- My method for engraving custom ink pens to sell at events. I use jigs for almost every job that I do. This jig makes a set of 10 pens a breeze.
For templates that I have made, check out my Etsy shop. I build files for projects and tools for laser engravers.

Nothing says "good ole boy" like banjo music! Really enjoy your videos. 😊
Glad you enjoy it!
So grateful. We are brand new and really appreciate your time and help
Glad it helps
Thanks for another great tutorial! Appreciate all you do.
Thanks
I love this idea! Have already bought your jig files and now just bought this one to go with it !! Thanks sooo much ! I was gonna try and figure it out with my RA2 LOL
Enjoy…
Thanks for video. Great music too!
Glad you liked it!
Cool project!
Thanks!
My 5 watt can do this and I made my jig
Yea, It doesn’t take a lot of power to
@@TheClackShack I found that out thank you i’m upgrading soon so looking at either a CO2 or 22 W in the above I feel limited with the 5 W
Thanks for the information. I was wondering what types of pens can we engrave with a 10 watt diode laser? [wood, rubberized, etc...]
I stick with wood.
Make a wooden frame and put foam in it and slit foam
I prefer a more rugged approach. I also don't like cutting foam with a laser.

Good to hear
Can to this with a 5 watt
Yes, you can do the engraving with a 5 watt
The cutouts can be used for crop tags 🤔
Sure
Curious as to what price you will be wanting to get?
I have been doing 5 but moving all my smaller items up to 8. I will see how it works out. That is with 2 lines of texr
Thanks for the feedback
Quick question. I bought your jig sets for the D1 10pro and it has a bunch of the top piece that are different. How do I determine which to use? Your videos have helped me with a better basic understanding of this hobby.
Measure the inside spacing and pick accordingly. Should be in the notes inside the folder
Where did you get the pens
From a friend who runs a local business
Ok I found them on Amazon thank you though
Hi sir can you share yung svg files for your jigs🙂thank you
I sell them on etsy
I have made some engravings on these pens, I found that they came out sticky around the engraving, needed some scrubbing with alcohol . Maybe I have my power set too high?
I did numerous power tests to get it dialed in. Bamboo in general will weep if you heat it up too much. Dish soap will clean if needed.
Great video, I saw your comment and I have used white vinegar works as well tfor clean up..@@TheClackShack
Maybe I missed it on your etsy shop but is the pen jig listed? Do you find the pens themselves work well for writing? I don't normally have pens to sell or give because I don't want customers getting a pen that doesn't write. Great tutorial on lasering pens.
I use them in the shop and they work ok. It’s not a cross but for a utility pen, seems to work ok. They come with refills also
The pen jig isn’t in there yet.
@@TheClackShack I'll purchase it if you add it.
Looks like that Wizmaker 20w continues to crank out some good work!
So far, so good..
Good Morning! Will you be clear coating and if so, what with?
It’s bamboo, probably not but if I did, polycrylic.
Any free jig pens
I give away my pens at events
@@TheClackShack i have a DIY 10W ...i just need some jigs templates....i already have pens, metal cards etc

Cool
What machine are you using, please sir and thank you
That was the wizmaker 20 watt
Hooked on your videos. Just got my engraver yesterday. Do you finish ( CA , polish, etc) the pens before engraving? Thanks
no, straight out of the box.
As always amazing video and work! I was wondering if you have a video or can make one about the depth of text when engraving. I’m trying to say how do you choose and know how much it’s going to engrave in depth?
I burn up a pen to get the settings that I like.
for us left handers you can reverse the pen direction.
Mirror the graphic
Thanks for your video, with that style jig would 10mm font be good with those amazon pens, what size font were able to use and still burn well? Thanks again
It would depend on your settings. They are round, so too big will be on the side.
Add the array dimensions to your jig. That should make it easier to line up your text.
I am terrible at math some days….
Up early huh?
Scheduled… I don’t do mornings…lol
Great idea and jig. So, you don't use/need a rotary jig? Do you somehow get L Burn to compensate for the curve, or is it a nonissue?
Not an issue with just a line of text
Wait. What? You mean all these years using the aftermarket 3D printed string-driven methods was unnecessary?? 🙂 (at least for a single line of text). Damn! I'm gonna try that tonight. I have an order for a batch of 10. Even if it's 2 lines I assume you can just rotate it.
@@ramaroodle yes, it is that easy
