Great Pop Culture set. The R34 & R35 will be the most popular and the first to leave the pegs imo, so i ordered a set online as well to avoid dissapointment. The rest look nice too, like the MTV Dairy Delivery and the Mutt Cutts. Unfortunately MTV is all about reality shows and very little music nowadays, and that's the reason i stopped watching the channel many years ago. Thanks for the unboxing and the review!
Cool set, hoping to find the Dairy Delivery (dig this casting), and the Packin' Pacer. The Pacer originally ran from 1978-1983, though believed to cont. on the international versions to 1978. It was designed by Larry Wood and Bob Rosas. It was retooled in 2011 for the Hot Ones series and used a few more times to present. Dig it! Good set.
I think the entire set is a good one. Though the only casting here I got was the Beavis and Butthead Pacer, got 3. 2 for friends that remind me of Beavis and Butthead and 1 for myself. Left the skylines for the resellers to have fun with, considered the MTV van and might get one if I see it again and passed on mutt cuts.
So funny to hear someone in your age bracket refer to MTV back when they still played videos while people my age (old) refer to it when MTV still played music. Music videos was just never in my lexicon. Another great video sir!!!
great set of cars. I think you really need to re do the video though... I wanted to hear your impression of my boys Bevis and Butthead! "Kick 'em in the nads, Beavis!" "Uh, hey, baby." Favorite car was actually a van! The MTV Dairy Delivery is really sweet
I too sunk a lot of time on Gran Turismo 3 for the PS2. What a game it was! Those graphics were unlike anything else at the time (including high end PCs). So you can bet your @$$ that i pre-ordered the 2 Nissans from this set the day they were announced. Not because they are GT-Rs (although i do like my GT-Rs), but because of Gran Turismo.
Beavis and Butthead premiered on MTV in 1993, though the initial "Frog Baseball" short was self-produced by Mike Judge a year or two earlier. I wanted to watch it but it was shown on MuchMusic in Canada and I lived in a small town near Montreal where my local cable only had MusiquePlus, the French version of MuchMusic, which didn't initially show it (although I think they did show Beavis and Butthead later on in the 1990s, in English with French subtitles). I think I had to wait until early 1995 for the initial VHS collections of Beavis and Butthead before I finally saw the show and those tapes didn't even have the music videos for music licensing reasons but I still enjoyed it. Anyway, I bought the Pacer from this set because I collect the Packin' Pacer casting anyway. I hope that this isn't the last time that we see Beavis and Butthead-related Hot Wheels; I want to see Todd's ~1973 Plymouth Duster as a Hot Wheels car. Aside from the Beavis and Butthead car, my local Walmart had the MTV Dairy Delivery and the Dumb & Dumber van in stock but obviously the Gran Turismo Nissans were long gone.
Hey Djk, I got a Ultra Red . It’s the Big Country collectibles ( 1965 Chevy Suburban Release 1 . I am trying to find out how many of them are made. Can you help me out ???? Thanks
Agreed far and away one of the best sets especially over the last 3-4 years when some sets are just bad with maybe 1 redeeming car. Just check out the next junk set coming out.
The only ones i picked up was the mtv and the pacer, both found memories. I did watch dumb and dumber but have yet to see the casting. I watched mtv in the 80s at a friend's house and i was envious. I wished i had it. Not into gaming so don't want the other cars. My favorite of the 3 is the pacer.
Gran turismo 2 was the best. For the time. Like when games had a real soundtrack. But three was pretty good too and had way better graphics. Still waiting for an escudo pikes peak am I right?
You ask me, nobody should be talking about this latest Hot Wheels release, including the Beavis & Butthead car, without mention of the recent Saturday Night Live skit featuring Ryan Gosling & Mikey Day. I haven't laughed so hard since the original Beavis & Butthead movie: ua-cam.com/video/86qKgK0asGo/v-deo.html
My favorite is the R34 Skyline. I have never been a fan of the Dumb and Dumber movie. Just not my cup of tea. Packing Pacer is cool. Just not of fan of Beavis and but head.
Greenlight also did Running on Empty haha.. This set is pure nostalgia for me... more than a gas station. If they made some Kwik Trip ones maybe I would change my mind
Man I loved the MTV van. Though I am a gen Z, I love 80's related stuff and the MTV is such an unique piece of history
What a great set, so fun.
I was in school when M TV started so yeah flash back for sure. 🎉
No luck finding this set locally. Pop Culture sets are very hit and miss in stores. Love how the MTV casting wheels are Moon eyes

Very cool models 👏😀. I like them all !

When I offered you a set and sent the pics it may have been the most excited I’ve seen you about a new HW set.😂
hahahahahaha!
definitely agree, I buy some pop culture castings here and there but this is the first one where I want all 5.

Nice dog. The alarm alone cost 200.
This set is so 90s❤
i want the R35 and R34, hope to find them on the pegs but may need to resort to online.
I loved all of them

Awesome looking die-cast 👍🏻✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Too bad they didn't make the leg lift on the Mutt Cuts van where the fuel filler door was. 😂👍
hahahahah!
I’m a little too old for this set, but I’m glad you like it.

Cool set, hope the Beavis and Butthead Pacer, is a peg warmer.
I cant even find it in stores
The Gran Turismo Nissan GTR Nismo GT3 was from the movie Gran Turismo 2023 and it’s based on a true story of Jann Mardenborough.
Great set. I grabbed a case online and two more GT-Rs

Divide the total production by 24 and that is my guess for those

Hahaha once you had that car you could win every race no problemo

When they did the GasThemed trucks for pop culture was better than these. Don’t care about MTV, Beavis or Dumber and Dumber
