You sir, are a champion! Hold your head high in the knowledge that you have rescued my printer from an untimely demise into landfill and saved me a few 'bob'. From the planet and I, thank you!
I have been trying to fix this for weeks. None of the other on-line fixes worked, and Canon was no help. This is the only thing that has worked. Thank you.
You've given my printer a new lease of life. Cleaning the ink pads didn't solve the problem - but downloading the utility and resetting the counters - as you describe in your video - WORKED. Thank you :)
Thanks mate. You saved us the cost of a new printer today. I cleaned the pads a while ago when the warning message showed (but didn't know how to reset the warning), then today it refused to print at all. With your help the counter is reset to 0 and working again.
5th Feb 2021 and Sir you are still helping ppl fix this cannon issue!!!! At a time when homeschooling here in the UK is seriously important and our only printer fails us, your video rescues the day!!! THANKYOU so much !!!!!!!
This worked perfectly for my Canon MX452 which was purchased in 2014. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! The key to success was resetting the print count back to 0. How you ever found that link is beyond me but I'm incredibly grateful that you did!!
I know what you mean ...and all those things weve changed that aren't even written in English ..how the hell did he ever work all that out..makes me feel totally inept I gotta tell you.
Thank you very much! I had almost given up on my Pixma MG4150. I followed your instructions. And all of a sudden, it seemed to have forgotten about the very existence of an ink absorber :) For a few days now, I have seen no more annoying errors.
I was scared to dowload this and run it, but I did it on my work computer, lol. It actually worked the first time. Cannon support was no help and I tried several online procedures before this. This absolutely worked, thank you so much for the video!!!
I have used this video many times. It works. A clear explanation, I enjoyed the profanity and thank you VERY much for taking the time to post this. Mike.
OMG You're amazing. Your comments were exactly how I felt. Up and running. This worked on MG4160. Shame on the makers trying to get us to purchase new printers! Ps. This was after I actually cleaned the ink absorbers.
I have no idea how you managed to find this fix and work out what to do... That's pretty clever of you! It worked on my Cannon Pixma MG3250. Thank you very much! :)
I researched many other solutions for some other issues of Canon printers and tryed a lot of combinations - took me around 4 hours. When I thought about it that there is not a single working guide on the internet for this problem, it came to me that I had to diminish this hassle for other people.
Pure genius ! This solution still works and is still needed out there ! Needed to use the cable (and not wifi as per vid) plus eventually found a not so dodgy site that had the software. Thanks from Baz in Ireland, MG4150
Thank you SO much. This along with actually removing and cleaning ink absorbers solved my problem! Fantastic! I think it is truly terrible that this happens. Lots of people would simply buy a new printer and the one I have is absolutely fine. When will companies start to act seriously about our environment and stop thinking about people buying more of what they don't need!
Thanks heaps. While it took me a couple of times, my printer is now working. While it sounds clunky while printing, I am sure it will rectify it's self. I am very grateful and so is the environment that the printer didn't go into more landfill. Keep up the good work. My printer is a Canon MG4260. Cheers
Brilliant. my old MG4250 had been playing up and error code for ink absorbers. Cleaned them but still had error code, had to press OK every time I started printer. Then after a month or so got error code 5B02 and couldn't use printer........UNTIL I FOUND THIS VIDEO!!! Now cured, thank you so much 👍👍👍👍👍
This procedure really works. They don't need to call the Canon support line, because it won't help, they will say that the printer is discontinued and there is no repair, they are so environmentally friendly, and are so concerned about reducing their environmental footprint, that they even advise us to go buy another one!
Thank you thank you thank you ! worked with my MG4150 you saved me hours of searching and most of all you saved the environment from another dumped working device
Brilliant! Worked on a MG4160. Also after entering the service function, if your printers carriage is "locked" when you hear the carriage move, pull out the power, then you can clean the 2 x little pads under the ink cartridges. Put them back, clean, and then do all this stuff.
Thank you so much!!! Our printer was about to go outside to the rubbish dump and we were going to BUY a new one....which I hate in this 'Throwaway society'so that s great! Absolutely Brilliant!!
Fantastic, it worked like a charm. I was 5 minutes away from throwing the damn printer away and going out to buy new one, and then I found this video. Shame on Canon
Very helpfull. I spent several houres trying to find software. Also the inkt patches are conected with small rubber hoses to the rear side of the printer to a larger container which is also full of ink. If you remove the right side panel with 3 screwes. 1 front 2 rear, you can easely remove the white container and clean the larger inkt patches with hot water. Gloves requierd. Squeeze them out and put them back. Connect rubber hose, and your ready to run for several years. Thank you.
This is brilliant. Thank you for sharing your video. Your instructions were very clear which quickly and easily enabled me to clear the 5B02 code I had on my Canon printer.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I am so happy not to have to replace a perfectly good printer which thought it had a problem in its tiny troubled digital brain but in fact it doesn't. Wonderful. You are a star to have done all this work and explained it so well so we can all benefit and not waste our perfectly good printers! Also I loved the swearing in this video. It really made me laugh as I was rescuing my poor stupid self-deluded little printer with its non-existent praaablems! Big thanks to you from Catherine in London
Excellent. Took me a few goes to get the printer to work in Service mode but worked like a charm after then. First printout was flawless (blooming programmed obsolescence !)....
A juz mialam wyrzucac drukare za okno, dziala super, dziekuje bardzo, i wlasnie przez takie glupie bledy korporacje zasyfiaja nam swiat. And I was about to throw the printers out the window, it works great, thank you so much.
Thanks for this , this got my printer going again although i did physically clean out my ink absorber first by removing the right side panel of the printer then removing the full ink absorber to clean it out.
Found an MG4250 thrown in a bin. Turned it on, 5B02 error. 5 minutes of Googling and I have a free £130 printer, with two-thirds full XL ink cartridges too. Not a bad day!
My MG4250 is in service mode and the service tool started but all functions in the service tool are "greyed" and not functional. I have seen indications that som printers are not possible to reset with this service tool - true?
You sir, are a champion! Hold your head high in the knowledge that you have rescued my printer from an untimely demise into landfill and saved me a few 'bob'. From the planet and I, thank you!

Here we are in 2023 and this still works!!! Fixed my MG4250 many thanks. 👍👍👍
can i ask if this is a solution to reset the ink cartridge errors. I have the same printer model. Thank you!
Thought we would have to buy a new printer, Canon weren't being much help, but your video got ours working again. Thank you !
I have used this video many times. It works. A clear explanation, I enjoyed the profanity and thank you VERY much for taking the time to post this. Mike.
Thank you so much - this saved me from chucking my printer out of the window in a rage! Your four hours research was well worthwhile.
OMG You're amazing. Your comments were exactly how I felt. Up and running. This worked on MG4160. Shame on the makers trying to get us to purchase new printers!
Ps. This was after I actually cleaned the ink absorbers.
Thank you so much for your 4 hours of tedious searching - it works and Canon should thank you too because they still have a customer!!
This worked on my MG4260 just now. You're fabulous and saved me $$$$$
Somebody give this guy a medal 🥇 thank you sir. You saved me a lot of stress this afternoon. 🤙🏽💫

This worked first time. My printer is a Cannon 4250. Thank you so much. You're a star ♥ May your life be filled with joy.
Like all the other people making comments I am greatly in debt to you. I would not have stood a chance of resolving this problem without your help
Thank you SO much. This along with actually removing and cleaning ink absorbers solved my problem! Fantastic! I think it is truly terrible that this happens. you saved my life too. Canon told me that it was a mechanical problem and I had to send my printer to Canon to fix it or buy another one. thanks a lot
You save my life. Every pc technicians I called said me "Printer is dead".. I try this and tadaaaa IT WORKS!!
Thanks heaps. While it took me a couple of times, my printer is now working. While it sounds clunky while printing, I am sure it will rectify it's self. @@leesaparker7682 Yes, and no problems with scammers, etc 👍
