The best tip that I have to suggest is when you’re turning in too much during a drift, finish the drift and then press the jump button without drifting or touching the directional buttons to straighten out the kart if you’re at risk of crashing into a wall. Also when starting new drifts, face further away from the edge of the side of the track you’re drifting on since you’ll turn more.

I've started using Turn after using exclusively Speed and Drift for ages. Starting to realise just how underrated Turn is, it makes certain tracks so much easier. Keeping blue fire on many tracks becomes so much more managable.
I'm offended sometimes because people underestimate turn characters. Turn chars actually my main, i don't know why
while they are not as fast, they are devastating at the right hands! I've known a few people too that dominates with Turn
The way you use turning characters reminds me of how I used to use them back in the day, but for some reason, they're the only part of the game I've remained super rusty on.
Hopefully after watching this, my remaining muscle memory will awaken, and I'll once again be 100% versatile instead of maining speed characters like I currently do.
I was hoping Spyro was gonna be a Turning character and force me to learn turning characters, but I was spoiled with him being another speedster.
If Nina is the star of the next Grand Prix, I hope she's a turning character instead of another Accelerator.

For now, since I've already unlocked everything in this month's grand prix, I should really take this time out of my comfort zone and practice with turning characters, as well as becoming a better item trickster, both defensively and aggressively, rather than pray that everyone else misuses their items or gets unlucky with what they receive.
This video was helpful, and also, I think I raced against you a few times early on when everyone was still shaking off their rust and getting their legs back underneath them.
It was brutal then, and it's still brutal now because everyone you raced against have grown in skill since then.

Yeah most players right now are much better than when the game first launched. So even I have to start learning and improve to win online too! But yeah I was hoping Spyro would be balanced or turn too, but I guess Beenox will receive many backlash to "downgrade" (as many ppl call it) a popular character. Hopefully future popular characters will be turn or balanced, gives the game more versatility!
I mainly use the balance class. I was tempted to to switch to speed or acceleration but, after a lot of experience online, learning the shortcuts and maintaining blue fire helped me to eventually out speed even players who use the speed or acceleration engine. These videos were a lot of help.
I've been a turn user since day 1 and won't change. But I do enjoy using some speed characters from time to time. Good tips btw specially the wumpa fruit one since I tend to focus on the race and shortcuts of the track I'm playing that I tend to forget about the speed that the fruit gives, unless the shortcut has the fruit box lol.

Yea, changing stats / engines would be great! I know some people who love to play polar / pura but don't, simply because they are beginner characters

I feel like it depends mostly on the track. You’ll have a better chance on Cortex Castle as opposed to something like Blizzard Bluff.
But great vid, tips are still useful/viable. I’m a drift main but I play turn class from time to time just to mess around. It’s like an extra challenge:)

...Although part of that might be because my favourite characters are turning, thus I’m quite biased aha. But like you said, when one wins a race with a turn character, the feeling of satisfaction is amazing.

Here's a tip, aiming for full meter boosts is more crucial than just aiming for perfects. Here are some other crucial tips for a turning class.
1) You must know how to snake on straight ways efficiently, meaning drifting in a near straight line. (Yes this is possible and probably the most technical thing for turning class.)
2) Don't drift boost when you don't need to and just run off of reserves. (This is why full meter boosts are crucial). With enough reserves you can just drive down the whole straight section with the glass on android alley without drifting. Once you've pretty much mastered full meter boosts you can cut much more time out of your race by getting through sections without drifting.

that is true, sometimes it's harder than speed on some tracks
I play balanced because I used crash almost exclusively in the original and I got used to it.
And with al the pro players everywhere, I'm amazed with the amount of people who just ignore the wumpa fruits entirely.
Also, I like to leave the beakers right inside crates >:D

Yep! Easily! You just gotta practice a lot. Been using Polar since the original CTR. I've beaten all of N. Tropy's times and 5 or 6 of N. Oxide's times. With only Polar lmao. You have to work so much harder though, but really worth it!

Turning is even more useless since the Drift class was added and patched but I sometimes use it in local races against AI or friends for that extra bragging rights lol

Have to disagree. Turning is completely useless in NF because of mid air brake turning that let's you go around any corner with speed class while maintaining any fire. Besides you wanna be able to drift boost on straights something that's challenging for turning and thus u can easily lose fire. Just losing a lot of reservoir getting to the next boosting viable point can screw this too. Can see turning being viable in the original though.
I agree it does give satisfaction beating people online with turning though. Used to do this with Ripper Roo before classes were interchangeable. Everybody not a noob knows they got BMd on.
Theres literally no reason to use turn outside of maybe doing battles. Now that its not locked to characters. Turn is just an unnecessary disadvantage and by far the most difficult type to use.
Also Australia sucks online, can never find games except against the highest calibre racers and thats only if it didn't decide to crash... Ironically.
So using turn is a terrible idea.

I agree for accel, but U turn isn't explained in the game, with new classes it can be remooved. In my opinion it has sense.
