Great review , I can relate to going to the freezer in my laundry room and end up staring at my R/C collection, it’s part of the reason we get into this hobby
I'll stick with my stock x-maxx, it already weighs enough. I'll upgrade it as parts break, if they do, time will tell. I can't believe it still doesn't have the roof skid.

Good tip for the inserts on the motormount
Ultimate is totally worth it if you were going to do most of those upgrades anyway. I've had my Christmas Outcast 8S on the bench for weeks as I'm slowly getting all my aluminum aftermarket parts on it. I could just do a marathon build session and be done with it, but I have enjoyed having the machine on the workbench just to look at as eye candy. Knowing full well that it will look like a masterpiece when done, suitable as a shelf queen, but instead get taken out Beat-Your-Truck style. It will only look this good once so I'm enjoying that through this slow build process. I've got other trucks to run and other hobbies and passions to attend to at the same time. It is a shame that the RTR electronics on the XMAXX isn't a keeper, particularly something as significant as the ESC. I mean, yeah I'm used to replacing servos, but it would kill me if replacing the power system was effectively mandatory for a reasonable level of performance.

I have to say she is a beauty. They do make those aluminum upgrades look so damn good with the silver edge.
Fantastic video, you touched on so many great points 💯 I built a Xmaxx & XRT back in October 23 till Early December 23...The parts are quality no doubt, you like parts for looks as much as i do, so install the stainless screw kit from Traxxas 7889X, they look amazing and actually do have purpose and function...I did buy a green Xmaxx Ultimate as soon as it was released, i have blue, red and green parts, each on there own truck, the red are my favorite.. Traxxas does build quality trucks and parts, The factory support is also amazing if its needed...I could go on for hours you posted an awesome video!!! great work 💯

Plastic shock caps is exactly how traxxas rigs things for hopup money. I run my Talion HARD and the shocks have never needed anything

Hella expensive but always a good looking dominant truck on the planet LoL 🤣. I definitely diggin all the alloys. Some people think they're unnecessary but they are awesome whenever you go extreme. Mine is fully modded and it's holding killer. Awesome unboxing brother

I have a sledge(stock esc) and i noticed right away that it accelerated way faster than the xrt. I did get the ultimate because like you i compared the cost of parts it came with. If i got a max6 where do you get the proper connectors to use traxxas 4s batteries?

I love that stand. I’m definitely getting one of those stands good video Brother I got the green one 😎💯. All those anodized parts are new with the beveled edge. I think it’s got a weird name like Hyun or something the edge but I love my green one dude is sweet. I’m glad somebody did a cool video on us. I’m definitely getting one of those stands
I bought a shelf queen xmaxx 8s (with rpm hubs/2 lipos) off market place for $500 😂 Its a fun truck but there is noooo way I'd pay what they want for these things new. My esc, servo, pinion gear, and stock tires didnt last 2 weeks...
Am I better to get this or a losi five 2.0 there basically same price in the uk
Check end points on steering. Mine on both sides got scratch marks, that shiny blue got marks now lol

I have run the 8s and many other traxxas speed controls and never had an issue. Change the plugs and run it. Caught a hobby wing on fire though

These new X Maxx trucks are just clean and unscatched aluminum anodizing. At least when women buy jewelry it doesn't get scratched and look like crap a few weeks later lol.
I like my X Maxx I just don't fall for the whole "new squeaky clean rc look/smell" phenomenon that has been separating consumers from their wallets for decades. I keep my cars clean and actually have a separate display body for most of them, that way I can Simple Green/WD40 the plastics and don't have to look at 1k+ of my money with a destroyed piece of plastic cloaking it all as a "body."

Are you looking for a buggy specifically? Budget? I love my granite for those days i don't want to pull out my outcast 8s. But i'm more of a jump and flips basher if that's the way you roll.
If not, i think the big rock 3s is a good all-arounder. Plus, it does pretty well on 4s once you upgrade the diffs.
Personally, I think I'd rather buy a beat x Maxx and build from the ground up. In the us one can find used x Maxx for 350$ to 450$

Everyone always says the escs are bad and can never give a reason. And every time im out with someone with an after market esc my stock traxxas one always performs exactly the same lol. So many people are so brainwashed by advertising and youtube that they need a new esc for no reason, waste of money
Some R/C's are obviously good value for money and don't need any justification. I don't blame anyone for wanting the best version of something, but there's a reason every conversation about this truck turns into a math equation.
That's good it turns into a math equation then everyone will know exactly how much money they saved...Now in Canada it's a different story and I'm not talking about them in any way, but in the USA totally awesome trucks at a great price!!!!

Canadian prices are funny, so after converting currency $2100 is $1560usd that’s the same here, roughly. Still an overpriced roller. Buddy got one and isn’t impressed. Insane, to spend that much and have it be the start of the build. For what you get and what you end up with, it would be nice to see a heads up running comparison when you’re done to see if the extra money was worth it.
My first real car in '84 cost less than that 😬
No heavy duty arms on the ultimate. Traxxas adds a bunch of extra weight and don't add the one OEM part that would make the vehicle better at handling the weight. That and no roof skid plate. Once I saw that I knew it was a joke. Both of those should come stock on all xmaxx's. They also just came out with a brand new servo for the xmaxx, so now the normal xmaxx is 2 servos removed from their best product, and the ultimate's servo was made obsolete just after going on sale. Traxxas doesn't have an inkling of respect for their customers lol.

I will never buy an ultimate version from Traxxas. Our hobby ist called model construction, so I will install the parts for myself and there are better aluminium parts available on the market then Traxxas.
It os also called ready to run, meaning there are some of us that prefer what we prefer. There is room for.eveeyokes tastes in the hobby. I will never understand why anyone has issues with what other people choose to do with their own time and money. Not your thing? Don't buy it. YOUR preferences doesn't damper anyone else's fortunately
