Technically Homelander is mortal, but I get what you’re saying. The only thing that gives Homelander any sense of self worth is that he’s the most powerful person on the planet. If someone like, say, Soldier Boy, takes away his powers, then I can see one of three things happening. Homelander kills himself rather than live his life as a human, he goes to prison and probably gets executed for all of his crimes, or Butcher will beat him to death with his crowbar. Either way, Homelander is beyond screwed.
How is Butcher evil? He is just radical. No compromise, every real revolutionary in history was like that. I think Butcher is a better person than Hughie and Mm. I trust people like him more

It will feel right if well deserved (not fully happy in other words), the heroes need to pay the price, you can't save everyone in a story like this, but a fully bad ending is not the only way to fit the story

When he wakes up he's suffering amnesia and forgets all his powers. Eventually he gets a job driving an ice cream truck round neighbourhoods selling 99's and mint Magnums to shouty kids.
Whatever it is, I don’t want him to die from a bunch of other supes teaming up on him. The show has always been about the humanity in people winning against these super powerful, evil forces. So whatever his death is, it should continue that main theme of the show.

I'm with Chase on this one, I want Homelander to want his death in the end. Him losing his powers and dying a mortal death isn't a fair fate, he didn't just wake up and decide he was better than humans, that fact was painfully proven to him for years.

Milk is actually his secret weakness and affects his biology in a way not even Vought knew, he wasn't even aware of and it actually weakens him for 1-2 hours after taking before it wears off. This is how Maeve was able to actually harm him in the S3 finale.

I think Soldier Boy must and will play a huge role in this, it will be all about Butcher, Soldier Boy, Ryan and Homelander. If Soldier boy takes Homie power, then the virus must be for him, if not, i think only Homie can kill Soldier Boy (don't know how powerful Butcher is), but Homie will kill Soldier Boy only if he kills Ryan or teams up again with Butcher. If so, i guess Ryan will be the one who should kill Homelander injecting him with the virus, after he killed Butcher (and almost the rest of the cast)
I want kinda Max Payne 3 ending for this. He's the only man in the sky? Well, they find a way to bring him down to earth (he loses his powers). After that Butcher is ready to kill him, but Ryan stops him (with words). Homelander is brought to justice next, dying in a cell after some time (by his hand or the others'), and Butcher, relieved, finally gets to live his life for once, even if it's for a short time. Some details may change, like Butcher may not survive to see this through, but for Homelander - i think it fits pretty well. Probably not gonna happen anyway.
Here's an idea for the ultimate, karmic demise for Homelander: We turn the tables. Homelander losing his powers and being mortal for once seems to be a pretty popular fan theory, and I can see why; You take someone who is so used to seeing themself as divine, immortal, untouchable and you drag him down to the same playing field of as everybody else. This would be pretty impactful for Homelander... but I'd think it'd be even more impactful if it was a de-powered Homelander facing against a Billy Butcher *with* powers. To completely turn the dynamic between Butcher and Homelander on its head. It doesn't have to be executed exactly as how I proposed it, but I feel like it is ESSENTIAL for Homelander to be figuratively powerless in his last moments. No grand heroic fight scene with ultra-choreographed action, no grandstanding about who is right and who is wrong, and no truth claims about who is fighting for a better tomorrow. For Homelander's demise to be karmic, it needs to be done as he has done to others: Swift. Wrathful. Violent. For once he must be on the receiving end of the kind of horrific bloodshed he has dealt, for he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword, and who better to carry that out by the villain who will usurp him... Billy Butcher.
A-Train's part 💀☠️🔥-that ending was completely out of the box, maybe the best yet. We've been with the show since Season 1, and it's pretty obvious that Homelander will eventually die in the end, and everything will stop... but what if it doesn't? That ending is something else. It's darker and perfectly suited to the show's dark theme, much like how Amazon's Invincible handled Omni-Man in Episode 1. Plus, full-rage Homelander destroying everything is on another level.
I think unlikely, but very interesting and unexpected plot would be for Homelander to fall in love with Butcher now he is a supe too. I think they both are already kind of infatuated with each other, and their hate for each other is more of a secret admiration, especially given both are misogynists and arent really capable of loving a woman outside of stupid nurturing clishes, but now Butcher is a supe, what will stop Homelander from adoring him, especially given he only ever cares for people who challenge him. So if Butcher kills him it would be like a tragic love story or something... that would be awesome

Controversial Opinion: I like A-Trains idea the best. It would be fun to see a future series or movie with The Boys dead and following Homelander securing the world under his own. Just so then it can end with Ryan killing Homelander. And then another series or season of this series following Ryan trying to rebuild the world after his father’s destructive reign.

Considering that Soldier Boy comes back in the last season, Homelander losing his powers seems like a pretty possible outcome. How it goes after that? Eh, who knows. But a slow agonizing death where he has to deal with his "humanity" as he physically deteriorates into an old man shamed by everyone or a quicker, but still prolonged death infused with human brutality(like that bat scene in Inglorious Basterds) would be a fitting end for him.

I’ve been thinking for years about this, but I’d like to see Homelander lose all respect and love. His exposè is all out there; the truth about Flight 37, his lack of respect for humans, his body count, his corruption, Ryan abandoning him, etc. Everybody sees him for who he truly is. He is guaranteed to break. Either he goes on a rampaging killing spree, eventually leading the Boys to his vulnerable ego and killing him, or, how i’d see it as well, he “offs” himself.
I think the end of Homelander should be the end of his powers, him having them taken away from him by being force-injected by some type of antidote, or serum, then locked away in case his powers come back. If he uses his powers to hurt people, using them to control other people, to strike fear in them, one of his greatest fears is losing his powers. Homelander had his powers for so long, and long enough has he used them to terrorize innocent people. I think taking them away will teach him a lesson. A lesson, knowing what it feels like to be scared of something he can't control. Something, or someone he can't easily kill as he once did. Something that is much stronger than him.
If feel like theboys will find a way to strip his powers. Butcher might sacrifice himself for that and then he dies of some mortal cause. While Soldier boy takes over so theboys kinda take the L in the end.

Homelander gets stripped from his powers, gets locked up in a cell waiting for trial and then. Armed guards with the virus rush to his cell as Homelander seems to be levitating and regained his powers somehow, only to be revealed he hanged himself.

I'm with Chase on this one, I want Homelander to want his death in the end. Him losing his powers and dying a mortal death isn't a fair fate, he didn't just wake up and decide he was better than humans, that fact was painfully proven to him for years.

Milk is actually his secret weakness and affects his biology in a way not even Vought knew, he wasn't even aware of and it actually weakens him for 1-2 hours after taking before it wears off. This is how Maeve was able to actually harm him in the S3 finale.

I think Soldier Boy must and will play a huge role in this, it will be all about Butcher, Soldier Boy, Ryan and Homelander. If Soldier boy takes Homie power, then the virus must be for him, if not, i think only Homie can kill Soldier Boy (don't know how powerful Butcher is), but Homie will kill Soldier Boy only if he kills Ryan or teams up again with Butcher. If so, i guess Ryan will be the one who should kill Homelander injecting him with the virus, after he killed Butcher (and almost the rest of the cast)
I want kinda Max Payne 3 ending for this. He's the only man in the sky? Well, they find a way to bring him down to earth (he loses his powers). After that Butcher is ready to kill him, but Ryan stops him (with words). Homelander is brought to justice next, dying in a cell after some time (by his hand or the others'), and Butcher, relieved, finally gets to live his life for once, even if it's for a short time.
Some details may change, like Butcher may not survive to see this through, but for Homelander - i think it fits pretty well. Probably not gonna happen anyway.
Here's an idea for the ultimate, karmic demise for Homelander: We turn the tables.
Homelander losing his powers and being mortal for once seems to be a pretty popular fan theory, and I can see why; You take someone who is so used to seeing themself as divine, immortal, untouchable and you drag him down to the same playing field of as everybody else. This would be pretty impactful for Homelander... but I'd think it'd be even more impactful if it was a de-powered Homelander facing against a Billy Butcher *with* powers. To completely turn the dynamic between Butcher and Homelander on its head.
It doesn't have to be executed exactly as how I proposed it, but I feel like it is ESSENTIAL for Homelander to be figuratively powerless in his last moments. No grand heroic fight scene with ultra-choreographed action, no grandstanding about who is right and who is wrong, and no truth claims about who is fighting for a better tomorrow. For Homelander's demise to be karmic, it needs to be done as he has done to others: Swift. Wrathful. Violent. For once he must be on the receiving end of the kind of horrific bloodshed he has dealt, for he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword, and who better to carry that out by the villain who will usurp him... Billy Butcher.
A-Train's part 💀☠️🔥-that ending was completely out of the box, maybe the best yet. We've been with the show since Season 1, and it's pretty obvious that Homelander will eventually die in the end, and everything will stop... but what if it doesn't? That ending is something else. It's darker and perfectly suited to the show's dark theme, much like how Amazon's Invincible handled Omni-Man in Episode 1. Plus, full-rage Homelander destroying everything is on another level.

I think unlikely, but very interesting and unexpected plot would be for Homelander to fall in love with Butcher now he is a supe too.
I think they both are already kind of infatuated with each other, and their hate for each other is more of a secret admiration, especially given both are misogynists and arent really capable of loving a woman outside of stupid nurturing clishes, but now Butcher is a supe, what will stop Homelander from adoring him, especially given he only ever cares for people who challenge him.
So if Butcher kills him it would be like a tragic love story or something... that would be awesome

If Homelander will die similarly to how he was treated as a kid, it would feel like an L for humanity, idk how to describe it better.
But he's definitely not going for any redemption, he's too far gone at this point. Instead i think he needs to realise that humans are better than him some other, non-physical way, which of course will piss him off beyond any reasonable limits and he will just "blow on his own petard" or whatever Hughie's actor said. Homelander has never been loved. At least, he should have Ryan beside him to tell him that he loves Homelander so that he can die happier than his life was.
I want Homelander, Butcher, and Soilder Boy to fight to a bloody death with only Butcher surviving like in the comics and the rest of the Boys will sadly have to kill Butcher and Ryan who survives would have one sad last conversation with the good butcher.

I think tomer is rt, every season when they try to confront homelander, it always ends up being a broken plan and evb seems to be against each others ideals, so the perfect ending for me would be one of butchers best plans to take down homelander with the boys as a team, and maybe not wipe out the supe population bcuz not all of them are bad supes, compound v can either bring out the worst in you or the best in you, and I think butcher and ryan vs homelander and soldier boy should be the final fight of the series, maybe ryan isn’t far from saving, but he’s def done some crazy shi.

I like A-Trains idea the best. It would be fun to see a future series or movie with The Boys dead and following Homelander securing the world under his own. Just so then it can end with Ryan killing Homelander. And then another series or season of this series following Ryan trying to rebuild the world after his father’s destructive reign.

Considering that Soldier Boy comes back in the last season, Homelander losing his powers seems like a pretty possible outcome. How it goes after that? Eh, who knows. But a slow agonizing death where he has to deal with his "humanity" as he physically deteriorates into an old man shamed by everyone or a quicker, but still prolonged death infused with human brutality(like that bat scene in Inglorious Basterds) would be a fitting end for him.
i think it would be crazy if they have a full on fight with him , like EVERYONE goes against him and he just annihilates them but then somehow butcher kills him and doesn’t stop until MM tries to step in and calm him down but then he kills him and the rest of the boys leaving hughie alive as he does have that soft spot for him but instead of referring to him as hughie , he refers to him as Lenny and the series ends with hughie just being a normal dude…traumatised and then (cut to black) (Uptown Girl by Billy Joel starts playing)

I’ve been thinking for years about this, but I’d like to see Homelander lose all respect and love. His exposè is all out there; the truth about Flight 37, his lack of respect for humans, his body count, his corruption, Ryan abandoning him, etc. Everybody sees him for who he truly is. He is guaranteed to break. Either he goes on a rampaging killing spree, eventually leading the Boys to his vulnerable ego and killing him, or, how i’d see it as well, he “offs” himself.

I think the end of Homelander should be the end of his powers, him having them taken away from him by being force-injected by some type of antidote, or serum, then locked away in case his powers come back. If he uses his powers to hurt people, using them to control other people, to strike fear in them, one of his greatest fears is losing his powers. Homelander had his powers for so long, and long enough has he used them to terrorize innocent people. I think taking them away will teach him a lesson. A lesson, knowing what it feels like to be scared of something he can't control. Something, or someone he can't easily kill as he once did. Something that is much stronger than him.
If feel like theboys will find a way to strip his powers. Butcher might sacrifice himself for that and then he dies of some mortal cause. While Soldier boy takes over so theboys kinda take the L in the end.
