many of our cars here in the Caribbbean are JDM. The Lancer is one such. It's nice to see something close to home. Mitsubishi monitoring systems are probably among the craziest. The ABS light can be triggered by the simplest of things such as a blown fuse or relay or the most complicated such as sensors. In some of the systems something quite unrelated can trigger it too. Patience will be your friend.
There would have been some profit if Copart fees wasn't so damn ridiculous ... Great videos btw
So I'm not the only one thinking that
OI! What's that MG in the background!
It will probably be in a separate video. But yes it is definitely a mg.
I have the same lancer but in orange, beautiful, beautiful car!
Well of course it's fair weak it has a cvt if you want power get a manual. Once you fix the ABS it'll turn off the tpms light
That's a nice car there. A little TLC and you should see a little scratch at the end.
You know what I appreciate 🤔 your ads are tastefully placed and not overboard. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Randy, I think that Mitsubishi is a great car for a quick flip, but I agree with you that you paid a little more than you should, but any profit is profit even though it is not going to be a lot.
Here in West Virginia that car would sell for 12k if it runs and drives with title if it doesn’t run or drive 5k firm no title 1k I was lucky to get my 01 Silverado run and drive clean title with 4x4 and the 5.3 v8 and a extremely rare rear end for 1,100
Hi From South Africa
Why dint you put camaro in Garage at city house dont need to clean it as much
FYI On the Battery with Corrosion on it Coke or Boiling water cleans the Terminals
On the Lancer Video Coming up show us how to prep a car for sale with only tools and cleaners you cant purchase from parts stores and maybe Wallmart
So men and woman can get an idea that they can also be capable of cleaning and flipping cars
Keep up the good Videos
Keep it up mate, this is what I love watching. Love the effort in returning cars back to there former glory.
No profit no problem you could always have fun with it like your convertible van! That's a good video!
Love the Wire wheels on the MG !!!! Nice ! 206 SEATTLE
I have a 2009 gts and the side skirts and front fangs makes the car look great
Turning that around and bringing it back would make excellent content.
Edit to add: Who else saw the MGB convertible on the trailer...
The service engine soon light has nothing to do with the P1773 code. It's basically a "change oil soon" light. There should be a way to reset it. There also might be a way to disable the TPMS sensors too. And if you want to go the extra mile, you might be able to get rid of the P1773 code by simply flushing and/or bleeding the brake lines. Who knows when that thing last had a brake fluid service done to it.
I have no idea why everyone hates on mitsubishi in north america. My 2012 Lancer has over 260k miles and running strong. everything original just breaks, oil and fluid changes
If you pulled that spoiler and prepped it, you could rattle can it back to decent, buff the rattle can paint and it'll be fine for not much $.
Man. Thats the bread and butter for content. That Mitsubishi. I think you should do your best PDR and buff that out like you said. I dont think youre going to make any re-sell money off of it but I think the content will generate enough. Its a common car. Affordable car and its got issues people like to fix on their own So youll have plenty of pdr search hits. etc etc. I think its worth the time (no more money) to invest a couple episodes into tearing down the door, PDR, fixing the ABS issue (I think itll be an easy fix tbh) but... You got a good little car there. Cant wait to see that new car in the back. Im not the best at identifying them but... Spitfire maybe? idk. I like the vintage kick you are on but the next break down for revenue you share will kinda let us know where the interest is at. Take care! Ohhh. and just paint the wing. Weird Beard can prolly do it in a day. Just take it off. sand it. Take it down to him and have him hook you up with a cheap spray.
I’m hoping you get a profit. It’s decent car and like you said it should make somebody a good car.
Randy get a port a power attach it to the outer edges .This will pull the door from the front and back and pop the dint out.
You dodged a bullet on this one (sight unseen) but please don't do that again.. I was sincerely nervous for you before the drive to headquarters. Love ya bud 👊
Randy try glue pulling the door. One of those glue pulling kits. Nice content. I guess you bought a Triumph from IAA ?
Nope, it is an MG. I believe MGB the big brother to the MG Midget......
been there done that,
won't work
needs a tonya harding and brick chisel
I own lancer for ten years goes like a champ, looks like new needs oil change and candle lights, of course manual
This is what I would do fix the lights, give it a clean, and put $3,500 for it all day long
I have seen them in my area going for 3,500 with 180,000 miles no problem. I guess I does depend on the area.
I think it's a good deal Randy cleaning fix the dent I wish you all the best 👍
Randy, I was a little surprised, you first checked the windows when the battery was still flat, then commented they did not work!
Just a little information on the battery terminals....... For corrosion that bad, try Coke A Cola. It's a bit old school, but the acid in Coke cleans the terminals fairly good
ABS light, check the abs pump and plug voltage.
why is there a dent in the door of a new shop 22:27
Nice lancer, good buy for not having checked it out first👍❤️💜
Very nice Lancer Randy i like this car but without cvt bc yeah cvt kinda sucks
Randy, don’t just push the dent out. You can try a blow dryer, hot water, dry ice, or hair spray on it. It will be good content.
I’m sure it will end up looking and driving better then It does now. Looking forward to seeing you work your magic.
I have 170,000 miles on my GTS lancer. Still runs great.
Randy you just kill me on the part when u take the rail road he said it took it like a champ LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Like the Lancer and the mg!!
Nice little car Randy .Great A to B car or first car for a Teenager..I’m sure you’ll get her in shape .Happy Friday .
Great video randy nice Mitsubishi
you can reset service light from the cluster buttons
Also that car looks like it had the side skirts that the GT uses, minus the front fog lights, verify to see if that is a special edition car.
There was a Mitsubishi commercial before your video. We used to have a Mitsubishi dealership in our area but it closed up a couple years ago.
My 2014 Lancer GT was throwing all the codes when on a road trip. Turns out the alternator went out and had to be replaced. Battery couldn't hold a charge. Didn't have any issues after getting the alternator replaced.
You could possibly get a prepainted bumper cover for $250 on Ebay.
Whit a air Compressor I would try to peel the rest of the spoiler clearcoat by blowing it... and then maybe give a clearcoat with a spraycan without painting...
Caught the end will watch on the replay
randy good lucky with that mitsubishi here in Jamaica those cars carry no resale value the do run if it was properly maintained but because they are known to have transmission issues people generally dont run to them
The way you kept that a MG as a secret 😂😂😂😂
As you said it's been a while since you brought up a car to the channel
if you use a heat gun on the door as you push out on it it will keep the paint from cracking and peeling
Randy should get a tire machine and balancer for his shop
