      Thanks will. Yeah I love it here. Everyone is friendly and helpful. And planners actually respect the drivers. Chalk and cheese with Stobarts unfortunately for them.

    Great vlog mate. Yeah, I was a shop lad for Co-op in the mid 70's, we had to pull off the 'cages' off the taillift etc. Absoloutly no change there. I believe it's harder to reverse stumpy tlrs, cos they react so quick? How are you adapting?

    • @TheRunningTrucker
      @TheRunningTrucker  6 місяців тому

      Oh yeah, normal trailers are 13 metres. And the smallest is 8 metres. And yeah. I was expecting it. But it’s ridiculous how quickly they react. Have to really take your time or you will end up 90 degrees to it within a few seconds.
      Plus the Renault truck steering is super light. You can turn it with one finger. Make my car feel sluggish.
      Main thing is to take my time. And on a few occasions. Get out and look. It really helps where I should be .

      It’s not that tight around there. But maybe that’s a rule for any deliveries throughout the day. I was there at 6am, just the odd taxi and other delivery vehicles.

    Oooh i bet you'll do my local Tesco eventually in Wardley, Swinton.. That's a right bitch it looks like for a truck. So tight reversing from a main road into a tiny car park, I see the XPO trucks there all the time

    • @TheRunningTrucker
      @TheRunningTrucker  6 місяців тому +1

      Jesus. I’ve just seen it on google maps. There’s actually a truck in there on the map. With my shifts. Any express are usually first thing in the morning so not too busy.
      Let me know if you see me. I work Tuesday-Saturday.
      If I notice it my run, I’ll try and record it.

    Happy you like your new job. Just a quick one when unloading leaving cages at the back then going for a other one when the tailgate is down we have driver at my workplace do this while you are at the front the cages my roll away and fall off. What l do is put a strap across the back and it it moves will not fall off coz you will not have time to stop it being at the front keep safe drive safe mate good to watch you look forward to more 👍🏻🙂

    • @TheRunningTrucker
      @TheRunningTrucker  6 місяців тому

      Great idea on the steep inclines. I always turn the cages on a 45 degree angle. Totally agree. You need to be careful doing that. . And thanks for the kind words. Really enjoying it.

    Sorry Andy but you're just not doing this tesco stuff right, this is how a proper Tesco driver does it - pull into the store put it on break, after a 15 minute break, complete the reverse manoeuvre, then put it on break for a further 30 minutes. Once 30 minute break is over, tip the load but before loading the RSU put it on break for another 15 minutes. Then when the 15 minutes is up, load the RSU, then put it on break for another 30 minutes. Drive to the RSU centre but stop outside and have a 45 minute break, then back it on to a bay at the RSU centre and put it on break for a further 15 minutes once that break is over then get out and unload the RSU. Once the RSU is unloaded and your trailer is full of empty cages, pull off the bay and park outside the RSU centre have another 45 minute break, once this is up drive back to the RDC and drop your trailer and once you've dropped your trailer have another 15 minute break before going to hand your paperwork in. Congratulations now you have completed a shift like a proper Tesco driver ;)

      @@TheRunningTrucker You know it buddy, honestly when I was doing Tesco's working at Maritime, I was getting through two sometimes three trailers in a shift whereas the Tesco lads were 1 and done lol.

    I also am a Tesco driver, based in a different part of the country. A lot of Expresses can be a real ball ache. Got to have eyes in the back of your head, as cars appear from nowhere. Great video and good luck in your new job 👍🏻

      Yeah. Usually an EXTRA store first. Then by the time I drop the cardboard returns off at the recycling centre. My next run could be another EXTRA/SUPERSTORE or a multi drop for EXPRESS stores, as they open around 6am-7am

  • @alexboffey2551
    @alexboffey2551 6 місяців тому

    Express not extras.
