- We couldn't complete the updates undoing changes - boot loop fix stuck and how to fix.
message, and your Windows 10/8/7 PC is stuck in a loop, then this post may help you.
While updating one of my dual-boot Windows 10 laptops, I saw this screen. If your system can undo the changes, it is good; you will be able to at least boot into your Windows desktop, from where you can troubleshoot your Windows Update issues. But in my case, the laptop just went into an endless reboot loop, fix, stuck.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung). - Наука та технологія

Many thanks for this. I was facing that issue for a while now and was trying the F8 button on start to try and load the safe mode, but that was also failing. You've hit bull's eye!!! Thanks again
I wanted to thank you again. My laptop seemed stick on returning what you called “restore computer to an earlier point” for almost three hours and was starting to lose hope. But it has worked and you are my hero. Thank you so much!!!
Which tile did you use in troubleshoot?
You just saved my life. Omg I had an exam in a hour and I went to bed and closed my laptop when I woke up it was in that loading mode changes for about a good hour and thirty minutes. Was literally hyperventilating cause there was no other way to access my online exam if through my laptop and it had my notes. Thank You so much. This worked🥺🥺🥺🥺
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much for this video! My laptop was stuck on a loop of undoing the updates for hours and I was worried there would be no way to fix it but this has!! 👍👍👍
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much for this! Restarting it 3 times actually fixed the problem
You're welcome!
Yessss finally a method that isn't taking the battery out of my computer and all about plugging in a disk. Mines doing system restore right now, it was difficult to get it to that menu but hopefully it will work.

I hate windows 10 win 7 best
Chris Dan preach
So tru
Chris Dan yeah I no
True
I personally disagree
i dont know why MS still uses system restore, that shit hasn't worked since win98
That is a good one.
I don't think it was in Win98.
Had to turn off and on and off 3 times to get to that menu. Attempting the restore point. Everything up until this latest update was fine..seriously considering a mac now.
alt and f10 then power.find trouble shoot
Me too lol
I have had this problem recently. Ive been tired of Windows for a while so I decided to switch to Ubuntu Linux put Windows in a container. Sick of Microsoft nonsense.
@Its birdcatkity I feel like reading this caused me to have a stroke
Not working
I did a system restore, which worked. And the computer restarted. Only to automatically update again and give the same error. How do I prevent automatic updates?
This is complete horseshit. You are effectively having us kick back to an earlier restore point. This isn't a "fix".
I appreciate you putting this together but it would help much more to just hold us what to do instead of walking through all the other options that are not needed we can figure out what those are as needed. Perhaps just the streps to take and that’s thst
also you can wait, i waited it to loop like 8 times and then it loaded into windows 10
alex the modder same lol lucky
Wtf how legit all day keeps on looping
Clicking alt “f10 four times” worked for me to get this menu open.
I’m glad I could help everyone below!
Thank you so much man none of the videos or articles helped me but your comment did.
Thank youuuuuuu
thank u sir

I am trying the restore point hope it works, best of luck
Same I’m literally crying and I regret updating

After watching 2 or 3 10m+ videos u solved my problem with ur first solution. God bless you
I think this is a great and very informative video on fixing the update problem "undoing changes". I had a similar problem with my computer too.
I would get a blue screen stating a critical error has occurred after windows would open up after a short time. I had a few driver errors (39) in "Device Manager" that wouldn't run my wireless mouse or printing capabilities. I tried to reinstall the drivers but it wouldn't let me. I tried to do a restore point, a reset with "Save Files", a reset with "Don't Save Files" all just to get a "Undoing Changes" each time after it tried to do a reset of windows 10. I tried this over and over again to no avail wasting a lot of time. I tried many other ways I found online but nothing worked. So after wasting almost a whole weekend on this I went directly to the Microsoft website and downloaded "Microsoft Media Creation Tool" for windows 10 that someone recommended. I downloaded this and opened it up directly on my computer and ran it saying "Save my Files and Apps". It took over 2 hours to download and upload. I just saw a blue box in the middle of my desktop saying "Windows 10" or something like that for the longest time and was tempted to turn my computer off, but didn't. I couldn't believe it but it worked when it finished! I went into Device Manager and all the driver errors were gone and everything was back to normal! All my files and apps were also still there! I don't know if this will work for other problems than what I was experiencing but I would think so. It just re-installs and fixes all corrupt files and drivers in Windows 10. My computer is running faster now too. I hope this can help others as I know of the frustration of this believe me. Take care.
Nice and helpful video, thanks! But i wanted to ask if the first reset option (the keep my files one) would actually just uninstall my apps? I'm woried that some files such as photos, and documents, might get removed as well. Those are one of the reasons why i bought a pc after all.
is there a way to turn off my PC without updating? i cant be doing this everytime I want to restart my PC
Turn WiFi off before you hit shutdown..
Yes
Thank you, this was super helpful, at first it said it didn't work but then when I turned my pc back on again it said it worked
You're welcome!
Can you help me please ... so I been stuck on this loop for 3 days and I just reset my laptop to factory and ever since then it’s been stuck looping and idk what’s wrong with it ... can you please help me with this. 😭😭
Help I pressed reset this pc as my first options and I selected keep files now it says "Undoing changes" it just spins what can I do? Im not gonna risk my file if I hard restart this it might fail
I just had this problem with my old computer. That only confirms that it was worth a lot to switch from Windows to Linux about 4 years ago.
Thank you so much I’ve been sitting in the same spot for like 4 hours trying to fix everything I just tried to delete an update but it did that, I’m so relieved that it worked that you
Glad I could help
I’m trying to get into the recovery mode but it’s stuck at “Attempting repairs” Help?
When I click on Restart Now after uninstalling the latest update, the computer shuts down AFTER it reinstalls the update again, reinstalling before it boots. Thus, it restarts with the same problem. Do you need to change the Microsoft Update settings before the msconfig? I see that the Updates are not accessible in Safe Mode.
I cant get this window.. My lenovo goes straight to Undoing changes after the lenovo logo appears. Help
same
I had the same case. I have created a bootable win 10 usb, booted from it and got to this window. Still trying to fix the issue at the moment though.
Dude how did you fixed it?
@@shayanaich7538 Once I got to the window, I went with options to fix the windows. It worked on 2nd or 3rd attempt of choosing different option. Can't exactly remember which one did the fix at the end, but it was one of the provided options in that window.
My laptop still stucks on “undoing changes made to your computer...”
Im trying to do the system restore and it's asking me for my outlook password. Whenever I put in my password it's showing as incorrect. I even reset the password

May I know how much times you guys use to restore your files?
hello, i did this fix (system restore) before, but i encountered the issue again... when i tried to system restore again, the dialog box only loads halfway and then promptly returns to the "continue, troubleshoot, turn off your pc" screen. any advice on what I should do? thank you?
How do you know if the update happened? I went to sleep while it was updating and now i dont know if i need to reset or just let it power on.
I'm having issues where if I try to find updates or try updating my drivers, it never finds anything and keeps looking and looking. Then I try to close out of it and it won't even close out. I then have to open task manager to do so. So I restart my PC and see if that helps and every now and then it works and updates but then it'll go back to not updating and finding anything. It's really frustrating considering I've called Microsoft and they told me it was because of my third party anti virus I was using which blocks out some things of future updates. Just doesn't make sense and I was wondering if you knew of any solutions. Thanks!
This is the second lap top this happens to during an update I'm switching to Linux
How will you run windows programs?
My pc keeps turning on for 5 seconds then turns off then back on until an error screen appears can u help
You wanna take out your battery and plug in your laptop for 15 seconds. Then go into recovery mode and delete all of your stuff. I’m sorry it’s the only way.
My laptop is continuously blinking with the message undoing changes ....what should I do?
Thank you 🙏🏾! I know this video is not new but it saved me a lot of headache. Much appreciated
It took me a couple tries but I finally got to the screen. I did a system restore. I made sure to turn OFF my wifi box because if there is no wifi the updates won't run. The computer restarted and went to getting windows ready as if it was trying to update but once it got to 100 % it restarted like normal. My computer is back up and running for now.
how i can get to that automatic repair menu,i turned computer on and off 3 times but nothing happend
@@djordjezelenovic7596 I had to keep trying until it went to that screen but make sure you turn your wifi OFF or the computer will try to run the updates again.

When i restart it 3 times or press shift+f8 when i turn it on it goes to a screen that says "Recovery" and not "automatic repair" also there are 3 options:
press enter to try again
press f8 for startup settings
press esc for UEFI Firmware Settings
Same here.. Anyone figure out what to do next?
This idea of turning the laptop on and off three times is BS. Mine just goes straight back to the annoying updating changes screen.

Bro... Excellent video.. it works for me perfectly.. thanks 🤟🤟🤟
You're welcome!
Hello guys! Great video, thanks for the good explanations:)
I see that many of us still encounter this problem, so I wanted to let you know which solution worked for me. I tryed the system restore solution 2:44 ( the first solution), and it actually worked. You have to wait a little bit, but at the end it worked. I searched a lot for a sulution but didnt seem to find one that works...everyone said just wait, but my PC was in a freaking loop hole. I want to congratulate the creator of this video again for the great solutions that he's sharing. Thanks a lot, hope it helps you guys! 😊
Just wanted to point out that after doing a restore point, windows will still try to install the update that caused the problem and then the whole thing with "We Couldn't Complete The Updates Undoing Changes" comes back! This has happened to me twice now. I have since paused the automatic updates from updating but this is only for so many days ( a month or so) and then the system demands to be updated before anything else. Then back in the same circle of silliness with this glitch that seems to never go away! I personally have been dealing with it for months!
I can't provide system authentication because I can only type accents for some reason (despite me owning a British keyboard and using that layout)
That the video my friend did to my pc to change the pass and he forgot it I tried to exactly work but nothin worked

THANK YOU!!! Amazing, I lost all hope, had rebooted 10 times and it always came back to the endless loop...then finally, without my doing anything else, it came back to normal!! QUESTION... Please help: My computer is an old HP Pavilion, has been good for years. When Win 10 came along, all the pop ups recommended upgrading my win 7 to win 10. Finally I did it,, and regretted ever since. It is a downgrade for me. Computer lost almost all its sound, so I have to use a speaker with it for sound now, and other little problems. Also, when Win 10 asks me to upgrade, the "improvements" that I am aware of are negative. For example, since the last "upgrade", it INSISTS on remembering everywhere on the net that I went last time, and bringing all those windows up again, even if I use "SHUTDOWN". I prefer starting fresh each day. QUESTION: Can I just say no to upgrades, if I want to?
I am getting “we have some updates for your pc” and that it might take a few minutes
