AC may not have the latest tyre model but it replicates the feeling of driving a car on the limit like no other sim. That’s one of the things that draws me to this title.

@@matthewjones3806 Yeah the fact you can get a key for complete edition of AC under 10 USD sometimes is insanely good value.
AC still has a lot of potential with the always improving , Custom shaders patch. "LUA" creates endless possibilities that a lot of modders are now starting to learn more and more about . Just wait until "extended physics" become more mainstream on AC , cars will feel even more realistic despite the outdated tires. i won't be surprised to see a LUA developed tire , which will keep up with todays standards, maybe even passing todays standards. Revolutionary ! God bless the creator of Custom shaders patch. If it weren't for him , AC would be dead long time ago .
I'm loving these "Vs. Real Life" series of videos! When Forza Motorsport 8 releases, will you add it to the rotation since you also feature GT7 (simcade racer) just to include all the major titles? Also, your sound mixing is top tier. I watch on a 5.1 surround system and even though UA-cam is stereo only, the camber of the Porsche really shines in this video as does your commentary that's well balanced and not too soft or loud. Keep up the great work!

I must admit I used to be a HARDCORE Ams1 fanboi, but obviously once the modding & devving taps were turned off I had to find a new title, I chose AC... It is king. I love the physics, the graphics (depending on filter used), it's just so, so good ❤️
I can never understand why people think AC is a good simulator. Aside from a great community, good pricing, large official content and mods, AC is just "meh", be it physics-wise or just as an overall racing simulator. It's often more bare-bones than arcade games when it comes to simulation features.
@@toquita3D ahhhh, horses for courses I guess?! I used to think it was really "meh" like you are saying, but then I really took the time to dial in the FFB on my CSW 2.5 and man, it really took it to another level. But I take onboard what you say, it's not for everyone 👍

@@aarongreen121 I don't mean in the "I don't have enough time on the sim" way, because I have more than 800 hours on it. What I mean is not subjective, but objective. Assetto Corsa is objectively a worse sim than most, specially in the simulation area.
Just to give you a few examples: no break wear whatsoever, and brake temperature seems to be implemented only on a handful of cars. No adjustable brake pressure. No true oil pressure/temperature simulation, no water temperature. AC can't handle stiff suspensions. No false starts, no garage starts. The aero simulation completely stops working at 45º banks.
And these are just a handful of limitations present in AC that weren't present in many titles when AC came out.

I was kinda amazed you got that laptime even with all those oversteer and understeer moments. I guess you push a bit harder than one would in real life in some corners because that car is very accurately made in AC. Also the Kevin's lap was mighty but not perfect

Just built my nlr wheel stand 2.0 with the t gt 2 and tlcm pedals, life is good, not full rig good but pretty close
i think that the biggest difference was in the speed. u reached 300kph while the real life lap only did 270 on the straight. maybe some specific in game settings or something. dope vid 🔥🔥🔥!!

It's pure. The speed blur effect is one of the demo lua scripts Ilya provides in the newer versions of CSP.

@ermz what was the track surface setting that you have used? I read in a forum post made by one of the Kunos devs that the "old" setting should be used for most realistic nordschleife lap times.
Actually no. Nordschleife have constant track days, so the asphalt is very grip.

I think he knows what he is talking about to achieve the most realistic nordschleife conditions in his own game... 😉 the man has also seems to have a lot of real life nordschleife experience. What are your credentials, lol?

I'm on PS5 and I usually play Gran Turismo Sport. I'm curious about Assetto Corsa and its driving physics. Is the game worth buying on PS5, even though it doesn't have the community mods of the PC version? I have no interest in online racing, but I yearn for a very immersive single-player driving experience.
I think ACC has a more complex tire model than the OG AC. I've never played either version.
But also acc is muxh less mod compatibile and flexible
by the looks of it, it was 1to1 until the final stretch. this shows how outdated the aero is, and also the modded car probably didn't have a 1-1 spec recreation. but they got pretty close, also that car has carbon fiber on it, which the real one didnt have.

@@flyfin108 it is not about the looks. Its the driving in AC that is flawed. Oversteering so many times, like a rally driver would do. Real life footage doesn’t show this car behavior

Was really hoping fm8 would actually be a SIM,looks like a joke so far. I may need to get a wheel, pedal, and shifter setup and a PS5 or series x, and get ac. Possibly even try pc3.
ac without mods is not worth at all, u should get a pc if u can.
@@hayeduce I'm pretty casual. Not sure a pc is necessary but maybe if I can find a good deal. Not very good with p.c's as far as the technical shit goes.
@@remissiveslave ac is pretty fun with all of the dlc, especially the japanese car pack. if you can get it on console with a wheel settup id go for it, but pc is something easy to get into, and worth it. building a pc isnt technical at all man lol.

@@remissiveslave AC is very forgiving in terms of performance, most budget pc's will run it smoothly. I understand it's a whole lot of money, but the pc version of AC is leagues ahead in terms of content. I'm sure you'd still have a blast tho

@@Ermz Had the same issue a few months ago. I reinstalled the vc redistributables and it's running great ever since. I can't emphasize it enough! You have to try the new BTCC content. The Focus ST is the best thing I've ever driven in any sim. It's front wheel drive but it makes so much sense through the feedback! GT3 and GTE cars feel shallow in comparison.

You needed to do a review on assoluto racing vs real life ( a copy of gran turismo for mobile ) pure physics , high tuning and great cars so plz review it!

@@xRockee according to sim racing forums iracing tyre model is dreadful, but i can't speak on that as i haven't played it. ac tyre physics are better than most rivals, but they're not realistic yet
AC has always been super bouncy to me and it's kept me from really pushing hard without feeling like I'm ice skating. I think AC:C is better but it still is kind of there.
Hoping to have an AC-type game in the future with a better physics model overall, plus hopefully a more updated engine that inherently has better rendering and performance techniques that don't rely on mods.
This makes me wonder if there is ac mod that tells you the name of the next section / corner on Nordschleife as this would make things a lot more memorable and manageable.

Bare in mind in game cars don't represent the one to one physics, in assetto corsa it's a hit or miss gt7 does really well with that, I wish I can bolt a lot of downforce, but I don't want to much, I think ac and gt7 are the perfect rezablence, the confidence you get driving its amazing

Finally I get to see a "real" simulator... Honestly its obvious there trade offs when designing physics model, we dont have that much compute power yet. All these people that call GT7 a simcade... tell me what is this 4:29? That looked more simcady to me than anything I have seen in GT7. In GT7 you would have slid and, rightfully slammed into the guardrail. Also people complaining about GT7 constant tire screeching? Just because there is no sound here doesnt mean the tires are sliding its like they muffled it on purpose sometimes here. Seems to me that GT7 punishes you more for mistakes, more than normal but it teaches you to drive as proper as possible. 6:28 In GT7 you would have spinned out of control there and rightfully so but here it looked like freaking Need For Speed I have never seen a car behave that way in real life you simply cannot do maneuvers like that at that speed. You flew through some many corners at ridiculous speed... I guess this is simcade aswell?

Assetto corsa is no, feels much of a better driving simulator to play if you compare to project cars, in PC going threw the carousel it looked nothing at all like how you go threw the carousel because the any car you use in project cars handling is an a atrocious and hated the handling so much on that game bro, and it really sucks the assetto corsa of the PC had more content than the PS4 & Xbox one combined

@@peter91d it makes no sense. The time is dependent on all kinds of things and setup of the car. Much better to compare the feel.
GT7 is the most realistic, even without modding. Just imagine if you did, though (even if it's not possible).

Am i the only one who thinks that GT 7 is the best simulation out there? I also enjoy AC but in my opinion the cars tend to brake out way to easily in comparison to reality. In GT 7 i can drive fast consistently. I say this because i obviously have driven fast cars IRL and i don´t think (especially GT 3 Cars!) oversteer that fast IRL as they do in AC. What i want to say: AC isn´t a real simulator just because the cars take a lot of work to handle on track compared to other games like GT7. Would like to know if somebody feels the same and also thinks GT 7 is great as a simulation.
Both have their issues IMO. If I want to feel like I'm driving a car I'll usually drive in iRacing or ACC. But GT7 and AC are way better for content creation.

Lmaooo sorry to tell but gt7 is still a arcade game not a simulator like assetto. I could see that if you play console but assetto is so much better especially if your on PC. I think majority would agree.
Gran Turismo, the real driving simulator was more accurate in laptimes, for this track & car, with 1 second, tho u berate it for driving feel, which was only "wonky" because you messed with the suspension tune & aerodynamics, without knowing the actual tuning parameters used by porsche. Use the stock GT3 or only tune the power and it should a different, more lifelike driving experience. I see where u almost lost the tail & got some overs steer in assetto/gran corsa/turismo, as well. how then is gran turismo not a real or semi sim, when it more accurately simulates the real life performance & assetto the real sim when its less accurate. Gran Tursimo manages to be more approacheable to casual gamers and sim racers at the same time. because driving is easy & approachable, even grand ma's can drive, but at the same time hard to master & only skilled drivers can do it
