    Just got mine in the other day. It’s impressive to be sure. When you look the jacket over you understand the difference between a $150 jacket and a $600 jacket. It’s about 8 pounds difference

    Since this jacket is part leather and part textile, would the jacket still have a “break in” period like a normal leather jacket? Should it fit more more on the snug side at first?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  Рік тому

      Yeah, but you should expect a lot less break-in than you would with a jacket with more leather. Still some relaxing of the material though.

    Hope you guys review the Matador jacket from Revit soon! Thanks for your great work.

      I wear the perforated Matador jacket with the hybrid 3 pants. The airflow of the combination allows me to ride in 100 degree Las Vegas heat.

    Would the pants fit over tall adv boots?

    Follow-up question. I have a 32-inch waist on my Levi's. On the Rev'It! Airwave 2 pants, I'm an "M". On the Rev'It! Jackson 2 SK, I'm a 32W/34L and it fits just right as a slim fit. I have a Rev'It! Alpha RF 32W/34L and it fits me okay, but on the loose side. If I were to get the Ignition 4 pants, again likely wearing it without the liner full time, what size would you recommend for me?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  9 місяців тому

      You'd likely still be a MD without the liners, Small would be just a bit too tight at your waist to be comfortable in the riding position.

      @@RevZilla What would that be on the Rev'It! Size chart? 50?

    I own a Rev'It! Stewart Air (bought from you guys!), which also comes with a thermal liner. Based on Rev'It! size charts, I'd be a size 50. But since I wear it without the liner full time (and many people recommended sizing down on the Stewart Air anyway), a 48 on the Stewart Air fits me perfectly. If I were to get the Rev'It! Ignition 4 set, also intending to wear it without the waterproof liner or the thermal liner full time, what size would you recommend for me? For reference, I am 5'11", 39-inch chest, 32-inch waist. Thanks!

      @RevZilla  10 місяців тому +1

      You'd want to go with the 48 as well especially if you are ditching the liners for most of your riding. That's what a few of us here do as well and we found the size down w/o the liners to fit more comfortably in most riding positions. -Pat

      @Overkill1978 Did you end up getting the 48? I'm exactly 6ft but skinny 150lbs on a good day. Being tall and skinny makes finding good fitting items tough. I've tried in some other brands I'm 50 and they all seemed to fit pretty well. Since planning to not use the liners it also has me thinking the same as you. I would use the liner maybe some but being in the south it wouldn't be much at all.

    • @Overkill1978
      @Overkill1978 3 місяці тому +1

      @@pines2000 Yes! I got myself a size 48 Ignition 4 jacket and size 50 Ignition 4 pants. For reference, I'm 5'11, around 180 lbs. The pants fit as expected for a 50. The 48 jacket definitely fits me well when the liners are taken out -- not too loose, not too tight. Tried wearing it with the liners and while I can technically squeeze into them, it's not at all comfortable. But without the liners, it fits well. And this is considering I also have the back protector and chest protector installed.
      Just two things to take note of though:
      1. Not sure if it's because of the sizing down or just by design (specifically the pre-shaped shoulder armor), but if your riding position has you holding your arms high (such as on cruiser bikes), the shoulders on the jacket tend to stick up a little, looking like the shoulders on an 80's-era blazer. This does not happen when in a tucked position, such as on sport bikes.
      2. As mentioned, I wear my size 48 jacket with size 50 pants. Apparently, Rev'It! uses different lengths for the 270-degree zipper that connects jacket to pants. The size-48 jacket's zipper is therefore shorter than the size-50 pants zipper. So when you connect them and zip around, the zipper only goes as far as the shorter jacket half of the zipper, leaving some slack on the longer pants half of the zipper. Thankfully, despite the ends of the zipper not meeting and therefore not locking, I've never had an issue with the zipper coming undone. I tend to ride in 2-hour spurts before taking a break, and when removing my jacket at such breaks, I've noticed the zipper generally stayed in the same place.
      Hope that helps, and ride safe!

    Been looking forward to this review. Curious would those loops on the front of the neck and waist be there to hold your specs? Could I pair my Ignition 3 pants to the 4 Jacket btw? Regards from Perth AU :)

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  Рік тому +2

      They are just loops for pulling the zipper but you could technically put your sunglasses in there, might not hold for too long though. And yeah, 3 / 4 Ignitions will zip together.

    So, given this leather is waterproof, do you know whether it absorbs moisture in the rain and does it dry out fairly quickly - like over night in a motel room? Thanks.

    • @emromw
      @emromw Рік тому +5

      Probably not - the leather itself isn’t waterproof or even laminated, it’s the inner removable liner that is. So the outer will get wet and soaked.
      The Merlin Gable is claimed to be made of waterproof leather, have a look at that if that’s what you are looking for.

      Revit also makes the valve H20 which has laminated waterproof leather. But is in the pricy side.

    • @wallacemjr
      @wallacemjr Рік тому

      There are some models of them that waterproof can be put on top of the jacket, I don't know if this is the case.

      I have the ignition 1, and I ride without the liners and throw on a lightweight Hi-Vis RevIt poncho over it when it rains. My buddy has the same jacket and wears his with the liner in the rain. His seems to dry out OK overnight, but it is a bit damp in the AM. It would probably be fine if you toweled it off thoroughly and hung it by the ac/heater.

    A tall jacket with 2 inch longer arms would be great. Why oh why do so few manufacturers cater for taller riders that aren't super XL body types?
