With regards to the piece that wasn't assembled on the Tacoma, if you are going to glue it on one day, I'd recommend using Elmer's glue. The regular white one. Easy to work with, easy to clean, not permanent, and doesn't ruin the paint. I use it for attaching the side mirrors on certain Tomica Limited Vintage models too.
I didn't realise GCD did anything other than car transporters/haulers. These are seriously impressive. Like that the wheels actually turn and the wipers are separate pieces. These look on par in quality with TLVs for anything beyond pure JDM, minus the super premium prices TLVs fetch. Very, very nice.
For extra information about GCD + Toyota + Diecasttalk.... Diecasttalk owner knew someone higher up @ Toyota corporate, he brokered a licensing deal for GCD with the little bonus of having GCD make diecasttalk exclusive models, and that they be the first release of the new casting, so once diecasttalk releases a new casting exclusive from GCD, only after that one is released does GCD release all of its own variations of the casting.
You should also try KengFai, they go once step above GCD and provide working coil suspension on their SUV and truck models. Both are equally detailed but the I found the KengFai to be a bit better in some areas of detailing. The title of the video should be "We got a microfiber cloth! - Ft. GCD models."

UPDATE: I just checked these out on eBay and now I know why they’re so detailed - they run a lot higher than $20-30! The cheapest Hilux is about $75. Tacomas a little less but still out of the normal price range. Would pick up a couple of cheaper models to add to the collection but not much more than that.
You know I love GCD and have been collecting them for a few years. Pros for me are: Price, quality and detail are all top notch. Only negatives for me are the very small box window when in the packaging makes it so tough to see the car clearly as you noted and I do not like the fact the cars aren’t attached to the base in any way. Back when I used to display cars in their original acrylic boxes I was frustrated that the cars would move around quite easily. Of course at that time I didn’t know yet about Ticky Tacky which would have been perfect to fix the problem. I recently picked up 1 of the new 4 Runners for my Toyota Buddy and when I saw how awesome it was I ordered a red 1 for me that is buried somewhere in that stack of boxes.😂
Very cool brand. The models are really detailed. I could care less if the star. But it doesn't bother me either. I just take pictures of them anyway. Thank you for sharing.

I have been getting some GCD models lately and they are nice. I have the Jaguar in red and waiting to get the Golf Mk4 in yellow. I do prefer DCT though as they offer pretty much the same level of detail without the fancy stuff like suspension and steering wheels, and at half the price. They also have more left field offerings that I enjoy very much :)
RLC’s are not even worth 10bucks compared to these.. I didn’t even renew my membership this year.. saves me the disappointment of solving captchas and not scoring anything
I would rather have 2 Mini Gt or Tarmac Works models. But there is a question of theme. Not much rivalry when you look at brands and models.@zach_diecast_mansur
The boxes are horrible. Who wants to display it in a blister? If you don't use the blister it's just going to rattle around and get damaged if you pick it up. The model needs to be screwed down like every other logical brand does.
I got the blue Tacoma that came with the camping equipment. I love it.

I recently bought the Cement Grey Tacoma Off-Road 4X4 and the Yellow TRD 4Runner from GCD. I think they're fantastic.

They are better value for money than TLV so they are worth it.
I'd rather have one of these than 4 or 5 "Premium" Hot Wheels or 30 mainlines though. Or Auto World for that matter.
