I'm convinced this music is some form of hypnosis to get you to buy things you don't need. I got a Robocop laserdisc. What the hell am I going to do with a Robocop laserdisc.
American retail employees: Gah, December is the WORST! The crowds, the stress, and the same songs OVER AND OVER! HARD-OFF employees: Oh, you get tired of hearing the same 50 songs on repeat? That's cute.
I lived in a small town just off sapporo and would shop here nearly every week. This theme and the Donki Hote theme are forever ingrained in my memories of Japan . Man what a trip.
If you guys dig this, perhaps you will also like this : _Watering a flower Haruomi Hosono 1984 cassette (花に水)_ . It's an entire album made by Yellow Magic Orchestra's Haruomi Hosono that was played in Muji's retail stores in the 80's. It's something...Or you can even get ALL the music they played in their stores looking up _Muji BGM 1980-2000_ .
I live in Japan, and I hear this song in a weekly basis.. and I love it, both Hard Off and the song. My main target at Hard Off are old video game controllers, I have a big collection of Snes, N64, Sega Saturn controllers.
This sound is completely nostalgic. It makes me remember my previous trips to Japan... I would do everything it takes just to go back 😞 I can't help but feel that Japan is the place where I have to be... It's that one place that makes me feel so at-peace and authentically happy. I hope God finds a way. 👆🏻
This is the type of music you'd hear while playing Shenmue. Seriously, you can switch this with litterally any other store in the game. I expect this kind of looping for a casual overworld theme.
I know I've commented before but I have to state. While this is such a nice and catchy song. I would hate working there hearing this 8-10 hours a day everyday! surprised the workers don't go postal. they must have found either zen with it or find a mental power to tune it out over time. Still. I like it.
Trippy Nikki i know right! remember getting a super famicom in junk parts for 100¥ and then an av cable for 500 on a tray? then getting a guitar super cheap just because it's got "gari gari"? all the audio equipment at the end of the shop. nostalgia is too strong in this song. even more than miracle shopping from don quixote at least for me 😢 just go once and it will be stuck in your head forever. it's been 2 years and i still don't recover 😭
Seriously bcos same!!! The second time I went to japan was last december and going home back to my country feels like a total turndown 😭 If I could live in japan I totally would... the system's too great, that country's worth living in... hearing this song just makes me both happy and sad at the same time 😂😭
Trippy Nikki i had the same plans believe it or not. i don't know which part you visited but i was mostly in rural areas. kandatsu, ibaraki and hara, shizuoka. so silent and peaceful. if it wasn't for the hard jobs, the residence method and the language barrier. japan is the best place to live. just sleeping in an old worn out traditional house, super hot in summer and cold in winter is a unique experience. pick up your mama chari and buy some lunch at half price after 7 pm. those are japanese everyday things nobody mentions lol
I stayed at tokyo! And I definitely know what you're talking about! The Summit supermarket right? Like all meats and veggies go half price at 7pm... I love that ❤️ Have you tried onsens? You know those huge places filled with hot springs, sauna rooms, hot tubs and cold ones too? Onsens seriouuuuusly feel SO relaxing, especially during winter time.
Trippy Nikki summit supermarket? i recognise that logo but i've never went there. we mostly had trial mart and seiyu. i can mention the momo, marumo, mamy, big fuji and some others. always remember getting the only sushi left at 1 AM after a long journey with a big bottle of kirin soda (cheaper than mitsuya 🤣) going to the onsen house was the only thing i missed from Japan. it's a shame but next time i'll go for sure ^_^, but at least i can say i took several baths in a japanese style home bath. now i have to use the bathtub once in a while :D
I wish someday I get to visit Japan and hear this IRL, watching all those cheap and in almost perfect state consoles is heaven for the average latino gamer LOL
I don't know why I search and then found this video. I can vividly remember the music with the lady saying the advertisement for the store. Going to this place every two weeks really gave me PTSD.
I went to japan and just back like literally last week. And i really love my trip. Especially i visit Hobby Off, Hard Off and also Mode Off. And this song keeps playing in my and my bf's head ever since the 1st visit 😂😂
Went to Tokyo in May this year on a solo trip and went to every Hard-Off I could. So crazy how it’s only been 3 months and this song is oddly nostalgic 😂 Such great memories tied to this song!
I went to this store annually in Akihabara to score some retro consoles for 500-1000 yen each. The problem was that you never knew if they were going to work, since they were sold as "junk".
this song is totally infectious and has led to so many unwise purchasing decisions while i've been in japan... but i need to know what it's like for the workers. do they ever walk in off-duty and just scream in agony when they hear this? i would. it's one song on repeat every hour they're open
I went Christmas shopping at Hard off and I was even humming the tune. Then I realized it was gonna loop for eternity and it became agonizing torture... I had to finish my shopping early. Sorry siblings. You get nothing from Japan.
Reminds me a lot of Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2's OST, specifically it feels like a mix of Gentle Breeze and For A Better Tomorrow in vibes, especially with the bass.
They should play this music in the background on the Hard Off Net Mall page :D
