Keep at it brother. Intermittent and extended fasting combined with low carb is great for weight loss and you might want to look into the studies on their effects on tumour growth, you should get benefits there too.
you need to warm your muscles up man, either a hot shower or hot bath then when you get out do some thorough stretching exercises this takes the shrink out of your muscles and allows the fibres to reset, and that takes the hurt out of it
Love being here…thanks for having me. Wish I could be more a financial supporter. But I’m here, as are the many others. *Shout out…Rob…take Willy Texas Bass fishing! He’s scared that you’ll outfish him on his own boat. :)
I was the fittest person I knew pre- pandemic. The work from home world and other life developments has taken all that lifestyle from me and I'm a 10th of the bloke I was at 42 year's old. I've been trying to break the mental barrier to getting it back for a bit now, but watching you here getting after it is a great boost. I'm fortunate in that I dont get super heavy if I stop, so hopefully its a shorter journey back! Best of luck with the journey - the hardest part (resetting the habit) is done for you!
Inspiring willy, I'm trying to get out for a walk everyday since I got out of the habit of running. You're making me feel determined to get back into it.
Willy, I have battled acoustic neuromas for 30 yrs. I was 29, a professional sailor training for the Olympics and working on my airline pilots license. God had other plans evidently, so I go on fighting and giving thanks for each day. The surgery was very bad , they have come a long way since but before mine, they could not operate on the skull base tumors at all so not many people with similar surgeries have made it as far as me, being an athlete was part of the difference. I returned to top-level racing after five years with some success but with immense struggle. I am not well but manage to cram in a lot every day, sometimes gritting through the pain. Being a soldiers soldier is what will help you manage your days to be fruitful and inspiring to others as you are to me. Love you mate, Mark p.s. The former No. 2 in the world in small cats is a Sydney guy and my 3 decade arch-rival. I thought I was going to have one more shot at him last year in the most grueling event our sport has, The Worrell 1000 Fort Laurderdale Fl. to Virginia Beach Va., I was in condition but he has early onset dementia and with that I am retired. Been slipping quite a bit since, but it is strange how I have now outlived half of my close friends and competitors. Maybe we will meet around the same time and be best mates in a better place, at peace, free from war.
Good Stuff Willy.. I've made some changes myself over the last 6 weeks, doing "OMAD" Keto, and balancing electrolytes (less sodium salt, more potassium salt, reduces edema "water weight") doing more cardio than strength work (back and old lower limb issues, waiting on surgery).. down from 108kg to 96 .. feeling better for it..
Right on Willy! We are here with you- and everyone else in the comments going through the same process to get healthy. Saw a glimpse of the garden again brother…. Throw in just a bit more! Exercise is a huge component of health but food intake is just as important. Including beer- always have to include beer. Thumbs up from USA!!
Great stuff Willy - you're a ledge mate! When I was younger I hated the rowing machine as well. But there was one particular exercise that almost matched the rows. 20 rep breathing barbell squats. Hated them with a passion but man, they were good for getting you blowin'....Keep it up mate!!
Hey Willy so happy you getting things going mate .....just dont push to hard to fast injuries happen . Have been a personal trainer for a long time and patiance + persistance = healthy resoults \-/ ....CHeers
Go on willy lad, great to see you working. I recently started working out again too after 5 years of nothing. Was a rugby player for 20 years and took on a back injury.
Hey Matt! You got this!!! With beautiful Lilly with you for support. We are here when you need us. Ty for sharing your journey, you beautiful surroundings and you lovely partner! P.s. skin cancer is the least of your worries at this point. 🤪♥️🇨🇦
I was told about intermittent fasting from a friend of mine. I was skeptical to say the least. Well, 2 months later and I'm down near 45 lbs. and feel great most days. So, I know it works. Keep with it. Your an inspiration for us all. Just a suggestion. Bike instead of running for now. It'll be less stressful on your foot and you'll still get the heart rate going. Then go back to running when your foot is better.
Keep up the hard work Willy, I’m on a similar journey and at 41 it’s not easy but the determination and motivation as vets that we have in us will pull us through to the objective.
good shit Will, running right with ya. It's amazing how hard it can be to do what's in our best interest but when you dig deep and push yourself, amazing things happen.
Our wee buffalo bill so proud of you mate.🎉🎉🎉😂🎉🎉❤.hope theese work outs won't make your brain more stressed to what it's yoused to?please take it slow willy 👍 we want you around for a good long time to come ywt freind.your the legend now mate.the neck pains the blood flow from the heart to quick I think.you are an inspiration to us all bro.if you can get up we can.short of not having the income to support the food diet and circumstances personally that is as a happy hearts a lot to do with it.thats a story for another time my military brother proud of you take it day bye day brother well done.cjay Scotland with full support xx❤
What a bloody legend mate. You're inspiring and once I get over my hernia op I'm gonna start making my fitness better. Keep it up the great work mate 👌👌👌 BTW those chilli plants are freaking epic 🌶🌶🌶
good on ya mate, keep on. Like you I really fell off that peak fitness when I left. Watching you is actually making me contemplate getting off my fat arse and try to get back some of what i used to have.
Dude I had no idea that we are basically the same age. You carry yourself with such maturity i thought you were 10 years older. I love all of your content Willy, never change and never stop!
Keep going mate, but make sure to rest and let your body replenish, I kinda know what a slog it is trying to recover from health issues and meds effects.😊
On same journey. Again. I skip the scale and buy a pair of jeans that I would like to be in (without squeezing or holding my breath- lol) and go by fit of my clothes. If the waist is getting loose and the shoulder, biceps and thighs are getting tighter in my clothes, then I’m heading in the right direction.
Good to see your getting vitamin d gardening, one thing worth looking at is vitamin d behind even clear glass, it blocks a lot of the uv spectrums, worth looking into the ones you do and don't want. Stay safe
Could only watch a couple minutes before I realised I have been far too lazy today. All the best on your journey Willy and thanks for the great content (and inspiration 😅)
Awesome work! Seeing you motivated is making me feel motivated to be more motivated, haha! Looking forward to celebrating this journey with you, thanks for bringing us along.
On Ya Willy, another good bit of advice I wish id known before was start really light when getting back into the weights even just use the bar and get technique right and joints used to the movement before adding a bit of weight, so many injuries ive heard from people flying straight back into it.
this was a fun a video. The first one got me working out and hiking for a few hours a day again. thank you. I've really enjoyed the humor you have put into your videos lately. Seem like you're finding a good groove. Good results will come soon enough. From my family to yours, we hope the best for you.
Good see you doing well bro this takes me back to when I first got down to Adelaide and we joined in with grunt pt 🤣🤣🤣 the first 2 weeks were painful af but after that things got easier and by the end felt like a beast both physically and mentally would love to feel like that again one day. Keep them coming big shooter.

What? No beard?! Travesty!!!
you need to warm your muscles up man, either a hot shower or hot bath

You live in a beautiful place man!
Way to go Willy. I really need to do this to. 47 now and been out of shape for a bit. Keep it up, you might just motivate me as well.
100% great diet plan! Intermittent fasting and protein + leafy greens skewed diet works well, and when I'm strict I shed weight easy on this diet.
I’m almost 3 months into whipping myself back into shape. Keep up the grind and listen to a lot of David Goggins!
