@gapple * In most normal scenarios, Greenland is very VERY hard to infect. Even when you finally do get your virus over there it takes ages to spread to the entire populace. In this scenario, it was consumed almost instantly. So David is saying maybe the devs just did that to take the piss out of the game's usual programming.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in this scenario what you want is to get a lot of early game plausibility, so when people hear about the fake news they are more inclined to believe it, rather than becoming informed, and then ramp up vitality so loads of people hear about, instead of trying to ramp up vitality and gain plausibility later.

I am have a actual degree in Welding Engineering Technology, which means I am an actual expert in this subject. The World Trade Center collapse was not faked, it was taken down by terrorists. When heated to high enough temperatures steel will become soft and malleable before it melts. This is called the forging temperature of the metal as in the temperature range blacksmiths use to shape and work with metal. The steel beams don't need to melt they just need to become soft enough to give way on one of the floors. Then when those steel beams give way you have a situation where otherwise uncompromised steel beams are now overloaded and fail and the floors below the fire fail because instead of being under a normal semi-static load they are suddenly under the impact load of an entire building falling on them. Think of placing a 5 lbs weight on a glass table vs dropping the 5 lbs weight on a glass table. Never forget the burning temperature of wood and many other substances that would have been present in the building is much hotter than the burning temperature of jet fuel. Ancient civilizations fueled forges with wood or coal, they were not doing it with jet fuel.

One thing ive found to work is just focus entirely on plausability as much as you can before going for virality. Tons of virality but little plausability means a lot of people will be getting tricked sure, but a fuckton more will get informed. If you focus on plausability however, before long your tricked people will start to outnumber the informed, and this only gets better as you focus harder on your plausability
So many new mechanics added to the game engine...none of which are available in the scenario creator. It's a shame, that allied-neutral-enemy dynamic looks like it would be a lot of fun to play with :(

I agree. I think the problem with fact checkers is they tend to try to sum everything up in a simple answer when the actual facts are far more complicated. And often, they actually distract from the question itself or get hung up on a single word in the question. For example: Opinion 1: Islam is peace. Opinion 2: Islam is violent. Fact checker: According to polls, an overwhelming majority of Muslims say they want peace. Facts: Read the Quran, learn about Mohammed's career as a "prophet", observe the behaviour of your local Muslim neighbors but also the general state of things in predomionantly Muslim countries, and you will find your own facts.
Ndemic should make it so that when making a custom scenarios you can change the names and description of the bars and victory and defeat messages, to make more it customizational.

It's scary how accurate this is... Misinformation isn't hard to spread, and if it's said over and over again, people will believe it. That's the tactic used in-game and IRL. It makes it really hard to know what's even real if you don't live in or have someone you know in the place you want to fact-check.
This actually works different. Virslity is how much the news arrives to people, the plausibility is the chance of decieving someone and community is within that chance you get support for your campaign.

Misinformation isn't hard to spread, and if it's said over and over again, people will believe it. That's the tactic used in-game and IRL.
It makes it really hard to know what's even real if you don't live in or have someone you know in the place you want to fact-check.

This actually works different. Virslity is how much the news arrives to people, the plausibility is the chance of decieving someone and community is within that chance you get support for your campaign.
