How can I prevent my device from updating to this bios? I greatly prefer the quieter fans
@@cloudGGsIf you have an old bios 338 file, you can go back to the 338 bios. However, Asus has just removed the old 338 file from the bios download page not to go back. Which means they don't want us to go back to the old failed bios.
@@cloudGGs You can't, it will force after some time even if you rolled back the driver in device manager. Windows forced me to update, not ASUS which is weird.
Wait a minute! BIOS 338 they turned down the fan 5 DBA and now with 339 they turn it back up?

What are you talking about???? When plugged in running turbo mode your device was being forced to run at 95° that's too hot. Especially for a handheld, not to mention you could only play for 10 minutes before it stops charging.
At this point they are testing out what works on your device and sending you to rma, it favours them either way and you are at a loss
a fine trade off for lower temps, it could prolonged device life, lower temps = longer device life span
For me noise level is the most important factor. I will stay at 338...

Seems like I will like this so much better. Don't have a problem with the load fan if my device can still charge while playing.

Cant complain bout the fans if im able to play my rog for longer then 15 mins when plugged in on turbo without overheating like crazy. I wont update out of this bios probably ever.
I got hearing problems so never heard any noise from rog ally and legion go but my kids and wife they tell me that they hear the fans. lol so can’t say if there is any difference for me.

I don't know if it's the hot weather here in Los Angeles California or my ally is burning up with this 339 update. It literally smells like it's burning up. Lol

Before update I was never bothered by the fans but after update I did hear the fans after a while in turbo mode. I had to turn on the sound to around 80 to cover the noise
bios 337 was loud too. bios 338 they acidentally disabled automatic heavy fan schedual.
this is why i didn't buy the og ally,
high temps,
high noise,
loose analog sticks
and things like microsd and who knows what else that will prematurely fail.
Yup posted the update on Reddit the moment I saw it lol wow lots of people really don’t want to update I did and don’t care about the loud noise have headphones one or the tv speakers high
Can you share Fan rpms at Idle,15w,30w with 339.
The average rpm after the boost phase that is.MyAsus app gives a more detailed rpm count than armory crate..just fyi
P.S-On Bios 337.. fan speeds(both) idle at 2.8k with temps at 35-36°c(System idle, No app running)
At 15w fan1 ranges from 3.7k to 4,4.2k with temps 65-67°c
Dont use 30w.
Ofcourse slight variations will occur depending on ambient temps
It was probably updating something in the background when the fan spooled up during the crab game.
Quite possibly Lucien, although the fans kept coming on AND off every few minutes alternating… would love to know how other viewers are finding the Manual Mode on this new BIOS 339… 👀

My battery gets too hot and i honestly can't really have turbo mode on anymore. i would have to tweak the power mode to get 20w from the device... but thats about it. Also im having issues with AMD software not working properly...🤦🏾

I will probably still keep my BIOS 337, it is working fine, I'll wait for more info and reactions on this new BIOS update.
On my ASUs ROG ally fc 24 is so laggy I can’t even play it what’s your setting please
I update from 337 to 339 the temperature increases about 6 to 8 degrees and the fans louder its there a way to roll back to 337 again ??
So.....when I told everyone to avoid the 338 BIOS and was ridiculed and told that I did not know what I was taking about....and then Pete made a video where he basically proved I was right.....then this new BIOS reverts all those changes back to the 337 settings....again proving me right again.

I have a problem after the update when I play games on battery mode whether it is 25W or less the gams is freezing

Yup manual kicks fans in and out 🤷 I guess Asus are trying to err on the side of caution but there’s a lot of fan yo-yo’ing going on 😂🙈

Nothing Asus do ever coincides with what they say. Its no wonder people are starting to not trust in this company, on one hand they swear that heat wasn't an issue for the ally and its SD card and them moving the position of the SD card on Ally X was nothing to do with the heat but on the other hand they keep updating the device forcing the fans to work harder and be louder and thus use even more battery. Thanks Asus. I just wish they built the device good enough to hand back control to the user so we can tweak it to save battery but still keep it cool but the capability of the cooling in the device is so bad they have to constantly force it to work harder and use more of our battery. Im ok with there being a minimum fan usage when temps get high, thats common sense but it seems to just be getting worse and worse.
