The more I see of Tom's stand up, the more I realize he's a cut above Bert, Ari and Joe.
Joey, Tom and Theo von are the only ones funny in my opinion.
Tom is like Kyle Dunnigan. He's an ok stand up, but his best work and true calling is on UA-cam
Tom carries Bert completely in these podcasts. Bert is a clown that everyone laughs along with initially but eventually the whole "manchild" thing starts to get boring. I've enjoyed all of Tom's Netflix specials, Rogan's too but barely made it halfway through Bert's recent one.
Bert is the most over rated comedian in the game... he stays towards the top mostly because of his crew of friends Rogan, Tom, Diaz etc
The important thing to remember, is every comedian is funnier than Ari.

Tom is the most logical out of Joe, Ari and Bert. Most people look to Joe as the leader of the sober October group, but I honestly look to Tom for guidance on these touchy subjects.
Mike Marucut For me it’s because Joe sways with public opinion too easily. Won’t touch some things to avoid backlash whereas Tom seems to genuinely go with his gut feelings.

I watched Ari do comedy for my first time many years ago. My initial thought was that this guy is just o.k. He struck me as someone who thought he was funnier than he actually is. I feel that way even more so now

MajorBoothroyd007 he did show remorse for that to be fair. It’s as remorseful as you’ll ever see him anyway. He does go through hoops to help young comedians get paid and keep roofs over their head, even if it means he loses out on money. He also cares about giving his fans what they want, and he still has a lot of fans.
@@Scoobay one could say he does all that selfishly, and strategically. I don't believe Ari is doing any of this because he's a good guy.

People need to realize that when someone is defending a friend, what they’re are doing is condemning their friend’s actions just not condemning their friend! That’s all it is!

“Anything he’s said is not indicative of who he is”, one of the best of the many lessons I learned from Bojack Horesman is the notion that there really isn’t a “deep down inside, I’m a good person”. Who you are, really just boils down to the things you choose to do day in and day out. Ari can be a thoughtful, and introspective person like his friends say he is, and he can also be a narcissistic asshole who’s sense of humor thrives of tragedies like these. Call it self sabotage or he’s just a giant dick who doesn’t really care how his actions affect others and long as he gets a good laugh. The two are not mutually exclusive, and it’s okay to say that.
