Just made this for the wife last night. It was amazing just like the restaurants. Thanks for the recipe Manu will be keeping this. Big fan as well.
I have been making this recipe for a few years and I still find myself watching this video every so often. I like to make it with chicken stock and serve the sauce on the side to pour it over top of the steak and whatever side I make.
Just made this again for the family - best peppercorn sauce I’ve tasted. Combined with medium rare fillet steaks, frites, green beans and carrots - you have one of the best homemade meals! Have been using this recipe for years and will continue to for many more! Merci Manu! 👨🍳👌
I cooked this last night for my partner and I and it was quite possibly the most delicious thing I've ever cooked. Thank you!
gayyyyyyyyyyy
Plus who gives a shit you probably can't get laid anyways
Sick bastard

Your business partner? Cus if you’re calling your wife, or your husband, or your girlfriend or boyfriend your “partner “ you’re lame
Got a group of 45 tomorrow with 5 whole tenderloins on the grill. just finished a big batch. It will be the highlight of the meal! 3rd time making it.
It is finished!
I followed this recipe and the sauce was delicious! My wife was very happy and asked why I didn’t make more! 10/10!!
I cooked this for my girlfriend and she hated it. She's vegetarian btw. lol. Kidding aside, I use this recipe when I have family over and they love it every single time! Thanks, chef!
Made this for my wife and kids tonight! It was amazing! Thank you so much!!! I’ve never made a sauce before!
Yeah I was thinking the same one day , must be epic as . I had them at a French restaurant with my rich uncle when I was a teen . I was like god dam . Still hard to beat fresh home kill lamb . We had a farm when I was a kid here in NZ . The food was so amazing compared most the crap I eat now . Dad would cook all the organs and say try this , it would be brains heart and kidneys , oddly enough wasn't too bad lol . He was no Chef tho , I'd smoke him any day of the week in the kitchen if he was still alive .
I didn't have brandy so I used whiskey which taste the same. It came out delicious, thank you chef! My husband and I ate the big 72 hours sous vide super tender chuck steak. Chuck steak ($15) is a very cheap tough meat but after I sous vide it, it tasted like an expensive $50 steak!
Hey there, im 14 and i used this recipe to make dinner for my family... thank you so much... and they absolutely loved it aswell
Wonderful looking! Will try my hand at this tonight!
Fantastic video of the cooking of this steak and sauce.
I’ve made this recipe about a dozen time and everyone in the family loves it!!
Just cooked this recipe. I used Maggie stock cubes instead of beef stock and red wine instead of brandy. It was amazing.
My father was a chief and good one, I remember him telling me a story about his friend John who was also a chief knew the game very well.
John got a Job in a Hotel in England when he was in his 40s and one day a man came to the kitchen door to thank John the lovely meal that they had and during the conversation the guy asked him out of the blue, he said, what are you worth here chief ? John was a bit surprised but he didn’t show it, and he answered him saying I’m worth a £100 a day and the guy looked at him surprised 😯 then he continued and finished the sentence saying, but I’m only getting 60 😂. Good stuff Manu! And brings back very good memories!
Thank you so much! The sauce came out truly fantastic. Although I did get stuck at the cracked pepper bit. I had no idea you couldn't buy it. I ended up twating some pepper corns with my DIY hammer. But all ended well and easily on par with any decent restaurant I've been to. Cheers again!
Wife? I'm making this for myself 😁
right handed
Haha redpilled.
Hahahah
My go to sauce when we have steak and always this recipe. Thanks very much.
That loooks so good. Literally salivating over here.
Just tried it. Thanks. it was lovely
I got this right!
I could just watch Manu cook all day long. His voice is so soothing, hehe. Plus, he inspires me to actually try out the recipes :)
I’ve made this sauce and it was the best pepper sauce ever!
Happy 🎉New Year Manu 🎉 that was the best pepper sauce I have seen and I'm doing it now for my steak ! Thank you 🥂🥂
this is just the level you need to achieve to cook at and you can be happy for the rest of your life
i have watched this video several times. i watch others and have never made this. you Manu Feildel have captured my imagination. i want your peppercorn sauce. but since i am american i will use bourbon. i love you, you beautiful French Man!
Looks amazing
Have made it at least 10 times. Always delicious.
Excellent recipe, as a French Canadian decedent (technically not true French but you get the idea), this brings me very close to home (also the immense amount of butter doesn't hurt)
Real chef eats right from the pan! Plating's definetely not necessary.. 😍
This was delicious thank you
Have never seen Manu on youtube, was looking for a pepper sauce, I really miss MKR, hope there will be a new series again soon to watch in the UK.
I have had few in auzy years ago when I was young , was so amazing .
so amazing video, makes me want to try to make the steak!
Really good.
The French restaurant about 10 miles from me made this for take-out during Covid-19 - it was absolutely delicious even after the return 10 miles to my home.
I am going to give this a try - I'm 'the wife' - and my beloved would not have eaten this anyway.
that looked so yummy
Awesome. It’s an absolute winner
Excellent chef very good food looks amazing

Just had this sauce with haggis, neeps and tatties. Absolutely delicious thank you!

We can trust his recipe. He had the dish cloth on his shoulder. The true sign of master chiefs.
yes, i would fire him directly. incredible unhygienic. I guess he's an amature chef
i had towel with XXL size on my shoulder as well.. so i am true sign of advanced master chiefs. lol

Did you try it?
My son came to visit and make this for us and husband and I love it . I ask my son to give me the recipe but instead he sent me this and as I am writing my comment I'm cooking that recipe at the same time and I taste it ? Yummm!! I feel like I'm a good cook ( which I'm not !! Shame on me )
Great video! My favourite sauce with steak, and now I have the perfect recipe, thank you!
lovely! Grilling a steak was something ive been wanting to learn for ages and im happy and proud that I was finally able to do so!...the only thing i wanted to learn to complete that recipe was how to make a nice steak sauce! Loved the way you made it and im looking forward to trying this myself!
This sauce is amazing. I like to add a few chopped mushrooms in with the shallots.
I made this today as a birthday treat, wow oh wow, dead easy and better than anything I've had in a restaurant (and I'm in France)
Merci chef et joyeux Noël 🎄
Thanks that's a simple too the point
I've made this recipe twice now. My parents are super impressed ;)
Amazing video
That was awesome.
Love your show l am from jamaica
I love that kind of recipes, I will take off brandy and add some ginger, a little bit of mustard and soy sauce, some oregano in final as I love herbs with meat. Thanks for sharing
In order words - a completely different sauce.
total different recipe
I've made this twice sofar. One of the all time great recipes on the Internet!
Beautiful simple explained video. Thank you so much!
I have tried this with most cuts and I've got to say even the cheapest blade steak comes out nice. Just depends on how much you want to chew and how much money there is for lunch ;)
Yummy! Making it right now!
Ayat Fatima Naqvi Nooooo you cant.. There's Brandy in it tsk tsk tsk hahhh
Zeuu Gaddrix i love this recipe :) obviously had to use grape juice as a sub @--)-)-
+Ayat Fatima Naqvi The alcohol would have burned off. You wanted either wine or brandy for the flavor, not the alcohol content.
Love the attitude 👌
cool video. not quite what i was looking for, but good nonetheless. i'm trying to find a way to make a good steak sauce on the stove without using the fond from the steaks (because i'm grilling them). so, basically, i'm going to pan fry steak scraps in order to get fond to make a sauce. but from where do i get scraps when i'm grilling filet mignon? ah the pain of life
I had the same issue. I use New York Strip, trim the fat to leave the main cut. Use those scraps to make the sauce. OR!! You can buy cheap thin steak, pulse it in a food processor until course and use that to build the base. It's what I call, "Sacrificing meat."
I normally just ask the Butcher to give me some extra bits and use them.
It's on my to do list to find my local butcher shop. Thanks for the tip!
You can get scraps from your butcher
Love it. Thanks Manu (we will use green peppercorns) love it
So yummy!
OMG ... what a simple and working recipe.. wife did loved...
Why didn't I think of eating in cast iron pan before??? stays hot for longer...LOL
The heck with the wife, I ate both steaks myself. :)
That’s my boy!
So suave!!
Merci Beaucoup
Great, Manu. I have your recipe book. Lovely to have someone with a sort of Australian accent. Except, I do love foodwise too.
Bloody marvellous!
what kind of oil do you add ? do you really heat up the pan ? I used olive oil, and when I added the steak the kitchen filled with smoke. Steak was a little charred when I flipped it. Sauce tasted great
I followed your awesome recipe, but I added chanterelle mushrooms, gerkins and Dijon mustard.
AU MON DIEU! C'EST DÉLICIEUX!!
Is it possible to just add the stock and cream at the same time for reduction? Or the cream can't stay in that long?
I make an incredible Steak Au Poivre and there are so many problems with this recipes/technique I can't even mention them all.
To name a few, what were those cheap thin steaks. I think tenderloin or NY strip is the cut best for Steak Au Poivre. And why is he not using a cast iron pan. His steaks curled up because of his choice of cut, pan, and pan temperature. Also, you can't just use any brandy, you need to use a quality Cognac. And most importantly, you completely coat the steak in peppercorns before you cook it. That's SOP 101.
Anyone looking for a good recipe to use as a start can search Food Network for Alton Browns version. I made his version for my first SOP attempts and it was top notch.
Terrific, nice , yumy,yumy.
Made it today and everyone in the house loved it 👌👌👌 10/10
I've probably watched this video 10 times 🔥
My hubby loved it!
Awesome!!!! Thank you
