I'm so glad you both got to experience Shockwave, as the park's Managing Director has just confirmed in a video on Theme Park Worldwide's channel that Shockwave will be getting sit-down trains for 2024, along with a new name and theme. It will never be the same, and the stand-up position is what makes the otherwise unexciting layout interesting.
Can’t believe my home park is getting its own feature. It had a rough time through the 2010s but after covid the place has flourished and I couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait for the 2024 Intamin Family Coaster.
Wouldn’t say it’s flourished. A lot off rides has been removed that drop tower even though it’s small abs I’ve been on ones twice the height it never topped the Drayton manor one. The new Viking area is overdone and bland
Really great to see you guys enjoying one of our local parks. Shockwave is special to us Brits because it's one of the 1994 trio (along with Nemesis and Big One), and I can't imagine Drayton Manor without it. Will be very interesting to see what the park does with it going forwards considering it's age. Also great fun to see you guys on Storm Force 10. Ever since I found out you were going I was hoping for a rider cam of that backwards drop. The fact you put it in the trailer says it all really. Overall I think you're right that the park's going through a transition. It was in a bad place a few years ago with flooding and bankruptcy, but it really looks to be on the up now which is so good to see. Looking forward to the Towers vlogs!
the haunting is the smaller variant of the madhouse that seats 45 people other than the usual 78, one of my favourie rides of all time being a dark ride enthusiast
It’s been years since I’ve been to Drayton manor!! Love hearing your thoughts on the place, hopefully they really ramp things up for the future. Starting with that carpark! 🤮 lol SARAHS FACE!!! After the backwards drop on storm force 10!! 🤣 I died!
jrfuijfunfnff the whole sequence of "You won't get as wet if you sit in the back but I think you're lying you're butt off, HARRY" to "NOOOOOO would IIII do that???" to them being hit by a complete water wave was everything to me
Loved this! Omg storm force 10 is incredible, Drayton doesn't have loads to offer but I always walk away having such an amazing day and so excited for their next coaster! Was so nice to see your post park activities too 🎉🎉🎉
Drayton Manor is a bucket list park for me for Thomas Land alone (and also Shockwave, but that's a different story). I remember watching him growing up in New York and being like "I really want to meet him someday". Now I usually like to refer to him as "The Original Cruz Ramirez" because I love him so much. Shockwave on the other hand looks very intriguing and since it's the only Intamin standup left it would feel so good to have a rare coaster credit on my list
I love Drayton Manor, it’s quite a small park and their best ride was removed last year (the Intamin quad drop) but the rides that they do have are good and the park is really nice
Wow I like the first ride that you guys were on that looks like so much fun . Um i hope that you guys are having a great summer stay safe and nice park by the way 👍.
1:58 My family once went to Europa-Park, and they made me leave at 7:00. (The park closed at 8:00) Even if parks opened for longer, people wouldn't take advantage of it.
That's really cool you visited Drayton Manor. Like you say, once the new area is built out, it'll be a more worthwhile park. Surprised you didn't mention the huge empty indoor Pirate of the Caribbean style attraction in the park. It closed several years back, and was pretty impressive given the type of park Drayton Manor is. Hopefully its next on the paris agenda to refurb.
7:13 the reason why you're tilting is because the animatronic lifeboat volunteer seen on the left is launching the boat for you he shines the torch in his eyes and screams out "Hold on tight now here we go!" and pushes the lever to launch the boat. Shame he isn't working properly anymore.
Oh my goodness guys so sorry you guys got so drenched on that water ride i was like dude no way oh my goodness haha 🤣 i also like that ride that is so cool 👍 stay safe.
I went to Alton Towers yesterday, and here's my advice. Firstly, The Smiler is the best ride in the park if you're short. If you're tall, the restraints hurt your shoulders. Now I've grown taller, my favourite ride in the park is Galactica. This is my order: 1. Galactica - highest capacity ride in the park except when Oblivion's running all of its trains, smooth, comfortable, feels like you're flying; unlike the Swarm, Galactica has ratcheting restraints which don't crush your torso - hydraulic restraints are trash and I don't understand why they were invented Ride Galactica in any row - view is great no matter what, and Galactica is super smooth 2. Wickerman - full of laterals, whippy, intense, out of control - best in the back - they should probably turn that one turnaround (you'll know which when you ride it) into a mid-course break run to improve capacity, as this is the lowest capacity ride in the park Wickerman has comfortable, minimalist lapbars 3. Th13teen - best airtime in the park, especially in the back - super smooth, and also has a first-of-its-kind surprise towards the end It's also the UK's first Multi-Launch rollercoaster And like Wickerman, it just has lapbars However, it feels less crazy than Wickerman 4. Oblivion - great airtime on the drop, comfortable OTSRs, smooth, and the tunnel is icy cold This is where the rides stop being so smooth. 5. Spinball Whizzer - fun ride, a few potholes 6. Rita - powerful launch and good airtime but somewhat rattly 7. The Smiler - great layout, my favourite when I was younger, but the restraints crush my shoulders - would probably be my #1 if it had lapbars (and that's not that unrealistic - Gerstlauer Infinity coasters often have lapbars. I don't see why Merlin opted for OTSRs.) The restraints crushing my shoulders is quite a consistent issue for Gerstlauer's.
Now Drayton Manor is my favourite theme park in the UK and it is Cool and beautiful some of my favourite rides are Jormungandur Sleipnear Loki Thor Diesel's Locomotive Mayhem Jeremy Flying school Troublesome Truck's Accelerator Wave Swinger Adventure Cove River Rapids Shockwave Maelstrom The Haunting Sheriff Showdown Drunken Barrels
Mine train was in that location too right near G-force. So sad that many things are gone or replaced, the Pirates Adventure was also a childhood favourite because it was a rip off of pirates of the Caribbean for those who can't afford a trip to Disney.
@@phantafan7965 yeah just Look at Kärnan for example incredible as well as the eurofighter Model and the Family coasters and bobsleds they Are all Great
I think you chose a good time to come here, this end of summer the weather has been dismal. Despite considering myself an enthusiast and living about 2 hrs away ive never been here so i really enjoyed this one, first visit next month. What did u think of the fruit gums?
“[Thomas] is a little creepy.” Okay, you just triggered every train enthusiast who watches your videos who grew up from the late 80’s on watching the TV show, including myself.
@@William_Does_Coasters2255 Yeah I know they will they missed a few bits at Drayton as well Wild West Shootout, plus Exodus, Nemesis 2.0, and Megafobia definitely worth coming back for as well as Legoland new Dueling Coaster and Southports New Coastwd
Be thankful that was your first Intamin standup and not La Cobra or Batman the Escape. I think this one is better because it was never moved, La Cobra and Batman the Escape had HORRIBLE rattles that put anything that we call a B&M rattle today to shame
Emma Watson actually did a lot of voice lessons leading up to Beauty and the Beast, but the producers of the music dismissed that and threw a lot of really bad autotune on her voice. So, the primary issue was with the mixing engineers and producers of that soundtrack, not having the cast be cohesive in their vocal abilities.
drayton manor is more going down the chessington route family thrill and the new coaster is the parks first family thrill coaster since looping took over
I did GCSE history (in the 90s) and we had a whole block on American history including the war of independence, civil war, prohibition, the Great Depression, the assassination of JFK. However you elected to do History so it may have been that Harry elected to do Geography (you chose between the two when I was at a school) Also, my family love going to Drayton Manner. @CoasterBot true. I do think there were a number of blocks to chose from. My two years were American history, medicine through the 18th century and beyond and another I believe was both world wars but ot was 23 years ago.
So did you call it a "Nebuluhz?" Because I used to call it that...until a coaster nerd friend told me it's pronounced "Nebula ZEE" 😆😆. I'm glad I'm not the only one who fell for that.

Ah yes, Drayton Manor, a great place for coaster enthusiasts, and No Man's Land for the original Thomas the Tank Engine models
Yeah RIP to the Thomas models that ended up here.
The Toby model that got stolen is probably doing better now in new illegal hands.
At least there doing better now with the bew layout

Absolutely love Drayton Manor, plus brought up with Thomas. Kind of why I'm now obsessed with trains 😂
Too bad the real models from the show they have haven’t been treated the best here.
Seeing Taylor and Sarah getting soaked was funny!
