@@rudestfusher585 still omnivore doesn't equal to optimal or balanced. There are many downgrades from eating meat, one is the diseases caused by the saturated fats and cholesterol (cardio disease, diabetes and many more), and also osteoporosis, because meat makes blood's ph acid and it is only offset with phosphate that the organism extracts from the bones, making them chipped and weak.

mmmm a second opinion
1. Cancer article cited from 2015 - lots of new data showing no risk for Red Meat
2. Methane-causing bacteria grow on Grass, and release the same total amount of Methane, which happens to be WHY grass-fed beef releases more methane ... you need to kill all the grass to reduce Methane emissions - in which case, Beef isn't the problem (Corn fed beef release 3x less Methane), its grass.
3. Deforestation has nothing to do with proper farming practices - dipping a bit deep into the 'trough' for that one - this monologue is about Health, not global warming.

It seems like he doesn't understand that the obesity epidemic was not a result of the food pyramid because most people who are obese don't follow the food pyramid in their dietary choices. Most people, in my experience, obese or not didn't even follow the food pyramid. Most people just eat what tastes good and don't follow any sort of strategy when it comes to deciding what they want to eat other than what they are craving. Also interesting is how an academic like him still fails hard at backing up his claims with actual evidence. We're just supposed to trust him and not question it. At least the government that he decries has the decency to cite research as to why things like the food pyramid are the way they are.
Exactly. Flip that pyramid upside down and then that's about what everyone eats. Except, put the fruits and veggies at the very tip. So almost the literal opposite of what we're told to eat.
True, about the only time I hear overweight people talk about the food pyramid is when they’re justifying eating pizza because it has “all of the categories on the pyramid”.😅

Dr. Barnard has a video on obesity, and people started getting larger when fast food joints started popping up. Cheese also has a big effect. My fibromyalgia (that I suffered from for 10 years) disappeared within a week when I went vegan. I had been vegetarian for 28 years and cheese was a big part of what I ate every day. Think my doctor told me that dairy causes inflammation? Nope, she just gave me rx's.
Fibromyalgia disappearing in just one week? That’s quick. Did you introduce cheese again in your diet to see if it resurfaced? I think I might be getting some acne from eggs but it’s not easy to be sure they are the cause, so I remove and reintroduce them to see if the results are being replicated. Otherwise I might be skipping eggs when the cause is something entirely different
@@Alexander-qy7yz No, I went vegan for the animals, so I will not eat cow cheese ever again! A friend and I made some epic nachos with jack fruit yesterday. We made the cheese sauce with potatoes, carrots, nutritional yeast, olive oil, soy milk, tomato paste, lemon juice, garlic and onion powder,, corn starch and salt, and it was amazing! I just discovered jack fruit, and I'm now obsessed.
"people started getting larger when fast food joints started popping up" - This observation is what is known as time correlation. You have probably heard that correlation is not causation. That aphorism may be trite at this point, but it is true so keep it in mind.
"My fibromyalgia (that I suffered from for 10 years) disappeared within a week when I went vegan." - This is also time correlation, as well as being a personal anecdote that is vulnerable to all sorts of subjective bias. Obviously do whatever you feel works for you, but bear in mind that your experience doesn't by itself establish efficacy for anyone else.
Hi Rhonda, exactly. I always found it odd when 'experts' would state that they didn't know what caused fibromyalgia; yet, they knew that inflammation was involved. Well, duh. Reduce the inflammation. The major causes of inflammation are diet, disease, and environmental. Diet can greatly mitigate disease and environmental impacts, and thus, reduce inflammation. It's a no-brainer you'd think; but alas, so many medical professionals are just either clueless about the 'immediate' impacts of diet or they have simply given up and don't believe that people can change.
Of course they won't tell you the root cause. A healthy patient is bad for business. Glad you found the right side of life. Stay safe, enjoy your health! :)

Peterson is the perfect example for why we should always be suspicious of those who speak over confidently and with showmanship. Peterson is an entertainer, in his lectures, in his writing, in his videos and in his public appearances.
Unfortunately you’re preaching to the choir here. JP fans don’t care about logic, they care about justifying their misdirected anger.
Thanks as always for your work. Can't say it often enough ;)
What an embarrassment this guy is
I actually like JP but yea I wouldnt take nutritional advise from him
Same
You like a bigoted ignoramus who is a social media star because he is good at triggering liberals. He's a clown. A character that helps conservative Christians feel justified in their intolerance.
I used to like him, but he is becoming more and more delusional. He thinks he's an expert on everything and chooses misleading arguments to reach pre-existing conclusions. Plus, he behaves like he's the second coming of Jesus. No one is infallible, being more humble would do him good.
I think his diet preaching really harms his other input which I think is quite good ie speech, mens' issues, etc
@@reaperkollyns6495 I, for myself, would say that it WAS good input.
12:46 he wants to frame it as an authority issue. using that term "sovereign" is a trigger word for his audience. They like to see themselves as highly thinking, unique individuals.
I don't know why but I get suggested vids from his daughter, the last one was '5yrs on lion meat only diet' and all I can think of is, countdown to cancer! How can anyone be so proud of not having any veggies at all in their diet?! I can imagine the BO coming out of people on meat only diet. We are not lion FFS!!
perhaps the algorithm picked up on the fact that you're googling 'how to satisfy hunger' too often. perhaps, just perhaps, you'll be thankful for the suggestions one day
Well I’m sure she can afford prescription strength deodorant and perfume based on her successful grift of desperate thirsty incels.
Didn't his wife already get cancer? I think Vegan Gains had a video about her.
we need shirts that say “plants and bugs for you, peasants” 😂
I struggle to trust people who try to garner trust by stringing together a lot of "big words" in one sentence to appear sophisticated and learned. I think he threw trust and cohesion out the window when he decided that "big words" was the way to go to present his beliefs 😵💫😵💫
The first time JP says, "diabetes," I though how funny it would've been if you popped in a quick image of the guy from the Liberty Mutual commercial. Then the next time he says it, boom, diabeetus cat! Lmao.
Wilford Brimley.
How can anyone take Peterson seriously when he can’t even pronounce “diabetes” correctly? 😂
Great job Mic. Loved your responses to his oration.
I love how he acts like anyone ever actually paid attention to the food pyramid.
Of course they did, it was enforced by the Gestapo (sarcasm).
He's reaching for thin air. Sometimes GOVERNMENT BAD, sometimes GOVERNMENT GOOD and he knows when.
And the Oscar goes to? Jordan Peterson has taken being an insufferable drama queen to the next level. I hope he sees your video debunking all of his self-righteous high drama.
I used to love JP back when he was just a humble professor, teaching psychology & philosophy at University of Toronto. His lectures were insightful, and I'd learn a lot from his thought... He would carefully listen to questions, try to consider another's PoV, and respond to it.
I can't stand him now. He's so politicized, radicalized, dramatic, he has an aura of unhappiness and superiority about him. He feigns credibility about topics that he knows nothing about, like environmental issues, health, veganism, and always puts some sort of Biblical spin / bias to it... I always feel like I'm being yelled at when I listen to him now. God complex, and no intellectual humility. His character aside, it takes 5 minutes to punch beef / chicken into Cronometer, and see how many deficiencies he's racking up as a carnivore.
Yeah, he's completely lost it and ready to check into an asylum at this point 💀
why does he just say untrue things? the ability of people to convince themselves of these things is mindblowing.
@Jodie Masterson that recommendations for whole grains were actually followed by americans and it made them fat and sick
Obviously that even though the government is "telling us what to eat" people are ignoring it. I don't understand his rant.
It’s hard to take someone who preaches total personal responsibility and harboured a secret benzo addiction to be treated seriously on health matters!
Doctors prescribe benzos to anxious people that trust them, and it is notoriously hard to break a dependency on them which can happen in as little as a month.
@@elephantintheroom5678 Meat was supposed to be the cure all for him. That was the whole point of him promoting meat consumption, the fact that it was helping his mental health. Well, it appears that meat wasn't that good a medicine, but now he just wants to eat it to spite people. lol
@@elephantintheroom5678 yes but this information is known. Also a doctor will only prescribe them for a very short period because of this. The problem here is this is a man who has built a career out of condescending to people about them taking the maximum personal responsibility, that everything is under their control. If he hadn’t of been that person. I wouldn’t have any criticism of him and possibly sympathy. But he’s basically a hypocrite.
@@mihaelam8339 my understanding was his addiction was so deep he had to go to Russia to receive a treatment involving him being put in an induced coma until he became physically unhooked from it. He of course kept this top secret whilst he was addicted and telling people to pull up their bootstraps and clean their room on arena stages all around the world. And that meat is a miracle drug. But hey.
@@danh5637 He's definitely a hypocrite. However, your claim that doctors only prescribe benzodiazepines for short periods isn't true in practice. I know someone who has been prescribed them for years, and can't get off them, because they destroy your own bodies ability to make its own feel good chemicals. Doctors prescribe this, off label, for insomnia all the time.
I have to say that him and Joe Rogan definitely have a bleak outlook on life and its probably due to not having enough carbs and eating way too much meat.
I'd honestly like to see studies comparing fibre intake to how miserable and scornful people are.
I have to imagine that shitting so healthily that you barely need to wipe must improve your outlook on things at least somewhat..
J P doesn't have a bleak out look on life, I would say he's pretty optimistic
@@yourlocallesbian6448 that's why he's always crying that people are turning away from god?
JP hates his diet but he’s said it’s the only ones that “works for him”
@@jelatinosa why do you feel the need to insult someone's religion? Your the one with a bleak world view, judging people for personal believe they can't control
Peterson always undermines himself with his hostile, angry, affect with almost anything he talks about. He's hard to listen to. Does a meat diet make you more angry, Jordan? And of course, it must be added, he's spouting nonsense. Doesn't know what he's talking about.
Actually an all meat diet would make you more angry, because of the ammonia it would add to your blood.
@@SkyRiver1 Seems to work that way for Jordan :)
He sounds like a rebel kid, right wing style. So annoying to listen to his ''convictions''.
Yikes! Jordan has zero education in nutrition and is just going off the rails here. He should stay in his lane. Pretty funny.
In oriental diagnosis, creases at the point between between the eyebrows relates to a congested liver. This arises from excessive fat consumption, alcohol, over eating, and other extremes.
Or maybe benzodiazepine poisoning.
I am the only vegan of my ciblings, and the oldest. They get to eat plentt of meat and they do have diabetes and 2 went through cancer and 1 sadly died. According to his logic, I should be the overweight one and dead by now.
Yep. Out of my siblings, I'm the only one who lost weight. The rest have gotten fatter and one even had what he calls "a heart episode" where his heart stopped for 2 minutes. But he swears he's in perfect health. >_
Mr. Libertarian who thinks all corporations should be able to do whatever the fuck they want is complaining about corporations doing whatever they want via lobbying 🤔
6:34 look at the body language, he knows what he is saying is a blatant lie so he over compensates by lifting himself from the chair
I thought the same 😁
I changed to a Low Carb High Fat diet in July 2022. Within 3 months my HbA1c dropped from 9.0 to 6.2, 19 months later it's at 5.2 and I've lost 45kg. I have had no bread, pasta, rice, porridge, potatoes, virtually no fruit and vegetables, but have eaten lots of bacon, eggs, butter and fatty red meat.
Jordan Peterson, the Poncey Prince of Pontification...Mikhaila Peterson, daddys little Elana Ceaușescu..Where on the Food Pyramid does it say to eat McDonalds, KFC, Dominos, chips. donuts, cookies,Coke, Pepsi, White bread, fried bacon and eggs, salami, thickshakes, cardboard boxes of processed food, hotdogs...etc? ...that most people eat.....
I do know my doctor almost died when my last blood results were available. WFPB for life!
You did exactly what you accused Jordan Peterson of in citing the government but then saying ‘oh well the government are in bed with the meat industry’ when something didn’t suit your agenda.
The difference is, the government cites studies which can be analyzed and judged. Petersen just basically says "trust me bro"
@carolsimpson4422 You missed my point. When Peterson cites the government he dismisses it but when he does it’s hard facts. All governments are chronic liars, particularly the Trudeau communist party.
Thanks Mic!
This guy, Jordan Peterson, is just a sour faced, Canadian apologist and promoter of all things right wing. Therefore, he, of course, is a climate, denier, a promoter of big, corporate business, everything that the classic super conservative embraces. There is almost too much to reply to his videos, as I’ve learned in the past, attempting to do that myself. So thank you for this, so I didn’t have to do it! Lol.
Heavy meat consumption is not only associated with CVD but also with alcohol consumption and smoking. Associated with does not mean causated by. Veganism is a religion. Vegans can not live without supplements because we are not herbivorous, we are omnivorous.
Didn't him and his wife nearly die of complications resulting from his carnivorous diet?
Not yet, but they probably will.
His wife doesn't subscribe to his diet, as far as I know. He and his daughter Mikhaila follow a carnivore diet, and they are all very much alive.
I'm a veeery right-wing vegan, and I used to like Peterson a lot... until he started shitting on veganism, right after he talked about how it is every person's moral duty to do as little harm as possible in their lives.
I'm not a vegan but any enemy of Jordy is a friend of mine. You make many good points, by the way.
Sir Walter Kempner has an objection
Is it just me or does Jordan Peterson look unhealthy and underweight? I mean I thought vegans were underweight and unhealthy, right?
Great Veaction! Really sad, that he is so influential with this.
