    Im an amateur audiophile and I work at a VW dealership and I love our cars but both the base 4 speaker and Beats upgraded system are horrible, honestly. I honestly feel like they just deleted tweeters from a 6 speaker setup because it sounds like the tweeter range is just MIA. Treble all the way up and it still sounds muffled.
    The beats system has a harsh metallic sound and terrible hollow bass that makes the door panels rattle just turned up slightly. The only Jetta system i can tolerate is the GLI S system because it still has tweeters and no sub but sounds better than the aforementioned!

    On a 2021 jetta I have an lc7i with front and rear speakers tapped to keep the fader functional. Unfortunately one set of speakers that were tapped don’t appear to be getting the full signal and it sounds almost muffled or lacking. I just kept one signal on and disabled the fader on the kicker amp. I checked all channels of the amp and of the lc7i. The issue was recreated when swapping the speaker wire taps into the lc7i.
    Is there a bad or treble attenuation to the rear speakers?

      Did u try taking the top off of the lc7i and move the channel 2 "jumper switch" to "sum"? This way if there is bass/treb roll off on Chan 2 yet Chan 1 is good, this will equal Chan 2 out by summing the full signal to Chan 2. Not saying that's the answer but worth a shot

  • @christopherstewart9681
    @christopherstewart9681 3 роки тому +14

    Why in the world would you run the high level speaker wires tap ins all the way back to the rear of the radio? That is absolutely ridiculous and defeats the purpose of this high to low level input converter! First of all, he is adding a subwoofer amp so you would want the lowest possible frequency going in as most of the newer audio systems are set up so they don't have lower signals going to the main speakers, the lower signals only feed in to the rear channels or into a dedicated sub channel. 97% of the factory systems have three subs in the rear seat or trunk area. These liner output converters are made to make it easier and more convenient to add subs and amps to factory systems. If your factory system has a subwoofer then you would want to tap into those wires before or after the amp depending on how many watts is coming out of the factory amp. This guy ran an extra 20 feet of wire and caused at least an extra 2 hours of work taking that dashboard apart and in the end will hurt the sound on 2 levels, A) the extra length of wire gives it more opportunity to pick up unwanted distortion and B) may not have the low frequencies needed for the sub. Every single one of these we install gets trapped directly into the factory subwoofer wires or in to the rear deck speaker wires. the only time I tap in to speaker wires in the front of the car is if I'm adding a multi-channel amp and upgrading the other speakers.

    Does the LC2i provide more power for the front and rear speakers the way you have it hooked up in this video? In this video you have just a subwoofer hooked up, but you tapped into the front and rear speakers behind the radio? It seems like you should’ve tapped into the subwoofer output. Can you also tap into the rear right and left speaker door factory wires to the LC2i, And then power your subwoofer? Also, by adding a amplifier to the LC2i from the front and rear speakers and then by adding an amp, you’re increasing the power to the front and rear speakers?

    • @wesleymiller3467
      @wesleymiller3467 3 місяці тому +1

      No, there’s a harness already ran from the radio to the subwoofer, you just have to look at the wiring diagram to figure what is what and go from there, but if you’re using an amp set up you still have to run power wire from the battery and ground it somewhere. Having a factory sub makes the process easier because of that harness, you can just tap in to that. Unfortunately i have to do all of this in my 21 gti🗿

      Gotta also bring a remote power from the radio, so the amp turns on when the radio turns on. Or you could just do what i did connect the power from the battery to both the remote power and the normal power. Then intall a switch somewhere and remember to turn the switch of when its not running because it will drain your battery.

      @@HugeGamma I hope so. This is from their web site. "The LC2i requires a +12V in order to run properly. For best results, the +12V should be provided by the battery via direct line or from a power distro-block. The preferred wire gauge for the connection is a 18 AWG, and a 1A fuse is recommended."

      There isn't any switched power behind the factory radio, so your next source would be either a power socked that is on switched power, or tapping into the fuse box, or use a line out converter that generates a remote turn on for you like this one: amzn.to/2T8oZqz

    can't you just use rear speakers to tap in?

    • @rxtuninginc8444
      @rxtuninginc8444 3 роки тому +1

      I tap into the rear speakers in the rear of the car when there is no factory amp. It doesn't matter if there's no factory amp if you're on one end of the wire or the other. On this particular car with that ridiculous dash removal process, the time it takes and the risk of breaking any of those stupid clips its not worth it. Tap into speakers in rear of car and much less work.
      On cars with a factory amp is a different story, in that case you want to hook directly behind the radio so that you are grabbing signal BEFORE it passes into the factory amp. On base models I avoid this headache all the time.

    • @rxtuninginc8444
      @rxtuninginc8444 3 роки тому +1

      Especially when the rear speakers are on the parcel shelf right below the rear window. Gives a good place to mount the LOC and nice, neat short wires. Also using wire T Taps are the easiest and fastest way without disturbing the factory wire much at all. It's also easily removable later. I never strip back the wire, make a hole in middle (risking breaking some strands) and wrap it around. I can get all 4 wire T Taps on in 30 seconds flat.

      It helps with bass rolloff, and if you have a factory amplified sound system (like the fender audio), it can take a higher power amplified signal input than most line out converters. If you don't have a factory amp, and don't care for any signal correction, any line out converter can do.
