@@sebastiancortes9512 Yes. Horseradish and wasabi cures the disease. The Baudelaire children discover a tree that produces spicy apples that alleviates their symptoms. It turns out their parents cultivated it by cross-breeding an apple tree with a horseradish plant before they died prior to the events of the first book. They tried convincing everyone else on the island to take the apples, but Count Olaf (the main villain of the series) has turned the islanders against them. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed despite being extremely conniving and executing numerous murders across the series in his attempts to get his hands on the Baudelaire fortune, and doesn't believe them when they try to tell everyone that the apples cure the disease. They leave on a boat while the Baudelaires stay behind with Kat, either spreading it to the rest of the world or hopefully dying from the fungus before they can reach land. This is how the thirteenth and final book, fittingly titled "The End" concludes, with Kat dying during childbirth and the Baudelaire children remaining on the island, with Violet now an adult, Klaus in his late teens, Sunny exiting toddlerhood and resigning themselves to live out the rest of their lives peacefully living on the island and raising Kat's baby for her. edit: in the shed, not on the shed.

For anyone wondering: The series he describes, in the beginning, is called A Series Of Unfortunate Events. (not "the", "a".) I've had all thirteen books since I was ten, and I highly recommend it. :) (It is not a happy story. It's dark and depressing all the way through, but they're good.)
This pathogen sucks big time. It spreads so god damned slow, it's laughable. Imagine losing this about a million times in brutal and finally managing to complete it in like 90% cure progress.
Just be more aggressive at the beginning. Alternate between spore bursts and symptoms (for severity). If you worry about having no spore bursts left, keep one of the big ones. Take transmission for water and air, get up your resistances and watch your fungus just run wild. Then kill with necrosis and total organ failure.
This plague is every frustrating mechanic in this game with little to none of its redeeming features, spore bursts are needed to really infect in a timely manner, yet all it really ends up doing is being a risky low-reward investment that just inflates the cost of other thing. If you play it slow and steady (how the disease presents itself to be played) you don't earn points in large enough quantities to really feel like you can do anything since fungus seems to earn less DNA and earns it slower than other plagues, but if you try to counter this by moving fast, you don't spread quickly enough to outpace the cure or if you do, that one country just holds out long enough for you to kill too quickly. I love the idea behind this plague, but this is a brick-wall in the player's progress for honestly no reason

It's 2021 & I've been subscribed for a few days but had I ever seen this video/you mention A Series of Unfortunate Events I would have subscribed instantly ++
you should try to do the things without the modifiers so we can follow exactly
You need the modifiers, just work on playing until you’ve unlocked the ones you need
I just played this game for the first time yesterday. Fungus was my favorite of the first 3. I played it on normal, so dunno if things change on higher difficulties but, I devolved symptoms anytime they showed up. With no symptoms, no one ever discovered it before I infected the whole world. Bided my time, saved my points, and when everyone was infected, I exploded death symptoms. Took over 4k days but got 3 stars.
