    I forgot to mention you don’t have to jump while U-Turning on the ground, however it’s a good habit to get used to! (:

      What’s the benefit of jumping then, to get around faster?

    Good tutorial man, personally when I explain the U turn, I always tell everyone to release off the gas button first, then the most step (the most important) hold down arrow first and foremost before you hold brake (while turning in the direction you need to with D-pad). As long as you hold the down arrow button before you hold brake, you'll never lose your reserves on the ground, and after the U turn is complete, never release your finger off the down arrow button until you've released your finger off the brake button. The down arrow button is the most important button to whole this whole U turn process otherwise you'll either air brake in the air or you'll come to a full stop and lose your reserves on the ground.

    honestly you did a good job. I came by because I did the air brake by accident. and I saw people doing amazing turns of course.

    Much better than part 1. The list and an explanation on why it doesn't stop momentum helped. I'm gonna try it this evening. Thank you.

    Subbed because of this video. Out of the 15 odd videos that I’ve watched, your one is by far the most clear/helpful. Thank-you so much for showing your audience this important skill, as well as showing us some scenarios where it is helpful ( like dragon mines )

      That’s amazing to hear:) thank you for the kind words. It’s super hard to explain so you can’t blame other youtubers! But thanks again!!!

      Awesome! I’m so glad they helped you out! The Dev’s trials aren’t easy by any means lol, but keep it up!!(:

    Ah, sweet man! On some tracks I'm really good with keeping the blue fire ;)

    Surprised they never explain this in-game since there's a few tracks in the game that are borderline unplayable without U turning lmao.

    I play with the stick but switch to d-pad when I do U-turn. Just feels better. But it took me a lot of time to get used to u-turns. The fact that you have to hold break instead of acceleration is very disorienting at first.

    U turn is down + direction + square

    good video although it's not necessary to jump in order to u turn, makes the explanation way easier for someone trying to learn: reverse, direction and break, thats it

    When I do this my blue fire instantly disappears. Why is it not working for me?!

    how do you jump as fast as in the hairpin in dragon mines? I know how use the u-turn but I can't make such small jumps, even if I jump many times in rapid succession

    Do you have to brake and push down at EXACR same time, or just while you're in the air?

    • @ItzYack
      @ItzYack  4 роки тому +1

      Yes! When you brake, you must hold down (backwards) in order to keep moving. If you don’t hold down and just brake then you’ll stop. It works in air and on ground

    How long roughly will it take for someone that never u turned ever to get used and comfortable with u turning? I played for 4 months and still dont feel comfortable doing it especially on turbo track which i find impossible. Im just taking a break whilst im crying thinking i can never do it 😪 even though i beat velos times.

    • @ItzYack
      @ItzYack  4 роки тому

      It took me a little over a week. But I know people who played from the beginning with me who still can’t do it. You need to break it down in parts to learn. Make sure you can hold blue fire for a good portion of the map, then learn air braking; which is just braking in the air and turning. Practice it on maps like Hot Air Skyway. Or just sit in battle mode and practice hitting a jump and turning with the air brake. You gotta learn the importance of turning around corners and the angles before u-turning.

  • @Fl0oyd

    I! I would like to ask you if you use the directional arrows or the analogue to do the u turn :)

    • @ItzYack
      @ItzYack  4 роки тому +1

      I use the d pad for every race instead of the stick. If you can get used to the d pad, it’ll be extremely beneficial

    • @Fl0oyd
      @Fl0oyd 4 роки тому

      Itz Yack I also use the d-pad (in my language directional arrows). now I'm used to it, in the same way I used to play with the original game as a child. unfortunately I sometimes find it hard to understand how you can get the fluency and responsiveness that you see for example on the new track. I can't understand how it is possible to be so fast with your fingers by making instant u-turns. I'm doing well, I have excellent positions in time trials (the best is koala circus: around 1600 in the world) and I agree to think that the d-pad is more effective, but I would like to understand how to use it better. However thanks and good continuation! I love your performances :)

      I explain blue fire, air brake, and u turning. As someone who was top 10 ranked every season, I’m sure you could use it 😁
