Drayton Manor: The Story of a Family Fun Park

Drayton Manor first opened its gates as an inland pleasure resort in 1950, before expanding to become the modern theme park we have today.
The site has a history as a stately home dating back centuries. With the house demolished, George and Vera Bryan purchased the land and created a small pleasure park with a collection of hand operated rides.
Drayton Manor remained in family ownership, expanding and updating over the years. Many iconic attractions have been installed at the park including Pirate Adventure, Shockwave, Stormforce 10 and the popular Thomas Land.
Following financial difficulties the park was purchased by Looping Group who continue to add to the park, refreshing areas and installing new attractions.

Nice little video but Python wasn’t rethemed, Klondike was a brand new Z42 Looping coaster, same model as Python. PS that’s me driving the Snake Train in 1994.

@@CoasterConnections it was certainly unique, it was originally a bomb carrier tractor for taking them out to the Lancaster bombers in WW2, it was purchased after the war and used to take guests all over the park, when I drove it it had had a straight 6 Chevy engine fitted and drove around the track shown in the clip, in the original video upload you hear me say “tickets or Wristbands as you come past me”. Which was the payment method at that time.
