I just started school and I do the circles when using 6010s I used 7018s for the first time today and did the same pattern and it turned out fine 🤷🏾♂️
First bead is narrower and maybe a little taller than the rest. Triangles are the widest. Pattern on the beads is pretty much the same across all of 'em. Try it with some 6011 and I'd bet the difference is more pronounced.
sir, whats the rationale of doing weaving? It looks to me that it gives fatter/wider coverage when Compared to just straight/no weave. But all of them result in similar "caterpilar" like forms no different from each other in the end... ?
Exactly, they all are the same and all will be structurally fixed. It comes down to ego when it comes to these different styles of welding.. stick to pattern #1 call it a day..
Would you apply the weave pattern when welding perpendicular pieces? Would like to see a video on that as I have only seen it applied to flat test pieces. Great videos!
@@-DIYPRO-I've just started welding like a week ago in a welding class for school. I've only been doing flat plates so far doing straight lines, but I don't know if I should make doing the patterns a habit or if they're unnecessary?
Wow your channel is a real gem! I love that you use a marker to demonstrate patterns
Right on!

Right on, good luck!
Is circle pattern good?, if then i wanna adopt it cuz my welds aren't enough for my tastes, i want them to better and stronger
@@DioStandsStillstrongest say to run a 7018 is a stringer
@@lucasfromdavalley ha tryna trick me huh? People told me that 7018 has an arc that is harder to control💀
@@lucasfromdavalley but fr tho, is circular weaving good enough, i really like that.
God bless everyone have a great day same for everyone's families and loved ones.
Right on!
Aw, that is nice. Bless your heart
Thanks may God bless you and your family also
God be with yours as well

I figure i'd try 6013 and 6011 next.
@@-DIYPRO-dont do a weave with 6013 because of 6013 thick slag doing a weave will cause slag to get in the weld
i ont to try welding with a marker thanks for the idea by the way an old soviet union era welder damn i feel old

I prefer doing the whip and pause on 7018 and my fav is 7024 jet rod

Depending on the thickness, yes. Thinner pieces won't need it but I'd say 3/16" and above you'll want to tie in to both pieces.
My school teaching us whip n pause with 6010 but the drag with 7018 my thing is with 7018 how long do you let it sit before dragging
damn dude those are clean asf im just learning welding and thats my dream to be able to do that
So you didn't answer the question at the end?
To me, all the weld lines looked pretty good, but I'm an amateur.
People have their preference. Really it depends on the position. For this flat plate it doesn't matter.

Ah, so they were ALL GOOD welds, then.. glad my eyes didn't fail me.
Thank you very much for the reply!
@@MRSketch09 I'll say they were good... just don't test them, lol!

Do we get a cut and etch next time!
Next time.....maybe!
Nice..!!
Thanks ✌️
Nope it doesn't seem to matter at all... thoughts?
On my first slag peel i did little circles
Satisfying, isn't it!
@@-DIYPRO- For sure!
So which one is the better technique to use over all , or does it really matter? Im a beginner & wanting to learn all i can! Thanks for sharing🙂👍🏻
1 and 2
Those are definitely the easiest.
Huh! I always thought that hammer was to beat the shit out of your welds.
Lets demonstrate 3 techniques, same rod angle... some used a whole 7018 rod, some used half. Id say clickbait if it werent a reel
Elosta...
Kinda is his style.
