Very good video demo of the East West library and FTP. Playing was good, voiceover was good. I use Spectrasonics synths and wanted to see what all the fuss is about EW.
Your best "deal" is to subscribe to the EW Cloud product. You get these as well as ALL the rest of the EW libraries. HUGE amount of disk space required as well as a high speed internet connection to DL them all. PLUS you get any NEW libraries as they come out. AMAZING stuff.
Thanks for this video, it was exactly what I was looking for and well presented! I’m wondering if the tracking is good enough for example to be a bass guitar player for an entire gig using a normal electric guitar. So that if anything unexpected happens during the gig you could switch to an acoustic guitar instead and do an impromptu acoustic set.
@@TheBoglodite Yeah, I've tried that - also I have a Variax so can pitch it down an octave like that too. I've not been totally happy with the sound with either of those methods. It's fine to get out of a sticky situation, but I wondered if the Fishman might sound better.
Very informative video, thanks mate! Very eager to try out this unit, being a big fan of my "YouRockGuitar" MIDI guitar, but it doesn't play like a real guitar.
thanks for the review. i see you where choosing the sounds directly in the east west vst. do you know if these libraries could be used with the roland gr55 guitar pickup sending midi into the east west vst. i can't find any info on that question. their very adimate about east west and fisherman working together bla bla bla
My understanding is that the GR55 will send MIDI data out to your computer for use with this or any VST, but the Roland GR55 does a much better job triggering its own internal sounds than triggering external ones. There is more of a delay and it doesn't track as well as compared to the Fishman when using it with VSTs.
Wow. No offense, but your playing is pretty atrocious. At least put in a backing track and play with it. The way youre playing vastly diminishes how amazing this product is.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Brion. I agree with you that playing with backing tracks would make everything sound better, but I wanted to showcase the sounds out-of-the-box
He knew what l was referring to. ( Any musician would. Obviously, you're not. ) Hence the statement " no offense ." I'll let you know when your critique of my playing matters. ;)
Very good video. Wish there were videos of compositions used from this device concerning the orchestral pack.
This was done very well! Do you know if there are any updates in 2024 for this? Is it still the better synth?
Love your reviews Don, keep up the great work, big big thank you.
Thanks for the support EmiricalMind!

can only the fishmen program be used? Or another VST?

an octave pedal would probably be more effective in this case

I wonder if the legato issues with east/west are present when composing in notion for iPad /iPhone.

you can only install the EW MIDI Guitar Series if you have a Triple Play present on your computer
that voice man...
Love it or hate it, that's the only voice I got :)
voice is ok but your intonation could have some attention
Paul Post - a better mic or compression would probably help too.
@@brandon9271 Nothing wrong with the voice-over recording/production.
works on android?
Does this unit plays back multiple parts?
Yes
Cool.
Very good. But mallet instruments don't slide. All ochestral instruments have their particular ranges. So a bit of knowledge lacking on the demo.
Star Spangled Banner! Let your freak flag fly. :)
Talking way too much over the sample sounds. More blah than audio sampling. Thumbsdown.
man orquestral perc on guitar aaahahahahahahaaahhhh! brave new world, call J S Bach
Why do you talk so slow? I'm getting old listening to you..

Brion Swanson really? Atrocious? Just slept through a through of your videos and you're playing isn't exactly all that

Brion Swanson it matters just as much as yours does here
Sure it does...............;)
