I have a large plastic tub that I place on the passenger seat to put the food in. I adjust the seat so that the tub is wedged tight between the dashboard and the seatback. This locks the tub in place, & spills are rare. If spills occur, they are kept inside the tub! My tub is big enough to hold a 14" pizza box, so those 16" or 18" pizzas have to go in the back seat. I should add that having a few small pillows helps stabilize the food that needs to be kept in an upright position.

i did pizza delivery for 2 and a half years... i can tell you if you wear a cap and put a cap light on it you will not trip over things as much and be about to avoid spider webs and be able to hold everything in 1 trip... If you need things signed by the customer its helpfull to wear a belt and get a pen holster for your belt thats what i had, im sure pens in a holster could also be good for self defence.

I carry a rechargable spotlight/flashlight/warning strobe combo. In the dark, or inclement weather, it's useful to find rural addresses that aren't well marked.
Also a basic toolkit with a spare headlamp bulb for the vehicle I'm operating has saved me multiple times. Nothing fancy, a few common wrenches, screwdrivers, zip ties and duct tape can make the difference between getting back or being stranded waiting on a tow.

I do uber eats delivery only and I run into this problem more often than not: the restaurant processes the order and puts out that it's ready but really they haven't even begun cooking the order so I end up always waiting for the order to get done. Since we do not get paid for wait time at all, I was wondering is there a way to avoid the wait other than cancelling the trip and racking up a high cancellation rate? Let e know. Thanks for any advice.

Michael Hubbard Yes, this was a real frustration that led to my only lasting involuntarily on the UberEats platform for 19 days, and then being "permanently' banned from that side of the app.
Initially, I took the communication to the restaurant directly, inquiring why orders weren't ready when the app communicated differently. I learned the hard way this kind of communication is just not tolerated, so now I recognize the dominating illogical logic employed in the restaurants, and will choose to avoid the wait times right away.
First, trying to communicate with a restaurant, with any assumption that one might build a rapport, is flat unknown anymore.
Two, the illogic on the restaurant side, is that new calls coming in for unpaid orders are more business, and orders already paid for but not prepared can wait. It will just be on the delivery anyway.
While it stung to be booted off UberEats, and I did contact their support team multiple times trying to sort through this kind of chaos and devaluation of delivery time, I learned another hard lesson true about Uber across the board, and sadly true about too many businesses and institutions. That decisions are always too typically weighted only on the side of money. It is cheat in the long run to everyone.
As the delivery person in the UberEats scenario, "we" seem to only represent outgoing costs to both the restaurants and to UberEats, and do not represent the valuable glue that basically keeps EVERYONE (including customers), fluidly exchanging, especially during this pandemic.
Wanting only security-motivated responses from workers (are we partnered with as independent contractors providing a valued service?), and no original thinking, is not a good thing.
Consequently, I personally will last at this food delivery gig as long as I can tolerate it. It is more labor intensive for the money not being made, for both time and labor- and, I include the Shopper/package Delivery gigs in this line of experience, also.

Hi Jon, have you ever heard a figure that appears to be fairly accurate about what Las Vegas drivers are averaging per hour?
