This entire thing is satirical... the old lady sleeping and being up is making fun of how infomercials we're cut back in the day. One moment a person has sleeves and the next they dont, then they're back again. 😆

After watching i must admit I laughed for around an hour while I watched. The special worked exactly as intended and I can't wait to watch the next one, because I'm pretty confident I'll be able to laugh for another hour or so when I do.

He asks questions I have never heard an interviewer ask. He's not afraid to go deep and get to the core beliefs of his guests. "How did you come up with $25?" left Louis speechless for example. Love to see him interview Putin next.

The guy who played the talk show host was incredible. Carried the exact same clueless, childlike naivety that Fallon has. The Lynch influence (and maybe Tim and Eric) was definitely here but Louie's skill and flexibility as a comedian and director is masterful. This was so good.
The host was awesome.. The confident facade balanced with the uncomfortable awkwardness of having a guest who's supposed to be funny but giving him nothing. The eyes growing wider and wider in fear as he has to come up with ways to sell this dud sitting next to him for a half hour. He was masterful.
I get what you mean, that he's been doing stand-up for 35 years. But he's actually recorded (I think it's) 8 specials OVER 15 years -- a much more impressive feat than your phrasing suggests. His first was, 'Shameless' in 2007.
